Anyone not loving Adam Lambert?

(No offense meant, Robinrs - the whole "hater" thing is just a pet peeve of mine. Though I'm sure you don't mean it that way, it always comes across as very dismissive to me, as though other people's opinions aren't valid simply because they are "haters".)

I only disagree with the bolded part. I think people who call others "haters" mean it EXACTLY that way. It is dismissive, condescending, and childish. Period.

I for one am glad this thread is here. I think Adam can sing but have had it up to my eyeballs with the screeching.

I'm gonna begin to think I'm the only Adam Lambert fan. I absolutely love him

He's extremely talented & puts on a spectacular show. His vocals make him who he is. I think it's amazing. I can't wait to see him in concert.

You're not the only one who likes him!! I do!! I completely agree with your post. He's been my favorite since the beginning of this season.

Make that two of us!!!

Count me as another fan of Adam's. Love his voice, love his performances, love his style of clothing, love his humbleness.

eta: He does NOT screech or scream, he's actually singing those high register notes - not many people have the ability to control their voice like Adam does.

I am not a fan of Adam either.

The other night I was feeling very lightheaded and dizzy because of allergies, and I couldn't even listen to Adam's 'performance' because of all the screeching/screaming. I honestly think it made it worse, actually.

Adam honestly seems like a super sweet and nice guy, I just do not like his performances.

Wow, this may be my longest thread ever! I like Adam, he is talented, but I think he is wasting alot of that talent with the screeching. Yes, the screeching is high and controlled, but its still screeching. I am most annoyed by the judges treatment of him, which isn't even his fault. Even Adam fans can admit there has been some definate bias this year. He has been proclaimed the winner for a while now- he was even on the cover of my EW magazine- all alone, and before the finale. I feel like he is just being pushed to hard. My family were Danny fans until Kris's performance of Heartless. I hate that song when it comes on the radio but he just completely changed it. We haven't voted all season (we never do) but we'll max out for Kris next week because I think he is more promising.

I post on the Idol thread all the time and they all know I don't like him. I have to say that no has called me a hater or ignorant. They may think I'm nuts but for the most part the majority of the regulars on there understand that not everyone shares the same tastes in music.

I'm sorry that some felt like they couldn't post their thoughts over there...that thread is where the show is talked about so everyone is entitled to say what they think and no one should be putting anyone down for not liking their choice.

I was looking for a Grey's thread when I found this one. Was all the bashing on the AI thread not enough?? It's very funny how hypocritical everyone can be - you don't like fans of his saying he's awesome, so you run away and start your own thread to bash him and his mean ol' fans The fact that people are getting so worked up over a talented guy on a reality show is absolutely hilarious And I do have to agree with Robin on this one - hate him or not, you've dedicated an entire thread to a guy you supposedly can't stand When I truly can't stand something I don't talk about it over and over and over again. The same people obsessively bashing Adam on the AI thread are now over here. It's a REALITY SHOW people. If you don't like him, don't vote. The world won't end if he wins or loses. Take a deep breath and move on... although I do find it hilarious that you're spending so much time talking about him - he's already a huge star!

see this is why people feel like they need to have a separate thread...the Idol thread was meant to discuss the show and that means all aspects of including who you don't like. Doesn't mean people all have to agree but that doesn't mean they should be talked down do or ridiculed because of it. I just don't get it. This is turning what was a fun thread, meaning the Idol thread, into something not so much fun anymore.

But again, if you find obsessively talking about someone you don't like over and over and over and over again, then putting down his fans, and then starting a whole new thread to talk about him again and again and again and again... have fun (We just have very different definitions of fun )

First I don't hate Adam and never put down his fans, I think he has talent but I don't like his style of singing. I removed my comments because when I reread them they did sound really petty and childish and that is not me at all. So I am apologizing for what I said.

I'm a huge fan of Michael Buble. When I saw him in concert three years ago, he opened the show with "Feeling Good." Adam's renedition was a carbon copy, as was the staging, coming down the steps, the lighting, etc....I couldn't believe what I was seeing. If you compare Buble's concert DVD to Adam's presentation, they're almost interchangeable. So much for creativity and "making it your own".

Adam's version sounded nothing like Michael Buble's. He did Muse's version which was far and away better than any of the others. I'm a big Muse fan so just sayin'

So it's alright for all the Adam-haters to go on and on and on about how much they hate him, but the moment someone disagrees and thinks he's awesome (and that the bashing's gotten to be over the top) they have to run away to start a whole new thread where there are "no Adam fans allowed!" I completely agree with Nancy and understand what she is trying to say. The fun of the AI thread USED to be that we'd all express our opinions good and bad -- and not be ridiculed for it. There was lots of name calling and ripping of KLC last year and Tatiana and Bikinigirl this season. Were those posters called "haters"? No. No one liked those singers so I guess that makes it ok.

But for some reason several of the people who love Adam LOVE HIM and will not tolerate any sort of other opinion. If we express it we are dismissed as "haters", told we just don't "understand" certain aspects of music, or even suggest we are homophobic. It is insulting, some of us are sick of it, and we are venting. Thanks for finding it "hilarious".

The difference you seem to be missing is that we are ripping on a *contestant*. You are complaining about US. Huge difference. We didn't "start" anything. We are talking about contestants on a TV show. That is what the thread is FOR. But some people take not liking Adam as some personal affront. Why? I have no idea.

As the OP on this one, you are way off base. As far as I know, I have not visited the AI thread- I really don't care THAT much about it. I think that every year the judges have their favorites and push that contestant as hard as they can and this year they have been pretty bad at hiding it. Adam seems to be an okay guy and has some talent, but he's not the Holy Grail of popular music that so many seem to think he is. I certainly don't hate him, and I am not talking about it over and over- this is my 3rd post on a 5 pg thread. In case you didn't know, conversations on the boards are a little drawn out because they happen with a large number of people who do not respond instantly- I have been thinking about and talking about lot of other things today.

You can say he's awesome all you want-I am not offended. I do think that the attitude of some of his supporters on this thread have only reinforced the belief that anyone who doesn't like the guy should probably stay off the AI thread. I think its hilarious that some people have so much invested in a reality show contestant that they feel the need to be defensive. As far as I know, Adam isn't sharing a cut of the winnings with anyone.
