We once stayed in a BCV studio right next to an elevator. It was only a one-night stay, but it was unpleasant. I will say the noise lessened as the evening progressed, but I wouldn’t want to repeat the experience.

Ya, this is for a Hilton hotel and I have never seen this "room type" advertised anywhere before. But when it came down to being $5 less, that got my attention that something was off.

Definitely. If they are proactively discounting the room type, then you know they received multiple complaints in the past.
FWIW, DH and I recently stayed in a room next to the elevator and didn’t hear a thing. According to the hotel, we got upgraded to this room. In a different hotel, we stayed next to the elevator and heard it moving all night.
