Hey guys...

Was the BWV three bedroom worth the points?

Does it seem nicer than the other rooms at BWV as far as upkeep/decor? Would you stay there again?

We would consider it for a family and friends trip.

Or I wonder if it would be better to have separate rooms for guests.

Did you stay in the two story three bedroom villa?; or the one story three bedroom villa?

Does anyone know how many three bedrooms there are at BWV; and what is the breakdown of one stories to two stories?

Are these hard to reserve if you are not a member of BWV in the 7 mo. window?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Cindy :cheer2:

We were lucky enough to get a BWV 3 bedroom once. They over booked at OKW and gave us a handicapped GV at BWV. It was right on the boardwalk and one level. It was very nice but not as big as OKW. It was great to be able to sit on the balcony and take in all the activity at night. I don't know if it is worth the points but we enjoyed it. I doubt we will get one again if we have to use our extra points. We didn't have to give up extra points since it was their mistake. For a large family group a GV is very nice. We almost always stay in one at OKW. I don't know how many they have at BWV but I know it isn't nearly as many as OKW. For a group that isn't family, I think more rooms is better. We usually take family and friends and like the GV but some people like more privacy.

I think there is only 6 or 7 GV at BWV. If you don't own at BWV, you'd probably need to get someone who does to make that reservation for you.

If I remember correctly there are 7 GVs at BWV. We had a 1 story 3 bedroom GV and although I enjoyed the experience, I would not do it again. First off it was a lot of points. Second, we were kept up every night by the games on the boardwalk. The view during the day was awesome and we did enjoy sitting on our huge balcony looking over the Boardwalk.

As far as cleaniliness goes it was awful, I was walking around on the floor which is hardwood and my socks were black so first I got out the broom and swept it and there was a huge pile of dirt, then I ended up mopping it. The whole villa was pretty dirty, but I don't think it has any thing to do with it being a GV, just poor housekeeping. The GV did have some extra touches like some plants and such.

You should really check out the OKW GV - they are 2 stories, with a landing on the second floor overlooking the first floor living area, intercom system. I guess the only downfall would be that I don't recall the second floor having any balconies. The first level has balcony access from the living room and master bedroom. The second level houses the other 2 bedrooms, each with their own baths. Maybe because there are 2 levels in these GV, it doesn't seem like you are ALL together ALL the time - privacy! These GV are actually located on the second and third floors of the buildings at OKW, so your balcony is elevated and there is no one above you except your guests. We enjoy these accomodations alot!! :goodvibes

We have booked a BWV GV for the week before Christmas - having a family reunion. We have also booked several two bedroom units and a few studios for people - using three years worth of points for three days! We won't be crowded, no more than 5 will be in the GV - are using it as a big gathering place.

The CM told me when we booked that there are 7 GV units at BWV, 5 of those are one story, and one of those is handicapped accessible. The points for the GV are 79 a night, while OKW is 38 a night for the same season. I really like OKW better for the space, but we went with BWV for the location and all rooms in the same building (plus we own there, so could do 11 month window).

We called day-by-day and had the good fortune to be the first caller each day for the CM. One of the days that we called in, I noted on the DVC Planning board that someone who called in at 9, but did not get to talk to a CM until a few minutes later, was not able to get a GV.

Is it worth it? I sure hope so!!

We have stayed in one of the two 2 story GVs. We have been in the one story units also. You are right that is a lot of points but we took 6 of our friends on a golfing vacation in December and we loved every minute of it. The 2 story units are on the 5th floor. If you are looking at the Boardwalk they are between the white pillars under the Boardwalk sign. The bedrooms upstairs are what would be the 6th floor if there were one. They are right next door to each other. The master bedroom is downstairs and there is a dining room table that easily sits 8. If I had my choice again I would rather have the 1 story unit. It has more balconies, an extra laundry room that is huge (in the 2 story unit the stackables are in the hallway upstairs) downstairs, and an extra closet in the entryway. The kitchen is also a little bigger. We have also taken family and gotten a couple of two bedrooms and a studio. We locked off the two bedrooms to make 2 one bedrooms and 2 studios so everyone has their own privacy. For my family we much preferred that as the privacy was more important than everyone being together in the room. I think it all depends on your group and what points you have available. There are only 7 GVs so you will probably need to call day by day if you do end up wanting one.

We stayed in a 2 floor GV at BWV several years ago. I can't say if it was worth the points because we were comp'd because of a DVC error, but I can say we all loved it. The view was great and the location is so convenient. I did have a problem with the layout of the first floor master bedroom. You cannot access the bathroom with leaving the room. You must cross a small hallway to get to the bathroom. This area is visible to anyone in the kitchen, living room or dining room. I don't know if this is the same in a one story GV.

The room was in good condition, however this was several years ago.

I think you have to think about how comfortable you'd be in the same living space with the others in your group. Separate rooms sometimes work out better.

My home is OKW and we have stayed in those GV's many times. We love OKW and usually vacation there. They are more spacious and I highly recommend. You may also want to consided the GV's at SSR.

But I do love the BW location.

Another vote for OKW GV!!!! Six of us stayed at one in November and the spaciousness was so welcome! Having three big bedrooms was nice but having FOUR bathrooms for 6 women was REALLY awesome when it came time to get showered and dressed for dinner. I have stayed at BW before (not in a GV) and I just prefer the layout of OKW a whole lot more. I like how easy it is to get outside and enjoy the resort without having to walk down long indoor corridors.
