do you recommend it?
Question for those of you that rent books. My DD Spanish book was $200 this semester. We have heard it will be used for Spanish 2 but I am sure by the fall semester they will have changed their mind. I was going to get the book from Chegg but this book requires an online access code and I could not get confirmation if the rental came with that code. I know some courses require these online labs. Will the rental books allow that? Thanks!
Just check prices at several sites. DS and I were checking different places for his books this semester. The rental fee from Chegg was MORE than purchasing the book used. And as Disneyfan007 said, we turn around and sell the ones he doesn't want to keep on half.com.
But if you avoid the bookstore altogether and use half.com or Amazon, the Chegg books I've looked at aren't cheaper to rent than buy used. Throw in reselling (online, not at the bookstore), and they're much more expensive. With renting the books, it may cost a little mroe in the long run, but you don't have to put up the money up front, and worry about the bookstore not buying your books back (it happens a lot)
