Anyone not loving Adam Lambert?

I don't want to ruffle feathers because I know how irritating is can be to see a thread simply to state dislike for something (Twilight) but IS there anyone else who thinks Adam Lambert is just aweful? I am not really a fan of anyone else, I just can't believe so many people really like the way this guy sings. I like rock, he seems nice, but screaming doesn't equal range and showmanship doesn't equal talent. I am not saying he shouldn't win but I would say that the judges praises have been way over the top all things considered. Am I alone on this one?

He's entertaining to watch, though. He is very talented, but he's not my favorite, and I don't like how the judges continue to tell him he is going to win. I think he's gotten a little cocky because of it.

Yeah, that show I see it. In the few performances that he didn't shriek, he was very good. Now, its like he incorporates those screams into everything. The cover of U2 was just

It makes us crazy because he can sing but chooses to shreik. The first part of "One" was really good but then he went off and it was awful. When he sang "Rign of Fire" we had to mute the tv! But when he was singing the National Anthem during his home town visit, he sounded really nice. I just don't get singers who think that sounds good but I guess enough people enjoy it to make them successful.

I will be voting for Kris!

Adam totally butchered an Aerosmith song last night.

I like Adam, but its the same screeching note he puts into every song, and well it doenst work in every song. I know hes going to win, but he isnt my first pick.

I liked the Matt Giraurd from Michigan, the piano bar guy. Im not sure why, but I found him adorable.

There are not enough adjectives to properly convey just how much I cannot stand this guy. He and the way the judges have constantly kissed his behind have ruined this season for me.

I feel like I am in some alternate reality when I hear all the praise heaped on the guy. I am clearly not hearing what others are. He always leaves me cold. Watching him is like watching a 7 year old perform. He's in tune and can perform all the moves he's practiced so carefully but there is nothing REAL there. There's no heart or soul or whatever that mystical quality performers have that make them great.

I agree, when he did Ring of Fire I thought my ears were bleeding, but when he did Tracks of My Tears I was awestruck!

That is his chosen style--mid 70's glamrock. Will it sell, today? Only time will tell.

I so agree with you.

I do think he can sing when he just sings. However, he rarely ever "just sings".

I think the judges reaction to the vote tonight was insulting to Kris.
Personally, there is no one to match David Cook from last season. To see the judges fawn all over Adam is just too much. I'm sure he'll win and I'm sure he'll do well with whatever his style is. It just isn't for me although he seems like a nice enough guy.

I agreed with Simon Cowell's assessment of that Ring of Fire performance. Having said that, I think he has talent by the bucketload if he would just use it to its full potential. His crowd-pleasing antics / musicianship balance needs re-adjusting, and this week he was boring in both respects - he could have done a much better job covering U2 than he did (not that he did a Bad job). I thought that whereas the others lifted their personal games he sat on his laurels. In previous weeks he was a stand-out (for good reasons), this week he wasn't.

Still, the show is not about who is the best musician but who will sell the most tickets/albums.

I am usually an avid AI watcher, but IMHO, this season has totally BLOWN! I DO think Adam is talented and I believe he is the only one that will make an album that doesn't completely induce vomit, but given the competition, that's not really saying much!! Danny.....GOD, I AM GLAD HE IS GONE!!!!! Kris, how?? did?? he?? make?? it?? this?? FAR!!????? CUTE guy, but geez....my shower renditions of Always On My Mind are better than what he produces.
I think the judges did an awful job of "finding talent" this season. So awful, in fact, that I am not sure I will be diving back in for another season.

Adam is extremely talented. No denying that. But how he decided to convey his talent on AI is not my cup of tea. While I do like rock and roll and I do appreciate someone who can hit those notes...it seems that it was too much (for me at least ). Tonight I searched him on youtube and some of the results showed the talent I know he has.

I knew Adam would be in the final I was just sure Danny would be with him. While I think Kris is good I think Danny was better.

I wasn't terribly surprised to see the results tonight, to be perfectly honest, as much as I enjoyed listening to him. He looked too much like last year's winner to get any further, was my thought

Every time I watch I'm amazed at how BIG Adam is; he just doesn't *seem* that big until someone's standing beside him!

Adam has been consistently good, but the least two weeks he hasn't improved, and has actually declined some. Kris, on the other hand, has been improving steadily and is now my personal favorite. Adam had better get his stuff together for next week, or he'll be second place.

Me,me me!!!! I don't like his voice at all. I hate the screeching he does. I agree with you about the judges, they are SO over the top with their praise for him. To answer your last question, no, you are not alone.

My family cannot stand Adam. That screaming has ruined a few songs!

I do not like what Simon did so Adam could sing that song and then I REALLY hated that Katie Perry had Adam's name on her Elvis cape. I think that is SO unfair.

I was SO happy to see Kris in the top 2. I was so afraid the other judge favorite would be there....Danny. Did you see the look on the judges faces when their poor Danny was sent packing over Kris? They did not hide their disappointment at all.

I would LOVE for Kris to beat Adam. That would be awesome!!!

I see nothing wrong with anyone projecting their preference. At this point, even the judges are doing so.
