April 18, 2010 - 4 night Wonder

I knew you'd know all the answers! Thanks! See I didn't know about BBB being closed on the last night of the cruise, thanks for the heads up, I suppose I could always get room service for the kids as an option too. I'm a little nervous about having my just turned 5 year old eat with the kids club, I guess she'd be fine I just sort of wonder how they work that, I'm sure theres a thread on it somewhere on the dis! So I'll try for a 6:00 Palo reservation, thanks for the heads up. Do you know what show they do on the last night? I'm wondering if we eat later what show we'd miss!

I forgot to mention room service - sorry 'bout that. The clubs go to dinner at BBB and one side is set up as a buffet for them. The usual kid's favorites - mac and cheese, etc.

Just fyi..... I just logged into the DCL site and looked to see what is available at Palo that night (we're Gold CC members so I can see it now). Every half hour, between 6:00 and 9:00 showed up as available, so if you are able to log in early on your 90 day mark, you should be able to get 6:00.

The show on the last night is Disney Dreams, and is probably the one show I would not want to miss. It is definitely our favorite show, even though we've seen it 7 or 8 times!

Thanks for checking on Palo for me. I'm feeling better to have a plan in place!

Three months from today we'll be getting on our Southwest flight and will be heading to Florida!!! :goodvibes

Us too!! We're flying Southwest this trip from Manchester, NH and we're supposed to land at MCO at 1:40. If we're on time, we should be at the Residence Inn at the port by 3:30 or so.

As every kid says........ are we there yet??

Our flight arrives at 2:05 on 4/17, so we will just be minutes behind you!!! :thumbsup2

I'm hoping to be at Grills by 4:00pm for an early dinner before they get too busy!!! :goodvibes

Just don't jump off the deck and try to swim to the Magic as she goes by! :rotfl2:

Oooops....... forgot...... the Magic will be on the TA that Saturday.

Yep, that's why I'm not spending my 55th birthday on the Magic......

Ugh...... woke up to 7 - 8 inches of very heavy, wet snow. Even my 8 HP snow blower didn't like it - too heavy.

I wish Spring would hurry up!!

I booked my times today. I got the 6:00 slot for Palo on our anniversary and a couples massage on Nassau day at 3:30ish. I wanted single massages for my husband and I spaced about 1/2 hour between one ending and the next beginning in case there was any problem with the kids and we couldn't keep them in the kids club we would still each be able to have our massage while the othr watched the kids but there were only 8 am and 5 pm and later slots left for all the days, no too apealing! So I hope all goes well with the kids while we're getting a couples massage!:rolleyes1

Glad you were able to get the Palo time slot you wanted. Once you board, you can go to the Spa to see if they can switch your massage times. I have to believe that they don't allow all of the Spa times to be booked online.

Yes thanks I might try that.

I'm dying to know my flight times. You guys are lucky you booked yourselves and know all that. I have to wait until 45 days or something silly like that for Disney to give me my flight times and airline. Their whole flight booking system is really screwy. They were included in my hubbys cruise prize though so i guess I can't complain!

I wasn't aware that you won the trip! Congratulations!!!

We have never booked air through DCL, so I have no first hand experience. However, from what I've read here on the DIS, they typically don't book the most convenient flights for you. I see you're from CT, so are you flying out of Hartford, or one of the NY airports? I researched flying out of Hartford for our last cruise, and there weren't very many non-stop flights. I hope they don't make you leave too early.

Thanks, we're pretty excited about the win! I think we pretty much have no shot at a non stop. Southwest flies out of Hartford with some nonstops so thats who we usually fly when we book ourselves but I don't think thats who Disney will book us with and if they do book us with them most likely it won't be one of their nonstops.

My kids are on vacation the week BEFORE the cruise so I wanted to go down a few days early because I didn't like the idea of flying in the day of the cruise for all the usual reasons and because it seemed like a waste the kids being on vacation and us sitting at home! But I found out that when you win a prize they charge you these awful deviation fees to change anything about your trip. They wanted to charge me over $200 each person to change our flight day going down x 4 people, I could pay for the R/T flight for less than that!

After talking to a few different people I found out that if we booked our hotel before the cruise through Disney Cruiseline then they don't charge us the deviation fees. So I just paid $450 for 3 nights room only at AS Movies for before the cruise. Of course I could have gotten it so much cheaper with a code but now I don't pay a deviation fee to fly down ahead. We will fly in on April 15th and spend 3 nights at AS Movies. Transfers were included in our prize too so I think we'll skip renting a car (we almost always have one when we're in Disney so that will be new) and we'll probably just do one day at the MK and then a day having tea at the Grand Floridian and shopping at Downtown Disney.

I wondering what time the transfers from ASMovies will have us at the ship. I don't want to miss any fun!
:woohoo:

You might want to check to be certain that the DCL bus stops at ASMovies. I think they were supposed to start offering transfers from all the resorts starting this month, but you may want to confirm that they did start that.

If they do have the transfers from there, I wouldn't count on getting to the port much before 1:00pm or so. From what I've read, the buses don't leave the resorts until around noon, and it's about an hour drive from WDW to the port. I've also read that they usually stop at multiple hotels, so you could end up stopping other places after you're on the bus.

Yeah, thats what I'm afraid of. I got a rate from Budget of $132.00 including all taxes and fees from the 15th-18th. We could save that amount if we just use the cruise transfers and magical express. We won't be on the meal plan though so a car while we're there would allow us to eat offsite a couple times and make a grocery stop for breakfast items and waters/sodas. I still haven't decided what to do!
