We are going to WDW in sept and have res at WL using the DC card. I am wondering if it is better to buy PAP for us and change to a room only res. Would I get a better rate using the AP in sept at WL over the DC?? The rates are not out yet for AP, but the DC rate seems to be $174/night. If I change to a room only, can they just transfer all the money ive paid. I have been calling them just about every week putting money down using different credit cards. I would hate to have to wait until all the different cards got credited back and have to start all over. Is it better to get the PAP over going with the package with the unlimited magic passes?? We seem to go every year, and would probably plan on next year to go 1 week earlier than this year to make sure to use our passes again....help me decide please!

The Annual Pass Holder discount is better than the Disney Club discount. However, don't run out and purchase the AP just yet. You can book an AP Holder discounted room without having the AP in hand. It is only after you make the booking that you have to purchase the pass. Unless you are sure you want to purchase APs or PAPs for practical purposes, don't purchase it without knowing if you will need it.

You will not be able to transfer money paid on your package reservation to a room-only reservation. All of the payments made would have to be credited back to the various cards you have used to make the payments and you will have to pay a deposit of one night's rate to secure the new reservation.

I hope this helps.

I just got off the phone with reservations, and they said if I want a room only package using my DC, they can take off the resort magic package we have and convert it no problem. If I do get a AP, then they have to refund the money and start all over again. The AP rates are not out yet for that time, but she guessed it would only save an additional 5%. If we do get one, it may be easier to leave it booked and then next year get the good discount. 5% would be about $65 i am guessing, but it may not be worth the trouble of getting all the money charged back, unless it ends up being a bigger discount. We were also thinking of splitting up the stay between AK and WL, and having the AP would allow us to do this easier than going with the package. Can you add on the AP to room only res. and just pay it like a package, or do you have to buy them separatly?? Its easier to just send WDW a few bucks every now and again instead of saving up the $475 for an AP at once
