Anyone use a RENTAL CERTIFICATE before- budget rental

I have a $100 rental certificate ( from airmiles) that I want to use for an existing reservation.
The reservation is $138.00

If you have used one before, did you just show up to the counter and present it, or did you call to apply it to your reservation before you arrived?

When I called the CS agent she said the rate changed to $289.00 ( of course.... She put in a different BCD ). She wasn't sure if I could just show and us it...

JUST LOOKING FOR SOMEONES EXPERIENCE WITH THIs

I got a great rate using a American Express BCD, And no where on the certificate does it say it must be applied before....

Anyone?

I've never used a Budget certificate, but I do know the Air Miles National certificates have to be applied (as a coupon) before the rental.

There should be instructions on the certificate itself. The Air Miles website doesn't say anything about the Budget certificate having to be applied to the reservation ahead of time.

Exactly!
I have used both National and Alamo certificates and they need to be entered as coupons, in the rental reservation and the $100 is deducted from the total........but budget doesn't have a coupon # to enter.

So I am still hoping someone has used one that can comment.

The instructions on the certificate give a BCD # ( that doesn't give ANY discount And in fact makes the reservation $80 more then without anything!!!) and a certificate # ( again , no where to enter it , as it s a larger number then a coupon code) and gives instructions on how the CS is to redeem at register. Nothing about entering it in the reservation.

Just don't want to show up and not be able to use it. I called Budget at Mco and they didn't know either...... Said I should just go to the counter when I get there!,

Someone must have used a certificate for Budget???

I picked my rental car up at the Cape Canaveral location, but I do not think it should be different at MCO

Like you I have also used the National/Alamo ones and those ones do require applying them beforehand but my experience was that the Budget ones did not

What BCD did you use? It wasnt the one on the certificate was it? Did you make your reservation ahead of time...is what I mean.

For that rental I used the Disboards BCD code. I did not not the one on the certificate.
I actually had the reservation all booked before I ordered the Air Miles certificate
