AP or Hopper for Advance Fastpass?

I need to purchase tickets for our trip in May. I would like to schedule the fast passes in advance before i leave home. I'm reading that if I buy AP's, I can not get fastpasses in advance, until I activate them. Is this correct? Would I be better off purchase 10 day hoppers and then at the end of my trip, upgrading them to Ap's?

You can link the will call confirmation number for an AP to MDE which will allow you to make FP+ selections. You would still need to go to a Guest Relations location or a Park ticket window to exchange for the actual AP. Your year on the AP would not begin until you did that exchange.
 
I successfully linked my PAP confirmation # for my November 2013 trip and got FP+.
 

Sorry my toddler grabbed my phone!

I was able to make FP+ reservations with just my voucher # that I had purchase in advance. And like pp said, I had to activate them at guest services when. We arrived at the parks.
 
Thanks everyone! So i should I have them shipped and use the voucher number or use will call and use the will call number?

How did you do this when I put my will call number in it says I need to link to person but its a blank page?
 
And not to hijack the thread, but our AP's expire mid-trip. How to ensure that we can make FP+ for the whole trip? Do we have to buy the vouchers before we leave, attach them to the account, and then activate them when necessary?

It didn't seem to do anything, but I linked it to myself & my hubby & then it let me do FP+ (I was in my 60 day window).

If it doesn't work i'd call !!!
 
Thanks everyone, so i'm thinking will call may be the way to go. Hopefully it will all go smoothly! :)
 
I ordered some in October and had them ship the AP vouchers. When I received them, I scanned them with my phone from inside the app, and they linked just fine.
