Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Cows šŸ„

Ice cream šŸØ

Costco - it’s so cheap there and I love drinking milk always have !!!

Milk Gravy - I don’t make it too often but it’s tasty every once in a while

Cake - preferably chocolate 🄮

Frosting - I have a few recipes that call for milk

Happy Tuesday Friends

I’m a big milk lover šŸ¤

Quickie answers because my poll took me way longer to make than I expected

My protein shake that make after I workout

My bowl of morning cereal

Ice cream

Happy Tuesday :)

Dad enjoys yogurt as a granola topping most mornings.

Milk in my favorite hot chocolate and vanilla pudding. I also have come to enjoy Kroger brand chocolate milk from Ralphs. I have never been a plain white milker drinker.

A dash of milk to make a scrambled egg.

Back for a couple of days before we hit the road again...

I haven't really been doing anything dairy since early November, but these are the milk-based things I'd be grateful for if I were :)

Mac & Cheese...well, specifically the cheese, heavy cream, and butter components that go into making the dish.

Milk Chocolate...I have always preferred milk over dark or other varieties.

Brie/Camembert...you need milk to make cheeses.

Can I cheat and just say I'm grateful for anything that has milk in it and cover the whole spectrum? As my entire diet includes various milk based products in usually large quantities šŸ˜‚

1. Cheese - any sort of cheese in any form whatsoever, I'm not fussy and a lot of the best foods have cheese in or on them (lasagne, mac & cheese, toasties, burgers, any pasta dish with parmesan on the top...)

2. Sweet treats - be it cakes, pastries, cookies, biscuits, brownies, pies, desserts, they all have milk based products in them and I genuinely couldn't live without sweet treats, I love to bake them and eat them.

3. Ice cream - goes well with a lot of the sweet treats listed above as well as on its own, and also you can't beat a proper milkshake thats made with ice cream.

HOORAY for COWS

In the 70s I was John boy Walton family

Grateful that I can jump straight from bed into the day... with out ā˜• ā˜• ā˜• coffee... because of COWS.. I had to milk two before school bus.. which meant from bed to being swatted awake by a dirty long thick tail.. plus the pigs chicken rabbit and bottle fed the calf

Grateful for the bottles of milk that fed calves that became my university education

Grateful that the cows were waiting in the morning in the barn that I approach on a muddy path.. raining dark morning...I am grateful that I understand Robert Frost poem... milking those cows has made all the difference in my life

Fond memories of cow sightings on road trips years ago. One of us would always yell, ā€œcow!ā€ Growing up in the city and then suburbia, seeing cows was a big deal :)

Yogurt (Chobani, less sugar, vanilla)
Half and Half (nothing else will do in my coffee)
When I was a kid, I was a chocolate milk fanatic, followed by being a chocolate shake fanatic, and now I’m a frozen yogurt chocolate pops fanatic, which I have mentioned before. :)

So lo did adult survey polling on that suburbia behavior...a lot of head scratching 😧 🤯 on that one

HOWEVER.. as a child moving from Joshua Tree desert to Oregon.. we yelled at every bridge crossing a River... just what is a river as we crossed a dry river bed every day in Joshua Tree

Good Wednesday Morning

I’m so grateful for all my clothing, but to narrow it down, I’ll just list summer clothes….

#1 - My Summer Robe - Lighter weight and it’s just warm enough for this time of year. This robe is older than DD21. It has a pocket that my lab puppy ripped 23 years ago. I won’t get rid of this robe until it disintegrates - LOL!

#2 - Capris - I have so many of them, because I’m not a fan of shorts on me.

#3 - Bathing Suits - They’re old and need to be replaced, but that’s ok. I’m still grateful for them to enjoy my pool days

Compression Leggings and Shorts with good thigh pockets - This is pretty much a daily staple for me.

Running and Hiking Socks - I always feel a bit guilty spending for better socks but the cushioning, compression and coverage make walking and hiking a much more enjoyable experience.

Layering Pieces - I was reminded of this on Saturday. We had time to head up into RMNP but I'd left my hoodie back at the hotel. We were just below the tundra when I noticed the outside temp had dipped to the mid 40s and we'd hit a mix of wintry precip. I wound up wearing a beach towel to layer for warmth until I could get to a store in the visitor center and buy a heavy long sleeve shirt.
