Anyone not loving Adam Lambert?

I've read more than once on this thread that a new thread had to be started so everyone can bash Adam uninterruptedly. So it's alright for all the Adam-haters to go on and on and on about how much they hate him, but the moment someone disagrees and thinks he's awesome (and that the bashing's gotten to be over the top) they have to run away to start a whole new thread where there are "no Adam fans allowed!" :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously, if that's what people find fun then... have fun :confused3

The moment someone disagrees with them??? Are you serious? This has been going on for MONTHS and someone finally starts a 'not loving Adam' thread the week before the finale and they are dismissed as being impulsive with a "hater" comment tossed in.

And then you wonder why this thread was started....

In the end, it shouldn't be a matter of whether you like Adam or hate him for your own reasons. What matters is whether you think he is better than Kris, or Kris is better than he. Kris is good, and has gotten better, and based on this past week's performances, I probably would have voted for Kris. Let's actually wait and see how good their performances actually are, next week, before deciding which one "did" better next week. Kris' talent isn't very deep. He's an amateur who perhaps has gotten lucky recently, while Adam's talent is mostly polished and professional. If Kris surprises us (again); great. If he disappoints us, then Adam should win easily, because with Adam, a great performance isn't a surprise.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

It gets funnier and funnier how blind people are to who's starting trouble in the other thread. Did you miss all those "I hope he comes out in drag! America's done! Down with Adam!" posts over there, which cracked me up as well. I've said more than once that I like both the contestants and don't give a you know what who wins. But seriously, the other thread has become a contest over who can hate Adam more, and it's pathetic how over-the-top the hate can be for a nice guy no one even knows. The word "hater" was brought up once as a joke, and I do find it HILARIOUS that people are so hypersensitive to what a bunch of strangers talking about a random reality show say that they actually have to vent about it ;) Anyway, I don't know any of you people or Adam. If you want to spend your time obsessively talking bad about a contestant on a reality show you supposedly can't stand on the AI thread, and then come over here and do it some more, knock yourselves out :thumbsup2

Adam's version sounded nothing like Michael Buble's. He did Muse's version which was far and away better than any of the others. I'm a big Muse fan so just sayin' ;)

Have you watched Michael Buble's concert DVD version? I compared Adam's performance to Michael's concert version.....not the CD version. The whole performance....the inflections during singing, coming down the steps, the staging, the lighting...everything was exactly the same as Buble's version during his concert tour/DVD from four years ago. Maybe you should watch it (Adam certainly has!) and then tell us what you think.

Then Michael Buble got his entire performance from Muse, who did it back in 2001. From the inflections to the staging and lighting, to the music itself, it was all Muse, who's version is awesome! Watch it, it's good!

Some of us on this thread - including the OP, apparently - have never visited the Idol thread. We have no idea what goes on there, and don't really care, which is why we don't post there. On the other hand, the OP asked a specific question about whether anyone else doesn't love Adam and that's what we are answering on this thread. Given the title of the thread, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise if most of the posters on this thread aren't big Adam fans. I don't think there's anything "obsessive" about sharing our opinions on here, but I do think it's a tad over the top for people to come to this thread to defend him and keep referencing the other thread while they do it.

Different styles and voices appeal to different people, and we don't all have to like the same things. You aren't "right" because you like him, and I'm not "right" because I don't like him. If he wins Idol, it means that the majority of voters like him best next week. If Kris wins, it means the majority of voters prefer him next week. That doesn't mean that the fans of one or the other are "wrong" for liking them, and it doesn't mean that everyone who dislikes the winner is "wrong". I don't understand why everyone seems to take this whole thing so personally. The fact that some of us don't see the appeal of a performer you enjoy shouldn't matter to you any more than it matters to me if you dislike my favorite performer - we just have different taste in music.

Exactly :thumbsup2 I'm not even talking about random posters. People like who they like, and it doesn't matter. I'm not even defending Adam, I'm just pointing out how funny it is that some of the posters who obsessively hate Adam on the AI thread and complain when anyone likes him, are now here talking about him even more. I'm home sick now which is why I even have time to come on the boards (I haven't been on in weeks!), so I just thought it was weird how big of a turn the mood of the original AI thread had taken, and how it's spreading through the boards ;) I like both finalists and don't care who wins - I don't even know know if I'd listen to either of their music down the line  It's a reality show, nothing more. It's just that if you're going to feed off of each others negative energy on the other AI thread, and then continue to talk about it over and over and over again... I just find it entertaining.

If that's the case, then I stand by my original post here that said I don't believe Adam is at all original or creative, or that he makes the music "his own". Copying Muse, copying Buble....the name doesn't matter; he doesn't appear to have the ability to do something original. IMO Adam will go down the same road as Reuben Studdard and Fantasia...no where.

It's not that I like any of the contestants or not. I have more of a disappointment over what AI has become over the years. The year Kelly Clarkson won was the best, purest competition, IMO. It's too bad to see what AI has evolved into, and that the viewing public doesn't demand more than a popularity contest.

Just because Reuben and Fantasia aren't played on the radio stations you listen to, doesn't mean they have gone nowhere. Adam may not end up on your radio station but I do believe he is going to do very, very well.

NONE of the AI contestants are original. All of the so-called "original" AI contestants took lesser-known covers of popular songs and played them off as their own. Chris Daughtry sang Live's version of "I Walk the Line" and got credit for being original. David Cook sang Doxology's version of "Eleanor Rigby" and Chris Cornell's version of "Billie Jean" and got credit for being original. Just last week Kris sang The Fray's version of "Heartless" and got credit for being original. If you're going to put down one contestant for using another performer's version of a song, you've got to blame them all. The only semi-original song this season was Adam's "Ring or Fire," love it or hate it

I thought Adam's disco song was somewhat original too. Anyone know of a similar version?

I think I'll just stick with answering the original question...Yes I am not liking Adam Lambert. ;)

During the first season, there were a LOT of original interpretations of long established songs. Kelly and Justin consistently put their stamp and style on their performances.

I started watching the second season, and was disillusioned by the packaging of the contestants AI started to do, as well as obvious biases on the part of the judges. I wasn't interested in watching something that IMO was no longer a singing contest, so I stopped watching. I didn't watch again until this current season.

This year I watched because Danny Gokey and I have a mutual friend. I've been to Danny's church, where he's the music director, several times, and I knew what a talented man he is. I'm happy for him that he received national exposure, and now that he's off of AI he's free to be himself, sing music he's comfortable with, and not be beholden to AI. I believe his renedition of "You Are So Beautiful" was one of the few original song interpretations we've heard on AI this season. I personally do not care for Adam's style. To me, he's too much of a showman, and he comes off as arrogant. This is my opinion; I know a lot of people don't agree, and that's okay.

It was wrong of me to say that Adam's (and Fantasia, and Ruben's) careers will go no where. I see Adam doing Broadway like Fantasia, and having a successful stage career. I don't forsee him enjoying the same success as Kelly Clarkson or Chris Daughtry, but time will tell.

I am most annoyed by the judges treatment of him, which isn't even his fault. Even Adam fans can admit there has been some definate bias this year. He has been proclaimed the winner for a while now- he was even on the cover of my EW magazine- all alone, and before the finale. I feel like he is just being pushed to hard.

The judges treat him like that because no one as talented as he is has ever competed on AI before. For Simon to want Adam to win speaks VOLUMES. :thumbsup2

Can't say I like him or dislike him...I have no clue who he is.

I am not a fan. I know he has talent, but the high-pitched shrieking and sticking his tongue out while he is shrieking really turns me off.

And I LOVE rock! I just saw Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction in concert this week!

But Adam is not for me.

so you're definition of fun is obsessively putting down a random guy you don't know, and hiding away in your own little private thread so no one can disagree? There was never a problem with discussing who you don't like :confused3 People have been saying it from the beginning. But the name-calling in that thread was getting childish, catty and ridiculous. If you hate Adam, fine. I couldn't possibly care less. He's a contestant on a reality show... I don't know him in any way, shape or form. But when people start playing the "woe is me" card when they're the ones starting trouble to begin with then yes, I do find it hilarious. But again, if you find obsessively talking about someone you don't like over and over and over and over again, then putting down his fans, and then starting a whole new thread to talk about him again and again and again and again... have fun :thumbsup2 (We just have very different definitions of fun ;))

The only name calling in the AI thread came from the Adam supporters--what you posted above is only a partial list. Others include low, immature, hater and ignorant.

There was no "woe is me" on the thread and the trouble is the rabid Adam supporters inability to have a conversation or express their views without denigrating people.

I completely agree with Nancy and understand what she is trying to say. The fun of the AI thread USED to be that we'd all express our opinions good and bad -- and not be ridiculed for it. There was lots of name calling and ripping of KLC last year and Tatiana and Bikinigirl this season. Were those posters called "haters"? No. No one liked those singers so I guess that makes it ok.

But for some reason several of the people who love Adam LOVE HIM and will not tolerate any sort of other opinion. If we express it we are dismissed as "haters", told we just don't "understand" certain aspects of music, or even suggest we are homophobic. It is insulting, some of us are sick of it, and we are venting. Thanks for finding it "hilarious".

The difference you seem to be missing is that we are ripping on a *contestant*. You are complaining about US. Huge difference. We didn't "start" anything. We are talking about contestants on a TV show. That is what the thread is FOR. But some people take not liking Adam as some personal affront. Why? I have no idea.

:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ok it was an Adam supporter who said that they hope he comes out in drag after another poster said they hope he tones it down to pick up the Danny voters and another one said that he needs to find something that will appeal to everyone. At this point a Kris supporter said that if he dressed in drag it would mean more votes for Kris because lots of people wouldn't like it. The reply to that was "I hope he does come out in drag and blows everyone away as his fabulous self"

Hater was brought up more than once and there was no joking about it--Heck when I specifically stated that I didn't think it was necessary an Adam supporter went out of her way to find lyrics from a song that stated that haters weren't wanted.

Wanted to put this here for all the people who haven't visited the AI thread so they don't think that we're doing nothing but bashing Adam over there--The worst comments about Adam have mirrored those on this thread and have been in regards to the screeching and the blatant bias from the judges whereas the Adam supporters have said that Kris looks like a hobbit and Cornelius from Planet of the Apes(but we're the mean ones :confused3)

I am not a fan. I know he has talent, but the high-pitched shrieking and sticking his tongue out while he is shrieking really turns me off.

Ssshhhh!! What you just posted will get you told that you have a right vs wrong mentality and that you don't really like rock because if you did you'd like Adam but also that you don't like the right kind of rock.;)

You prove my point with the childish and catty comments with every post :thumbsup2 No one ever said you couldn't like Adam. I don't give who you do or don't like. It's the rabid Adam-haters who flip out as soon as someone says they're a fan  Either way, I'm done. Have fun!

Ok,now I'll be catty...The above comments that you quoted were yours originally

:scared1: :lmao:
