Anyone take a rice cooker?

This is really unbelievable. I mean I don't believe it; I think that the OP is just joking with everyone. I'm on disability so I have to really scrape for my trips to WDW and they aren't nearly as often as I wish. That said, I would never endanger other guests lives by taking outside appliances into my hotel room to make food, just so I could save some money. Home appliances aren't supposed to be taken into and used in a hotel room due to fire safety codes that they have in every state. Really, everyone, I think the OP was just kidding everybody. :rotfl:

Y'all are silly!:rotfl:

You can buy the shapers to make Mickey Mouse rice balls for only $5.27! I forsee a new trend in Disney cooking.

Would someone please explain to me why when I eat at Japan or China in Epcot my rice does not come shaped like Mickey? I can get Mickey shaped ice cream, mickey shaped butter pats, mickey shaped waffles, etc yet I have never gotten the Mickey shaped rice balls when @ WDW - if I go to Tokyo Disney will they have Mickey shaped rice?

BTW, there's a rather large turtle that hangs out in the Epcot lagoon, if someone could snag it, it could be added to the menu for the disboards DSA tailgate meet. I'm just thinking it might be easier/safer to catch than the gator recently spotted hanging out by the YC.

Oh, and this is for the pp planning on bringing the squirrel dish to the meet

I was reading this thread to DH last night with tears rolling down my face. I couldn't even get through it without wheezing!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Speaking of food (And not resort choice) does Disney (Or off property) have squirrels running around? Where I come from them squirrels are GOOD EATIN! On the plus side there are no rules that I know of for "catch and release" of squirrels unlike the fish on property and a chubby little squirrel can fit in a microwave (skinny ones in the coffee pots!) nicely.

Occasionally we get the hairy eyeball when we whip out out squirrel snacks in the park, but we just start talking loudly about how yummy our "Turkey Legs" are and that seems to satisfy most folks curiosity.

Hopefully we can hook up with the folks pulling the smoker down to the World and try Squirrel ala Smoke to get that vintage Piney flavor... just like home!

I suppose being in Florida we should branch out and try something exotic like Gator. There was one hanging out at the Yacht Club awhile back. After watching all of the Swamp people shows all you need is a treble hook and a few missing teeth to get the job done.

Jambalaya, gumbo, Etouffee anyone?.... but then we would need the rice cooker, so we are back to the original post. It all works out in the end, doesn't it?

Another great idea from the DisBoards!!! :cool1: Now I would have some concerns about the safety of trying to snag a gator (the guest's safety, obviously), but you might want to take note of the abundance of rabbits on property. It shouldn't be that difficult to snare a couple. And there's more good eatin' from Rabbet than Squirrel, right? They stew up real good. And you don't need rice- just 'taters.

Gator, squirrel, and rice ... Then take it all to Pecos Bill's for some cheese sauce and free lettuce!

Gator ragout, cheese souffle
Rice and spam en flambe
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret
You're alone
And you're scared
But the rice cooker's all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
While the squirrel's entertaining
