Could someone please tell me whether you need a valid AP at the time that you reserve an "AP discount" room at a WDW Resort, or whether you could pick up the AP just before you check in.

Also, does anyone know the likelihood of getting a good deal on a moderate resort in mid-March, this year, and what the cheapest rate might be for a discounted room at that time?

We are having some family members visit us at BCV, and I am thinking that we might be able to convince them to stay a few extra days if we could find them a great deal on accommodations. I will be purchasing an AP on the day of our arrival.

Many thanks.::MickeyMo pirate:

You don't need to already be in possession of AP's to get AP rates but some resorts apparently have asked for the AP while others take the voucher you get before getting the real deal. It seems to be hit or miss. The discounts for midMarch have been out for a while but I don't know if any rooms remain available. You gotta call Disney for that one, lol.

I'm always shocked when I read people planning a trip in like a month, lol. I'm soooo obsessed (and broke I guess) that we plan our trips at least a year in advance! Good luck.
