We do, it was always too cold or rainy to take the ones outside down, so between now and monday we will do the tree, all inside decorations and maybe the outside if the rain holds off long enogh. We keep the treee up for one of the ds birthdays too but now that is over, so its time to say goodbye till next c hristmas, anyone else still got their stuff up?

I'll admit it. Mine are still up. I have no excuse - just laziness. Every year I get more and more decorations, which makes packing them up more and more work. So, I've been putting it off.

We just took ours down last weekend. We went to disney for the holidays and then returned on the 6th. I came home sick and just did not have the energy to take down all the decorations including the tree. It ended up my DD and neice took down, packed and stored everything for me. I still have lights on my back deck. I guess now that we are having a heat wave today(37 degrees) I should remove them. Susan

Ours are still up. DH said we're taking them down today. As you can see, I'm just running to help him do that.

We still have some up. Outside maybe this weekend. My wreath on the front is a little more wintery than christmas but it is kinda brown not so much green anymore;) My villages I will start taking down today. the Tree has been gone since the 2nd.

Our outside lights are still up, we had a Christmas blizzard here so it is all buried under a ton of snow, probably won't be getting them down until March or April this year. We don't turn them on, DH caught the extension cord with the snowblower the day after Christmas, so they have no power to them.

Inside we have most everything put away... DD convinced me to leave up the 2 Disney villages in the Disney room. She said she really likes them and wants to enjoy them, I think that translates into she was too tired and sick of helping as we packed away Christmas decorations that day :lmao:

I also still have my snowman collection out, I figure they are winter and not actually Christmas so they usually end up being the last thing I pack away.

We have several neighbors up and down the street that continue to turn on their outside lights every night.

I thought I had gotten all of them put away, but I noticed a few that I missed yesterday. We didn't get anything put up outside this year because we were getting a new roof and didn't have gutters. Our house looked so sad for the whole season.

Yes. We tend to be slow taking them down.

Mine were all taken down a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I talked to my mom on the phone and she said, "Have you taken your tree down yet?" She was shocked when I told her when we did it. Usually it's up until February and one yeat the newspaper we used to pack up some decorations read February 22nd!

So yeah, mine are all put up, but it's a miracle.

yes, I have to admit!

DH has an excuse for the outside. We got a ton of snow after Xmas. This is the first day since it melted that it has been decent and he has been home. He is taking them down today.

Inside - I have no excuse. I do have a lot of stuff. It takes forever, but I make it go on for too long. I can't just sit and spend a ton of time all at once. I have been picking away at it. Two of the large trees are down the other two are stripped of ornaments. I do have to pack away ornaments and much of the other decorations and stuff. I promised DH I would make a dent in it today, but that was before we decided to do dinner and a movie tonight (and I haven't started yet - shhhh!!!!):)

ETA: every year, when this topic comes up, I am just so glad to read that I am not alone!

:wizard:

Ours are down, but on DBF's parents street, there are plenty of people who not only have all of their outside decor up, they also still plug in their lights. I can understand being too lazy to take the decor down, but still lighting everything??

Everything is down and put away except for my new five foot pink tree with white lights. I bought it to replace my "too much work" 7 foot tree and got new decorations that are not really Christmasy at all, so I'm calling it my winter tree and leaving it up a while longer because it's so dreary outside and the tree is so twinkly and pretty.

Yay! I can finally answer NO to this kind of question!!

Ok, they are still not in boxes, scattered all around the living and dining rooms, on couches, table and floor. But they are definitely not "up" anymore..

Actually, my house looks worse than if the decorations were still up!

Mostly down, but I still have a few things to do. I've been taking things down bit by bit this year.

:) I put all of mine in the dining room - and shut the door!!!! It's a disaster in there, but "out of sight, ...."!:)

I finally got the decorations put away about a week ago. I leave my village up until March 1st though, to me it's a winter decoration and not just for Christmas and since I like it up I leave it up.

I had been turning the lights on the tree day and evening until about 3 nights ago. I just enjoy it so much, and I didn't care what anyone driving by thought about it. They didn't have to look in the window. :)

But I did take the ornaments off yesterday, and I'll help DH take the lights off and wrap them up and put them away later today. He'll take care of the tree, then I'll vacuum and put the furniture back and we'll be done.

Never did get any outdoor lights up this year, DH was too busy. :(

We left our tree up later than usually this year because one of my children begged to keep it up all of January. We usually take it down right after new year's. I negotiated and down it went last weekend. I must admit it does look a little blah in that room now.

And I thought I was the only one...lol. I usually take mine down the day after Christmas but this year I was lazy and just took them down last Saturday. All but the tree was down weeks ago...

Everything inside was gone by New Year's but our outdoor lights are still up! They are just white lights so I hope they are not TOO offensive to our neighbours.:rolleyes1 I know it's kind of late but I do feel comforted knowing we are not the only ones with Christmas laziness still lingering.

These sort of posts are always so interesting to me.. Its like to me Christmas is done and gone. Once New Years has passed, my brain thinks ahead to the next holiday, next season.
I am happy that KMART has thier Christmas stuff for 90% off, picked up several things of wrapping paper:thumbsup2
