Anyone use Bare Minerals Escentuals products?

Oh, and to answer the question about the Skin Rever Upper and the other MD facial cleanser, I'd get the skin rever upper. As someone else mentioned it contains salycylic (sp) acid and I thought it would dry out my already dry sking but it has not so far and really makes my skin look smoother before apply the BE products.

The facial cleanser is very heavy and I doesn't do a good job at removing makeup, IMO. I wouldn't buy it again, it just happened to be in the kit I purchased.

HTH!

I didn't like the cleanser on my face either but I have been using it to clean my brushes weekly and I think it does a great job!!!

Skatermom-thanks for the tip! I was going to just push it to the back of the linen closet (hehe) but that is a great idea. I'm going to wash mine today so I'll try it!

GL to those who are going to try it, hope you really like the products! :)

Another fan of Bare Minerals here! Just started using it about 2 months ago. I am hooked. :Pinkbounc Just ordered the Skin Rever Upper, can't wait to get it! :bounce:

I'm on the final step of the check-out process at Sephora.com and I can't get myself to click on the "PLACE ORDER NOW" button. LOL I'm really afraid I'm going to spend all that money and find out I got the wrong color foundation or that the product doesn't work for me.

I was at our local mall a few days ago and was shocked to discover a day spa located there was selling Bare Minerals. They were really nice and gave me a complimentary application of the Foundation/Warmth/Mineral Veil. I told them I wanted to wait a few hours before I decided to purchase so I did my shopping and discovered some pros/cons...first, the Mineral Veil did wonders for my oily skin (Pro). Second, I have pretty large pores and noticed the BM products seemed to make them even more noticeable (Con). For current users -- do you think wearing the make-up on a daily basis will eventually make the pores smaller? It's the only thing that's holding me back as I loved the way it felt on my face.

It is all in the way you use the minerals....try using a dusting of mineral veil before putting on the foundation. This tip seems to really help minimize pores.

Zandy,

Did you bite the bullet and order?

I ordered Philosophy from QVC and picked the wrong shade. It was too light so I returned it. I LOVE the Simplicity cleanser and Hope in a Jar, but I'm thinking about ordering the make up kit from BE. I am looking on the Sephora site right now and wondering about the shades too!

I'm fair w/very pink undertones. Not yellow, honey, golden, etc. VERY PINK!!

Anyone know how long it takes to receive a Sephora order?

calypso,

That's a problem for me too..large pores.

Thanks for that tip Skatermom! That's the kind of info that really helps.

Do you think the starter kit includes the most important items? If you could only have 5 make up items from BE, which ones would you choose? In my experience, starter kits usually include 1 or 2 things that you never use up!

Thanks for your help. :cloud9:

Yep, I did it. I picked the Fairly Light/Light kit. I hope it's right.

I personally have used every product in the starter kit. I will use the darker foundation for the summer. And to the person who was afraid to take the plunge, I was too and I still can't believe how much I love it.

My sister got me this for Christmas....I have never heard of it. It's a kit that came with 2 brushes, a mirror, a large powder and 4 small powders in really odd colors. The directions don't even tell how to use it, I guess I need to tune into QVC.

Let me think....five items that are my favorites?
1. foundation, fairly light for me
2. mineral veil
3. summer bisque for concealer
4. eyebrow kit
5. blush or warmth

I think the starter kit is a great way to go in this case. I listed my top five products but you also HAVE TO HAVE the brushes that go with these. The kubuki brush is a must for the foundation and the flawless application brush is a must for the mineral veil. Both come in the starter kit. I use the warmth, very sparingly but I also use a dusting of a pinker blush for the cheek bone. I looked at this stuff for over a year before I took the plunge and I could just kick myself now for waiting so long. Try it, you have nothing to lose. Most stores will take the product back if you don't love it....

And remember to "sandwich" your foundation between the mineral veil to reduce the pores..... then buff, buff and buff some more!!!! :teeth:

Did it come in a pretty box? This could be the gift of giving gift set they had. That really is more along the lines of an addition for someone who is ready using the basic set. I don't believe that came with any foundation, just the mineral veil and some eye shadows and contour colors.

Skatermom,

Thanks for your advice. I just ordered the starter kit from Sephora.

I had come across the "Gift that keeps on Giving" set while shopping around but I couldn't find out enough about the contents. I think it was being sold at FACE?

I can't wait for my order to come!! :)

Happy New Year Everyone! :grouphug:

For anyone who needs a little enticing ;) I found this on another board:

"10% Bare Escentuals Inventory Blowout Sale--
Order directly on site, no need to call in if you know what you want"

Spalook.com
Use code: BareSale

When I went to browse I got a pop-up asking for my email address and in return I would receive a 10% off coupon that also comes with free shipping. I don't believe there is a minimum order but I could be wrong. So in essence, if you sign up for their email you can get two coupons. :)

I just started using BE this week and enjoy it so far. I'm looking to add some things to my collection when the DH isn't looking over my shoulder.

(Hi Honey. :wave2: )

HTH!

Good for you! Just remember there is a learning curve with this and don't get frustated! I just recently started to use a little more foundation ( I was scared to use too much) and now I really have the perfect look I was hoping for.....

I have a question for all of of you BE wearers! How do you keep all your little jars organized?? I normally have a make-up bag where I keep all my make-up items, but now that I'm using BE, I don't like to throw the little containers in there - makes too much of a mess. So now I just have all the little jars lined up on my bathroom counter, but I really don't like that either - a pain to clean the counter with all those jars on it. Any suggestions? :)

I haven't gotten my BE stuff yet, but I plan to keep it with the rest of my make-up, in plastic drawers I have on a shelf in the linen closet in my bathroom. They also would fit in an under the sink cabinet.

How funny - I use something that looks just like that for my Bare Minerals.
