Anyone take a rice cooker?

You can save even more money by adding one of these. :rotfl:

.

Now this deserves a closer look! If you know you'll have a nice sunny day, just get up a little earlier than usual and reel in a couple of those nice fat big boys. Clean 'em and throw them on a piece of tin foil on the dash of your car. I guarantee that by supper time you'll have some good eatin' fish to go along with that rice of yours. But you might want to leave the windows down just a bit afterwards.

After passing it for a long time, my curiosity got the best of me and I had to find out how a thread about bringing a rice cooker got to be 4 pages long.

I should learn not to be so nosey.

Teach you for being a Nose Rosey :p

Rice cookers, rotisserie chickens, portable balls, refillable mugs, cans of corn, and pool hopping ... have we missed anything on this thread?

:lmao: Thanks for a good laugh today!

So, a set up like this in the bathroom would not be acceptable, she asks innocently? :rolleyes1

Here is a cup-o-salmon, cooked with the coffee pot. But what a good idea to use that fishing pole and do cup-o-disneyfish.

But personally, I am going to bring a blow torch with me. I can hang a steak in the closet on one of those hangers with the pants clips. Then I can sear the steak with my blow torch. Who needs a good steak house on vacation?

Hrhpd: good thinking on leaving the window open for proper ventilation. I think in most of the WDW rooms it would probably be a better idea to turn on the fan and place the stove in the tub- The tub and tiles provide the fireproof area that you would want.

Similarly with the steak and blow torch (I'm assuming you use the small ones that chefs use for creme brulee?). Hang it from the shower rod and then flame away. PS: I like mine rare.

Why thank you. Wish I could take credit though. You can learn so much googling on how to cook in a hotel room :scared1:

I would just like to go on record and confirm that I am against all forms of slave labor, including what's being proposed by the OP.

OMG!! I'm at work silent laughing with tears streaming down my cheeks!! Thanks for brightening my day

I'm thinking of bringing my Ronco Fruit Dehydrater. Make our own dried apricots in the hotel room.

On a humid day you'd have better luck making stewed prunes.

Yeah, I finally had to check it out too. You can do your own cooking at WDW without the appliances. You've heard the old expression "hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk." I get hot enough at the parks that I can fry a chicken on my chest. I do have to borrow a bra from grandma to "make it fit", but "suddenly I'm shaplier." And the chicken doesn't smell any worse than those days I forget to wear my deodorant. It really isn't a "half baked" idea -- I can snack while waiting in line for TSMM, then rinse off on Splash Mtn. If that doesn't get me clean enough, I just jump out of the boat on POTC. Tried that once at IASW but the ride wasn't dark enough.

Sad to say, you are not allowed to use your cool gadget at WDW:

Can food be brought into Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Theme Parks?

Guests are allowed to bring food items—such as snacks or foods that do not require heating—into any Walt Disney World Resort hotel. If you have food items that need to be refrigerated, please ask the front desk at your hotel to have a refrigerator placed in your room. Refrigerator may require an additional charge. Guests are allowed to bring food items—such as snacks or foods that do not require heating—into any Walt Disney World Theme Park. Inform a Security Cast Member of any food items when you enter the Theme Park. Learn more on our Special Dietary Requests page.

Golly, thanks mother. I am so glad you realized I was looking for advice even though I didn't ask for it, and so very happy that you posted outdated, non-pertinent, and repetitive information regarding "the rules".

Does anyone remember the thread where the guy wanted to bring his own mattress?

I found it http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2759824&highlight=bringing+mattress

Thanks for posting the link- I was thinking of that thread too!

In my case, the heat from the parks + hot flashes would have that chicken done in time for lunch if not sooner. Would be a little bit worried about being a target for all those food-thieving critters in the parks though.

You obviously haven't been in DIS very long or you don't read much. This one is mild compared to some of them that have been out there.
:scared1:

This one takes me waaaay back, back when most things were on this board before the budget and resort boards really heated up. I remember learning some odd things to cook in your room with some unusual methods.

We're driving on our next trip and were thinking of pulling our smoker.
Pig Roast in the parking lot at Pop!
