Phew!! I thought I had a bad MIL.....whoa!! Are these people for real??? Yikes and it seems to be alot of mothers and their sons:sad2:

I looked up the show and watched two episodes...:scared1: I am both shocked and hooked.

This show makes me value my MIL so much. I mean, I have heard awful stories of MIL and it makes me be happy that my MIL isn't bossy and is very nice.

My DH said that if his mother was like this, he would cut off all contact with her.

Love this show!!

Makes me & DH realize that while his mother may be a complete mental case and someone we want nothing to do with... things COULD BE WORSE!!

I can't decide if it is put on or not....the way they all miraculously make up at the end is a bit far fetched. :confused3

:hippie: I agree,

That's why I never like these "reality" shows. I saw it last night, Princess I think it's on A & E and the MIL is in the kitchen of the wifes house calling her a word that rhymes with witch and talking about kicking her you-know-what.

And the husband is defending his wife but I'm sitting there thinking..
"girlfriend" you would be talking to the front of a locked door. I would have hauled my mother out by the back of her neck if she EVER came at me or my dh like that.

Especially since the "therapy exercises" are SO lame!

I still watch though, because I think the parts where the monster-in-law is going to town on the SIL/DIL are not faked, average people are not that good at acting for it not to be real!

Last season there was a MIL who was trying to break up her daughter and future SIL before their wedding. This season, stupid daughter and now SIL are LIVING WITH Monster-in-law (WHY? WHY? WHY?!!) and, suprise, surprise, MIL was now trying to get them to divorce. The daughter had even had a miscarriage (probably from the stress in the house) and the mom had a "good - you shouldn't have a kid with him anyway" attitude. :scared1: :sad1:

I blame the kid of the Monster-in-law for allowing the crap to continue. NO WAY would I let my parent/family member talk to and act towards my spouse the way these people are doing. You don't like my spouse? There's the door. Buh-by!

I think I did. I think it was an episode where they lived with the MIL and she kept telling her dd to get an annulment although they had been married like three years or maybe longer. I didn't understand a few things. She was the only one working while he was going to school which is fine but they were living with her and she was abusing him. Sorry going to school isn't worth that abuse.
They had just had a miscarriage and the mother thought it was a blessing. BUT why have a kid if they can't afford to be out on their own with only one parent working. Not that I agree it is a blessing but why are you trying to put kids in that environment.

haha same one I was writing about.

That mother (Khalood Bojanowski) has been making the rounds of reality/talk shows for years. Mom did one several years ago with her son (Momma's Boys) and has been on Dr. Phil several times w/daughter & SIL. She even has an IMDB page.

Sorry, but after watching 2 other episodes of Monster-IL's (the mother going blind & the sister Beautii), I see it as attention seekers playing to the camera for their 5 minutes of fame. Things are wrapped up a little too neatly in the last 10 minutes.

I thought it was really lame. Bad, bad acting, stupid, stupid therapy "activities" and then sudden realizations at the end so they all make up. Bleh.

The only "reality" type show I like is Til Debt do Us Part (oh, and the other one with Gail Vaz-Oxlade, Princess). It's real, she gives them good challenges, and sometimes they screw up and she won't give them any money.

Yeah, that whole "hug and make up" garbage at the end is just too contrived. I COULD see how the monster might have an "a-ha" moment but those are usually sooooo fleeting. To have any real change/improvement, they all need continued group counseling.
