April 21, 2007 -- Western Magic -- anyone?

working on the DISmeet door sign:

what about safety drill at 4 p.m.? should we just say meet in the Promenade Lounge following the safety drill?

did you all want me to add your breakfast before Capt Marvin's for the families going together -- which rest and what time?
I thought that we were going to start the meet at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge, then break at 3:45 or so for the Lifeboat Drill. The sailaway party starts right after the lifeboat drill and I know that my girls like to be down at deck 9 with the characters for the party.

Now, that being said, I'm all for going with the group. For my last 2 cruises, we met on deck 10 at 3pm, and it was HOT, HOT, HOT!! That's why I suggested the Promenade Lounge (I actually saw the suggestion from someone else on the main cruise board). Then, we can meet in the AC, and be able to talk some. Then have the lifeboat drill and meet back up at the party.

ok, i'm anal
i printed out a weekly calendar page and been marking birthday, anniversaries, whose going to be in Palo on what nights. why? i dunno b/c i'm a stalker

Bwaaaaahhhaaaahhhaaaaa!!! pirate:

:lmao: It is easy to do!

amy -- gotcha! fine with me, you are more experienced at this and if that works well i'm for it :teeth:

We will be in the dining room each night. I don't need the "romance" or the italian food of Palo. But might want to do brunch or high tea. haven't thought of it with the mentions of it.

And to those chocoholics - go for it. I can eat a small candy bar and that's all I can take. :confused3 Not that I don't like choclate, can only have small portions at a time. But do love the smell of good chocolate.

Wish I could be as talkative as some on this board :rolleyes1
But enjoy reading in the morning before heading off to work, and coming home to 2-3 pages of "stuff".:cheer2:

Question from DH - think Pirates will be showing on the ship, or only movies that have already been released pirate: (pirates release May 25)...... (and then Harrry Potter book 5 Movie comes in July as well as the final book too):yay:

Well, had to find SOMETHING to do tonight since there was not a new episode of Gilmore Girls - Suvivor fans - tomorrow night for new episode.

:hourglass is coming up fast- my count is 32 days from tonght until April 21.

Is Spring tomorrow? May 21 or the 22?

Have a good night everyone!

I'll eat your share too, don't worry. :lmao: Who's talkative? I hadn't noticed.........:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Well, more experienced is not really what I was thinking!! Actually, the previous DISmeets that I attended weren't planned by me, I was just in attendance. So, when I saw someone's suggestion on the main board a few months ago about having a DISmeet indoors because deck 10 could be HOT, I was definitely in agreement because we were baking out there in October!!

The other good part of having it at 3pm, as opposed to after the lifeboat drill (which is when my first DISmeet was back in 2003), is that a lot of people want to participate in the party, and not chat. So, 3pm works because most are onboard, have done lunch, have seen their cabins and are ready to explore a bit.

One more thing for tonight, then I'm heading to bed since I stayed up until 2am scrapbooking last night. At some of my previous DISmeets, people have brought little goodies to share with fellow DISers (this is by no means a solicitation for anyone to do anything), but I plan on bringing a little something for the kids. So, if you haven't gotten your info to ohMom, make sure that you do, because I plan on using that for my planning numbers. And, if you don't have your stateroom yet, make sure you send it to ohMom as soon as you know, because if I don't see you and your kids in the terminal or at the DISmeet, then I'll want to make sure that I can bring it to you.

DCL will only show movies that are released in the US, and as far as I can remember, they are only Disney or Buena Vista movies.

Is Spring tomorrow? May 21 or the 22?
I'm pretty sure that tomorrow is the official start to spring!!! It has made it's mark here in FL already as my elm tree has leaves again and the oak pollen is covering everything here. I think that Madison has allergies (she's too small to officially test though) because ever since the oaks started, she's had sinus issues. At first I thought it was a cold, but it's been going on for over a month now, and no one else has it, so I'm thinking it must be allergies (my brother has allergies, I think that's where she is getting it). Ok, I went WAY off topic, but yes, I believe that Spring starts tomorrow!!!

Val and Justin are the only families NOT in Palo on Tuesday! oh my! and really this matters to me b/c my girls want to eat in the dining room with the families the night we are in Palo. just something to chew on for the late night DIS linked dining group :teeth:

We would love to have them join us for dinner! Not a problem here!

bueller? bueller?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Good one! :thumbsup2 (We tend to quote a lot of movies/TV shows around our house, so I love it when someone else does it, too!)

Wish I could be as talkative as some on this board :rolleyes1

:rotfl: Sometimes I don't think it's such a good thing...DH says I always give TMI (true). It's because I have a big mouth...literally.

Paula -- i'm with you all and WISHED so hard that POC3 would be released on or before our sailing but no such luck! darn!! honestly i don't really focus on movie time b/c there is so much else to do; but my DDs will watch movies i'm sure. i have bought a couple candy boxes to pack for them for just the occasion. if Wild Hogs is running I recommend it :thumbsup2

Val -- thanks for the warm open-armed mommy welcome to my girls on Tuesday night while Preston and I totally ditch them for a nice long gourmet dinner far far away.................:rotfl: this is the first time we will have this situation, last time my folks were on board with us; but i feel confident in their ability to conduct themselves like young ladies. Dinner is one part of the cruise they really get into as far as dressing up a little (by that i mean not jammie pants and cami t-shirts) I have read on the main board that it's acceptable to send older kids to the dining room while parents go to Palo and i'll be sure and let the servers know that will be the case.

and if you all quote cartoon movies/tv shows then you will love Paige  Her dad and her quote things all the time -- in fact one of our little games we play, mainly like in the car, is someone quotes a line and everyone has to figure out what movie/show/Disney movie, etc it is from. I'm HORRIBLE! i quote things like "no touchy!" or "have you seen my son Nemo?" b/c i can't think of any stumpers! they all just LAUGH at me

amy -- that is soooo nice of you to plan a little treat for the kids!! i hadn't even thought of that! I will have bubbles and noisemakers for sailaway and will be happy to share with the kids what we have!

survivor is on tonight??

One month left!!!!!

:cool1: :dance3: :cool1:

Let the countdown begin - woo hoo! One month from today we'll all be frantically trying to get our things together & head to the port. DH came home late last night, and collapsed on the couch to finish watching Idol with me. He said in a huge sigh "How much longer until we leave?" I think he'll just be glad to get away from work for a week - and I will too.

All my chocoholic friends will appreciate this - yesterday I had to run to the store for a couple of things, and went by the office supply aisle. I thought I'd just look down there, since I really needed an accordian file for my stuff. The one I had didn't have any closure on it. So I'm browsing, and find a few neat ones. Then on the top rack, here's this cute striped one, and it's called "Chocolate" ;) But it has multi colored striping, but the name was so perfect for me. Needless to say, I bought it!

   I have to admit something, and I probably shouldn't...I have not seen any of the POC movies. Actually, because of DIS, I told DH that I wanted to watch them since everyone is talking about them here. So we rented the first one, had it for almost two weeks, didn't get a chance to watch it. :sad1: I have a feeling we're not going to have time to rent it again & actually watch it (or #2) before the cruise either.

A TRUE CHOCOHOLIC! :woohoo: I, too, buy things if their color "sounds" good!

:rotfl2: Here we go again with the similar stuff. I haven't seen any of them either. I think the original was on TV a few weeks ago, but I didn't record it - totally forgot. So I've never seen a POC movie either. I know Johnny Depp is in it, I've seen the photos & everything, but that's about it. :confused3 Oh well. We're lucky if we ever get to watch anything in our house but Dora, Diego, Wonder Pets, and Handy Manny. Once DD's asleep, we don't watch a lot of movies or anything, usually just mindless TV that you can multi-task to. :)

Don't feel bad, because the first POC came out on DVD and we bought it but never watched it. It finally took Emily, who wanted to watch it last year, to finally sit down and watch it. Well, I LOVED it!! We didn't see POTC2 in the theaters, but we did buy it on DVD. Once again, we still haven't seen the whole thing. I've seen parts of it when Emily has sat down to watch it! I am looking forward to POTC3, but I'm sure that once again I won't see it in the theaters (it's hard to go to the movies with little ones), but I'm sure that we'll buy it again!!!

OMG - I was in withdrawal for a little bit there, NO DIS!!! :rotfl2: I'm glad to see that it's back up!:woohoo:

oh my! OH MY!! you MUST see POC first one!! it's such a GREAT movie!! POC2 was good, lots of physical type humor in it, but definately a 2nd movie meant to set up the story line for the upcoming third. might be scary for little boys though. but Jack Sparrow..........oh Jack Sparrow. and please, why the rum?

I agree, the first movie was WAY beyond my initial expectations. I completely forgot that it was Johnny Depp, and just thought Capt. Jack Sparrow!!! He did such a wonderful job!!

Ooohhh, yummy!!! I just might need to make some Konk Koolers sometime soon before we leave!!! But, there's nothing like having them on the beach frozen!!!

Ok, something quite funny today! I logged onto DCL.com to finish up my online documents and I was filling out my Payment Authorization forms. It came up with Amanda's family and Cyndi's family (all of them), saying that they were traveling in the same party, different reservation. So, at least we know that we're linked for dinner!!! :woohoo:

:lmao: I was hoping I wasn't going to be the only one! We watch (almost) anything on Noggin, Nick Jr., and Playhouse Disney. Once they have the "older kid" shows on, though, we will turn it to Boomerang, which is okay sometimes, but Tom & Jerry can be very violent. That's usually when we turn on Tivo'ed episodes of AFV :yay: or just do bath & bed.

:rotfl: We have bought several DVD that we haven't watched either! We're not really into going to the theaters (our home system sounds much better [one of DH's hobbies is DIY audio], plus its your own comfy couch! And cheaper popcorn!). Our weakness is definitely TV. We even designed the layout of our house around it so we could see it at all times.

Oops! Thought I hit "submit" two hours ago as I was rushing off to pick up the boys from preschool. But this reply is still sitting here...
Now I'm having problems getting on the boards. Anyone else? I keep getting a database error. I usually get a different message late at night before going to bed, which says it's closed for updating, but today I'm getting a different message. Frustrating! (I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms! No DIS since this morning!)

The DIS has been having problems all day! I just keep trying and it's working ok now!! But, I did miss it earlier!!! :lmao:
