Anywhere in WDW with free wifi???

I will be using internet on my holiday to WDW to use email to keep in touch with parents n boyfriend at home, im from the UK so charges on mobiles to text and call are crazy!! :scared1: with email/facebook etc i can let all my friends and family know how were doing without breaking the bank :thumbsup2

Makes sense, I was just wondering.

:goodvibes

I KNOW!!! this issue burns my biscuits! ugh! My dd11 and Dd16 are homeschooled through an online school (k12) and we have to log thier attendance every day. It would cost a fortune to logg in on thier pricey internet service 5 of the 7 days of our trip! ugh! thank goodness we are driving and will have a car available. I have to go offsite to a mcdonalds, or a starbucks to do thier school attendance and logg thier sync hours. its crazy!

The one over near All Stars has it, but you need to make a purchase to get the passcode.

I didn't realize that any McDs still had protected wifi

If you have a car, there is a Starbucks on I-drive with free wifi

The Gaylord Palms doesn't lock their wifi either

I've never needed a passcode at McD's or Starbuck's around here. Just have to agree to their terms of use. I didn't realize the McD's at DTD closed - how does that happen?

For people who don't have a car or if you find driving off-property to be a hassle, what you can do is buy the 24 hour service one day at say noon, log in, then log in at 11 am the next day. That will bring it to you only having to pay for three days rather than 5. Still about $30 however but you would save a lot of time. Just an idea for people who need to log in everyday.

Disney no longer has a contract with McDonalds to operate in the parks or DTD. They also don't sell McDonald's fries or food in the parks any longer.

On the one hand, no I don't want to think about work at Disney, on the other hand I run my own online business, so it would be nice to be able to log in in the evenings once the boys are asleep and reply to emails, keep my accounting current, and deal with any issues that arise. Do I have to? No, and I don't plan on paying the fee to do so. My DH is also a Master's student and it would have been nice for him to be able to be connected too, but he can get the work done ahead. It would be a nice convenience, but for now, we just deal with it. I'm not willing to rent a car or trek all over to try to get connected. I'll just have literally 1000 emails to wade through when we get home.

good info everyone! i have an ipad that only has wi-fi ... knew i should have got the 3-g enabled one! but good to know there are a few places i can get it on property!

If you wanted to buy the in-room internet service, you'd have to bring a portable router like the Apple Airport Express. Plug in the ethernet and you've got Wi-Fi. This is our plan for our iPads.

I was just there a few weeks ago also at the DLH and their wifi service was included and it worked great for me. I wish WDW would get on the same bandwagon also. Thank goodness for smart phones!

Probably depends on how far your room is from the router and how many people were using it. I stayed at VGC in May and the wireless was worthless, 1 bar at best. They had a wired connection in the room that we used.

Thanks for the answers... Is there anywhere with computers, where you can pay and then use them like one hour?
