Is anyone here on the Jenny Craig program? Just wondering...I just started on Friday and wondering if any Disfriends are also on the program...

ms. mouse -- sorry but i can't help you on opinions of Jenny Craig, but i'm wondered if you edit your thread title to show "Jenny Craig" you may get more attention from anyone following the program??

I am not but know of someone where I work who has done this along with her Mom and they have been very successful.

Best WISHes as you take on the job.

I have a friend who is on it now and is raving about it. (she has been on it for about a month and is down about 15 pounds already...)

I am starting the program at the end of the month once I get back from some road trips for work.

Perhaps we can check in with each other from time to time for encouragement??? Feel freem to PM me and let me know if you want to do something like that.

Goofyfan...

I am starting Jenny Craig again this Sunday - I already have my appointment. The last time I did it, I lost 40 pounds. I kept it off for about six years until I got pregnant. I started it again right before I got divorced and once the divorce went through I couldn't afford it anymore but lost about 20 pounds anyway (stress perhaps? :rotfl: ) Anyway, I've been lazy and gained about thirty pounds in the last three years. I'm ready to lose it! Actually I'm going to try for about fifty pounds this time. I'm figuring that I will at least have 25-30 pounds off by my Disney trip in December. That's my goal anyway. I'll be happy to be your cheerleader! :cheer2:

I did it a LONG time ago. I did lose. I lost 25 pounds and kept it off for 3-4 years. I was down to my goal weight for the first time in my life~!

Now I have had 2 kids (we adopted the 3rd so can't blame him for weight gain/pregnancy!) and have a more sedentary life.

I also have to cook for a family so it makes it harder.

Hey girls!! I am the Centre Director here at our local Jenny Craig. I do the program as well as teach it. If you have any questions, please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you with anything.

Ms.Mouse and Juliegirl1 how are you liking the program so far?

Hi Mandy! I actually ended up starting today. The day after I replied to the last message I had an emergency appendectomy. I was hoping that my appendix would weigh about 20 pounds :rotfl: but no such luck! Believe it or not, I gained weight (probably all that yummy hospital food - NOT!) I am attributing the weight gain to water retention because I haven't eaten in about ten days and I was on an all liquid diet in the hospital.

Unfortunately I am on a very restricted exercise plan right now and will be for about a month. I figured I might as well start JC anyway since I can't really spend a lot of time standing (cooking) and who knows, maybe I will still drop some weight with the low cal meals even without exercise.

Thanks for your offer of assistance - I may take you up on it as questions arise. Here are my stats to keep me motivated!

start date 9/26/07 - weight 190.2 lbs Goal weight - 145 lbs - 45.2 to go!

That is awesome!! Well not the appendectomy but that you got started today. Definitely let me know if you have any questions or just want support :)

Oh and I see we will be at Disney at the same time!! I am staying at All Star Sports!

I'm thinking about trying Jenny Craig, my sister in law did it and lost a lot of weight. I'm on a mission for the next 7 weeks to lose some weight for my wedding. I was thinking about doing the at home program because the closest center is about 45-55 minutes away. How about the costs?

Hi Everyone,

Last week, I went to my first consultation and am now on day 5 of my new eating plan. So far, it is going really well and the food is pertty yummy (I love the chocolate cake!!!!).

I'm still working through some of the details and carry my menu with me every time I eat to be sure that I am eating the right thing. I'm sure this phase will pass as I get used to the program.

My next appointment is on Saturday so we will see how the first week went, but I am excited....

Cost ranges depending on whether your center is corporate or a franchise...I would guestimate that your startup is anywhere from $20 to $400 plus weekly food which is $100ish a week. If you cut out dining out, starbucks and things like that, it's no more expensive than just grocery shopping.

That is fantastic! And can I just say I started typing this 2 hours ago and just found that I didn't finish it, lol. Great job with everything. How do you like the food? Lemon cake is my fav!! With cool whip and blueberries YUM!

I haven't tried the lemon cake yet, but it sounds yummy... So far the food has been pretty yummy. I can see a few places where some simple tweaks in its preparation (with some of the free foods) can really change things up. Any foods I should stay away from?

Try the new creative recipes cookbook, it has a bunch of different ways of tweaking you JC food. Like Lettuce wraps YUM!!

Tonight I had fajitas and apple crisp for dinner. I am well within my healthy weight range so I haven't HAD to follow JC but starting this past Monday the girls and I started to focus so I have been on it all week. In saying that, being on and off since July I have lost 6lbs and 6.5"...without really trying so I am excited to buckle down a bit.

Stay away from bananas and mesquite chicken...gross. Bananas are the worst choice you can make for fruits.

Thanks for the tips. I'll stay away from that chicken... I'll check back on Saturday after my first weigh in.

Thanks for the support and good luck with your upcoming goals.

I just noticed you are in upstate NY too...you aren't one of my clients are you?:rotfl:

I have my first weigh in on Sunday - by my scale I have lost four pounds! Of course I know that I can't really go by that but at least I've lost something.

I am a super picky eater and have already scratched off over half the foods. I hate beans and broccoli and every other item has one of those two things on it. I wish they would bring back the teriyaki steak. My center doesn't have the apple crisp which sounds sooo yummy. I could eat the chocolate cake every day for my snack. I also like the pizzas and the chicken fajitas.

Ok you guys - where in Upstate NY are you? My ex-husband is from Oswego and I used to go up there and to Rochester and Syracuse all the time.

Congrats!!

The apple crisp was a seasonal item that is no longer available...your center may have run out of it. The teriyaki salmon is coming back next month :)

I'm in Rochester
