But if you avoid the bookstore altogether and use half.com or Amazon, the Chegg books I've looked at aren't cheaper to rent than buy used. Throw in reselling (online, not at the bookstore), and they're much more expensive.
My DD has taken four classes so far at the community college. I have yet to find a single one of the books she has needed from Amazon or Half.com. I keep wondering how everyone is doing it. None of the ISBN's match up. I have been told by a few people that the college likes to wrap everything in shrink wrap (so it can't be returned if you open the wrapping) throw in some useless, never to be used booklet and slap a different isbn on it. I have found some of the books on Chegg but, as I stated earlier, they required online access so we passed on those books. Our only choice so far has been the outrageously priced college bookstore. I really want to figure out how to get the books for less.
