Anyone use Bare Minerals Escentuals products?

Skatermom,

Thanks for your advice. I just ordered the starter kit from Sephora.

I had come across the "Gift that keeps on Giving" set while shopping around but I couldn't find out enough about the contents. I think it was being sold at FACE?

I can't wait for my order to come!! :)

Happy New Year Everyone! :grouphug:

The Gift that Keeps on Giving was a Today's Special Value on QVC last month. If you search Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals on their web site you can find a complete description of what is in the package.

It is not a starter kit. It contains supplemental colors for eyes and cheeks as well as some contouring and highlighting.

Please explain----Just learning....
I've seen on TV different infomercials...one of them show one large compact type of container w/ all the powders. These powders seem to be pressed powders. Some are large circles of powder and some are small (different colors). Then there is another info. with Melissa Gilbert as a spokesman. She shows about 4 loose powders or so in individual containers.
Are these the same product or compeditors?

The one with Melissa Gilbert is Sheer Cover. The host is Leeza Gibbons and Melissa is her guest.

I haven't seen the other one, but could it be
Jane Iredale? The products on her website seem to match the description.

I have a question for all of of you BE wearers! How do you keep all your little jars organized?? I normally have a make-up bag where I keep all my make-up items, but now that I'm using BE, I don't like to throw the little containers in there - makes too much of a mess. So now I just have all the little jars lined up on my bathroom counter, but I really don't like that either - a pain to clean the counter with all those jars on it. Any suggestions? :)

Hi PinkGirlyGirl :wave2:

I have been using BE for about 6 months now, and have tried just about every one of the products, so I've kind of narrowed down what products I do/do not like and/or use, and have whittled down my make-up case that way. I have smaller size pots of, for example, the Mineral Veil and foundation, and I refill them from the larger sized pots I have - that saves on space a bit. The extra pots, I just keep in my vanity, so I don't have to look at them! LOL I saw, at SpaLook.com, they sell a make-up bag for BE products - they have loops to hold the brushes and zippered pouches for the pots...this is $25 and you can use code "BareSale" for 10% off.

Another alternative to the plastic drawers is to get a pretty basket - that's what I use to hold all my stuff.

The Jane Iredale products didn't look like what I saw. However, the Sheer Cover was the other product I saw...thank you for both suggestions.
Does anyone have any comments on how Sheer Cover compares to BE. What about quality and of course overall cost???

How does BE compare when bought in a store vs. internet vs. QVC?
Thanks

I'll try to answer to this one... In stores you will pay retail price and they seldom have sales. On line you can find discount coupons most of the time (some with free shipping) and on ebay they have some really good deals if you spend the time looking. QVC has great kits that they put together only for them and those are a really good value to expand your collection. Anyone else??

Ok, I've got one. I got the starter kit. What would you suggest be my next purchase to expand? I'm thinking the bisque, as I have occasional breakouts. Thanks, skatermom23, and anyone else who has an opinion.

ETA: DH also got me a golden gate blush with the starter kit.

What do you guys use for under eye coverup? I have "bags" under my eyes that I usually use a concealer for.

I think you should probably go to a site like www.colorfulsprinkles.com and buy some samples of bisque or summer bisque and maybe some eye shadows or the radiance all over colors. This can be a good way to try out colors without spending tons of money. I haven't ordered anything personally from this site but I know lots who have. I am fortuante to have a store locally and I can go and try out things there and see what works for my skin tone. Plus I am not really that creative. Once I find a look I like, I tend to repeat it daily.

I suggest the bisque or summer bisque. You can also use the foundation just with a concealer brush and dab it on. Also the well rested eye color brightens up your eyes nicely.

I got my BareMinerals in the mail yesterday and couldn't wait to try it this morning. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. It didn't cover blemishes as well as I hoped and it looks kinda cakey. I don't totally hate it, but I was hoping I'd like it more.

Don't give up yet. It does take some getting used to.

Try spot concealing first (a small amount right on the blemish) them buff in over the entire face. From what you are describing you aren't buffing enough if you have the cakey look.

It really does take some practice.

The president of BE is going to be on QVC next Monday 1/09 from 2/3 am EST and 3-4 pm EST. Try and catch the show (or record and watch later). She always gives many tips on application.

Thanks for the tips Sandy. Tomorrow I will try spot concealing first and buffing more. Someone (sorry forgot who) mentioned using mineral veil first (I'm going to try that tomorrow too) and last to help minimize pores. Would I spot conceal before or after the first application of mineral veil? Today I just followed the DVD step by step. I guess I have to figure out what works best for me.

I don't put the MV on first so I don't know for sure. Maybe someone that does can advise you. My thought would be to spot conceal first but you never know.

I would like to try the Bear Minerals items but I'm allergic to a couple of ingredients that alot of makeups have in them. I tried looking on their website for an ingredients list but couldn't find it. Could someone look at their mascara and other items and let me know if any ingredients that end in paraben are listed? Some examples are: methylparaben, ethelparaben and propylparaben. Thanks so much!

I checked my foundations (light and fairly light), warmth, bisque, and glee and didn't see those ingredients listed. Mineral veil however has both methylparaben and propylparaben listed. Hope this helps. :goodvibes

There should be a place on their web site that says something like "contact us" or "email us". They are so consumer oriented that if you request that information you should hear from them. If not through their site, try through the host, Lisa Robertson, on QVC's site. I have emailed with questions before and always received a response.

I can totally relate to allergies and this stuff doesn't bother me at all and I was delighted.

I just bought the Starter Kit from our local Sephora store this past weekend. I was looking for a nice foundation and we went into Sephora and they made me over using the Bare Escentuals. I loved how it felt. And it's quick, easy and feels & looks nice.

I agree with one poster about not covering blemishes very well. I love this stuff but my only complaint is that I spot concealer but still see alot of my blemishes very good maybe I'm not using enough coverage :confused3

I have been using the products for a few years now and when people say that I have beautiful skin, I have to laugh because nobody ever said that before Bare Escentials!!
