Anyone still have christmas decorations up?

Just got the tree down today. Working on the other decorations. Outside lights will come down tomorrow--too much snow and too cold to do it earlier.

Just took the wreath off the door, and replaced it with a snowman. I looked at the thing every day, but was too lazy to take it off, and walk it the 15 feet to the building.

I have a small tree, that hangs on the wall, and has different season smores ornaments. It is snow men, and will be Easter smores for spring, ered white and blue smores for summer, Halloween, and then Thanksgiving. So I guess I would be one of those that still has decorations up

I still have my electric candles in the windows, to me they aren't that christmasie (sp). What are your opinions. If it counts Valentines day is up.

The tree is down and all of the ornaments have been put away, but the outside stuff is still there. That's DH's duty, not mine! LOL

I had lights up, around our front porch yet.
We have a 110 yr old home, with the old fashion wrap around porch.

So yesterday, I climbed on the porch roof
through a hatch door, that is attached to my bedroom closet.
I tried shoveling off the snow on the roof, but it was
still very icy up there, and I didn't feel like tumbling off the roof.

So I went back down, took a dining room chair
and walked the wooden railing to get the lights off.
Most I could reach, and I got the plastic fasteners off.

Over the front steps, I pulled as hard as I could.
I realized the eve trough, wasn't going to pull off,
so I really yanked, and I broked the plastic pieces actually
and the lights came down.

Felt real good, after I got those lights down.

If my neighbors don't get Santa and his reindeer down by
Valentine's day,
I am going to send them a note.
I had to look at Santa last year on Easter Sunday.

Our tree and decorations are still up. We had company that stayed until after New Years. Then I got sick! Now, I and seriously thinking about my dear friend that says " As long as they are down by Valentines Day is her requirement". :rotfl:

We took our tree down New Year's weekend. Our outside decorations are still up because it is too cold to be taking lights off the roof. Hopefully DH will take the lights down by Easter.

Our tree is still up. We were admiring it this evening and decided that we like it and will leave it up until we get tired of looking at it. I imagine that we may have our first year-round Christmas tree...

Never did get any outdoor lights up this year, DH was too busy. :(
Ditto. But next year, you will be able to see my house from Mars. Oh, yes.

Took down tree, nativity set and garland on stairs Thursday night. Plan is to take down village tomorrow; and then put everything back in garage. I have a multitude of plastic crates in my living room right now.

Well its down, except for some little white lights. I think they're pretty with valentine decorations...

Everything is down here - except for the big Mickey & Minnie front door covering.. DD just doesn't want to take it down yet - since this is the first year that she had it.. She's hoping that "somewhere" out there she can find another one like it - that's not specifically for Christmas..:goodvibes

:rotfl:

I always leave mine up as long as I can until DH mentions it. :confused3
This year, I decided to leave them to at least a week after New Years.
All the decorations are down, but the tree is still there. :lmao: It is an artificial tree and I'm still trying to find a plastic bin to put it in!!

Does anyone think it's a total BUMMER that we wait ALL YEAR in anticipation for Christmas, stores have Christmas music playing before Thanksgiving, we decorate, and then Dec. 26th everyone acts like it never happened????

I say "BOO HISS!" The Holidays should be extended into January to wean us Christmas lovers off the holiday highs! :mic:

We finally got the outside decorations down today--had been too cold and snowy to do it up until now.

We did the trees and the other indoor decorations on the 2nd. I used to leave it up longer, but the truth is I hate taking it down and so I try to get it done and over with as soon after New Year's Day as possible.

I do have a village that occupies built-in bookshelves in my living room. It is Christmasy--but also wintry and it a huge job so I usually put it up early November and take it down sometime between St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

We also have candles in our windows that are dusk to dawn. I used to leave them up year round and then stopped for a while and now I think I am going to do that again--I really like the way it makes the house look from the outside--kind of welcoming.

I still have my tree up and everything else is in the dining room...we are moving so I want to organize and get rid of stuff so we are not moving the crap.

I also still have my decorations in my signature...I just love the lights and the Mickey wreaths that I hate to delete them.

They're down, but in a Rubbermaid tote in the dining room.

DH takes a box down everytime he journeys to the basement but there are still a few left.. He doesn't want me braving the stairs with a huge tote because I've already had pregnancy-induced clumsiness and fallen a few times. :rotfl:

Inside is put away but outside stuff is still buried under snow. Have been since before Christmas. When the first storm hit two weeks before Christmas they were predicting very high winds so I pulled the plug so that the inflatables wouldn't blow away! They've been buried ever since. Today I saw the the tops of The Precious Moments Nativity figurines I put out!

Everything is down, except the lights on the roof line. It had been to cold and now with DH's hurt knee, it's gonna be awhile.

And with his knee issues, if they have to stay up there til it's time to plug them in for next year, so be it. They are wired tight to the the eve so they aren't going anywhere. I don't do ladders very well and the way DH wires them up would confuse the heck outta DS15 to get them undone.

I have a wreath up on my chimney with a light shining on it because every time we had the time to get the ladder out and take it down, the weather wasn't cooperative. I also have an evergreen swag thing on my back doot. I'm not too concerned about either...I consider them more of a "winter" than a Christmas decoration, with the evergreen and all. I generally always leave my evergreen stuff up until February 1st. Then I put up the Valentine's Day stuff and after that we move into Spring!

Once Christmas is over, winter could be over as far as I am concerned.
