April 18, 2010 - 4 night Wonder

Wow!! I'm really surprised that those were your only choices. Either a lot of other gold CC members were on when you were, or there are a lot of platinum CC members on this cruise.

I'm glad you were able to get a ressie! :thumbsup2 Enjoy!!

I might try after we get on the ship to see if we can get a later ressie, but if not, we will just keep the 10:30am slot and drag our DD along with us. :upsidedow :rotfl:

Andy,

I tried to send you this as a PM, but the system wouldn't let me send it because it looks like you may have PMs blocked.

You might want to see if you can modify your Palo brunch ressie. I just checked to see what I could book and it showed 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30 and 12:00 as available. I don't know if that's because we're in the Walt suite or not, but something may have been "flaky" last night and you may be able to change your ressie to a later time.

Thanks Ed, I'll go back to the DCL website and check it out. ;)

The only times available are still showing 10:00 and 10:30 for me. It "might" because of our party size of 4 people? :confused3

I turned my PM's back on and just sent you a message. I forgot I turned my PM's off when I went in for surgery last June. :lmao:

100 Days until we Sailaway!!!

With snow falling today, I can't wait!!!

I'm with you!! It's snowing up here too and I would really rather be somewhere warm! Although..... it doesn't look too warm in Florida right now..... according to the twopalms web site, it's only 45 degrees! Definitely NOT a beach day down there!

Its not nice here in Connecticut either today. I'm so looking forward to the cruise and that nice warm weather. My family is going to Disney World Feb 15-21st which I am also looking forward to but I'm thinking I will be packing heavy coats and mittens for that trip :sad1: I knew we wouldn't be swimming in February but I was atleast hoping to be able to wear a short sleeve shirt during the day!:sad2:

You may be surprised about the temps in Feb. We went down in Feb, a few years ago, and the temps were in the high 70's/low 80's. It felt really good after being up here in the cold for weeks and weeks. On the other hand...... you might want to keep an eye on weather.com so you won't be caught by surprise.

But...... by mid-April when we cruise, the average temps are in the mid-80's. Ahhhh......... sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

Even though we only received about an inch of snow today, I still did quite a bit of slipping and sliding while walking around reading water meters this morning, LOL!!!

You gotta be careful with the new knee Andy. Wouldn't want to mess it up and miss this cruise!!

So far, we've only had a dusting...... and I hope that's all we get.

:thumbsup2Woo-Hoo down to Double Digits!!!:thumbsup2

have a friend that's booked on this cruise. on our last cruise we loved the Fish Extender exchange. Is this group planning on an FE?

If so, I'll have to help her get over to the DIS boards. Maybe she'll be interested in the meet either way.

So far, no. As I understand it it's more common on the longer cuises.

Welcome Aboard to your friend. She is more than welcome to drop in here and say HI.

We are a pretty small group, only 6 or 7 families at last count. No one has mentioned doing an FE exchange, since mitspecrks asked about it last June. That person only has 4 posts and hasn't posted on this thread since July, so I'm not even sure if they are still going with us. We will probably do a DIS meet, but I doubt we'll be doing a FE exchange.

So you guys seem a lot more familiar with these cruises than I am so I thought I'd ask you what you thought about my plans. We are castaway club so our booking window for spa, Palo etc. opens up 90 days before the cruise which is in a couple of days. The only things we really want to book for are a massage each and dinner at Palo on our anniversary.

I was thinking of booking late morning massages on the 19th I think that would be the Nassau day? We're not getting off the ship in Nassau, the kids would be in the club while we had massages. Thoughts?

Then our anniversary is on the 21st, I think thats our 'at sea' day. I was going to try to book Palo for 5:30/6:00 and either have the kids in the club so they can go to dinner with the club or get them dinner at Plutos or Beach Blanket Buffet if it's open that early before we bring them to the club, then I figure we'll be done with our dinner in time to pick the kids up from the club and go see the show in the theater at 8:30 I think it is. Does this sound doable? How does Palo slot their reservations? Are they by the hour, half hour 15 minutes or do they do two seatings like the other restaurants, how likely am I to get these times? Thanks all!

Your plans sound good to me! Yes, we should be in Nassau on the 19th, and since you don't plan on getting off the ship, that would be a good day for a massage. Plus, the kid's club will not be as crowded, especially in the morning. We've found that people tend to get off the ship in the morning, then get back on around lunch time or early afternoon.

As for the Palo plan...... BBB will not be open for dinner that night, because it's the last night of the cruise, so the options for the kids is either dinner with the club or one of the "fast food" places. I'm pretty sure that Palo opens at 6:00 and the reservations are in 30 minute intervals. If you can get a reservation for 6:00, you should have plenty of time to eat dinner and pick up the kids for the show. Even if you can't book 6:00 online, they hold a lot of reservations to be booked on board, so check where they are doing the onboard ressies and get there a little before they open (you might want to book a "backup" time online, just in case).
