I am debating on whether or not to bother this time. I really only use it for coffee in the morning...any advice?

We don't usually buy them, only because WDW doesn't offer the kind of pop we like (although they have Pibb on tap at the Contemporary -- ds and I love that and wish all the resorts would have it). We just buy pop at the grocery store or the Hess station and keep it in the room. :)

I'm sure the number of people that do buy the refillable mugs is in the minority. A very small minority at that.

For us, they just don't make sense. Even though they look large on the outside, they really don't hold a lot because they are insulated. So you wind up making many trips to the re-fill place. This gets old fast and you soon start deciding not to bother.

We don't buy them because we don't spend much time hanging around the resort drinking soft drinks. However, if you must have morning coffee, maybe you should figure out if it will save you $ to buy the mug, instead of paying for coffee each morning.

For years we religously bought one for each of us. I'd use it for the first 2 days then couldnt be bothered going back to room with it, before going to the parks, or taking it with you etc.
So the past few times, we've only bought 1, to keep as a memento.

We never buy them. My kids don't drink soda or fruit punch, I hate having to wash and return them to the room or carry it around all day.

I buy 1 cup of coffee every day, DH doesn't drink coffee at all, they will give you small paper cups for water.

We never buy them. We just don't drink enough coffee or soda to make it worth the time and effort, and as a previous poster said, they are much smaller inside than they look from the outside.

It depends. We got them a few times but if our room is really far from food court it isnt worth it because you have to bring them back to room or lug to parks where you cant use them. We tried Brita water bottles but again there is the lugging them around. We will be making a grocery stop on way to resort this time and get juice, milk and case water so I dont think we will get them this time.

I also do not purchase the mugs anymore. everytime I hike back to the room to drop off the mugs, my husband ( who is at the bus stop) always says we just missed our bus because I had to go back and drop the mugs off. We just buy a couple of large soda bottles and just use the ice and glasses in the room. We are not coffee drinkers so it works out well. sometimes I will buy a mug just as a souviner to use at work:cool1:

We rarely buy them now either. I used to get hot tea in the early am in them unless we were at BCV or in concierge but now with the coffee pots in the room no longer need to do that.

We stop and buy Diet Rite, coke, wine and beer and have our own supply.

Years ago the ice tea at the Polynesian was so good that it was worth a mug but no longer. It used to be a raspberry flavored tea but not sweet and very fresh tasting...it was great.

We don't buy the mugs anymore. For us, 4 x $12 = $48.00. For a minimum order of $50.00, we have groceries delivered (drinks and snacks). There's no walk to the food court (which can sometimes take 10-15 minutes depending on where you're saying). I'd rather have a cold drink in the fridge available when I want it than have to walk. And in the summer time, your ice is probably melted or all gone by the time you get to the room.

So, for $50 we have plenty of drinks, snacks and breakfast items.

I have one from the AKL I think - but I just don't drink coffee, just an occasional hot chocolate or soda (I'd rather spend my extra calories on chocolate!). Plus, you can often get 12 packs of soda for 2/5.50 over at Hess (we did that for my husband when we stayed onsite in December). That is a lot cheaper! I was over at the Hess yesterday near DD, they also had a cheese pizza option for $6.00 including a free 2 liter of soda. I bought a pizza there a few years back (it wasn't bad), but the 2 liter is currently a nice bonus for anyone buying!

I will probably only buy one for my DH, he is a coffee drinker and a soda drinker. I on the other hand rarely drink anything but water. So it would not be worth it for me, I'll just pack some bottled water for myself.

I bought them, but then again that's me, I collect mugs and coffee cups:thumbsup2
They did come in handy when we walked around or by the pool. The kids drink alot and loved the slushy's at the POP, DH drinks alot of Diet Coke so he would fill both of our mugs, bring it to room put them in his cup then the kids would fill them with slushy's.!;)

As far as coffee, I'm a big coffee drinker, if I don't have my coffee first thing, don't even talk to me, my DH says my Grumpy shirt is so me:rotfl:
My recommendation, if coffee is all you'd be really drinking, is don't worry about buying the cups. You could buy a small 4 cup coffee maker at Walmart and reuse it everytime you go on vacation and save alot of money that way!
I actually had bought a Sunbeam Hot Water despenser at Walmart, works great, I would heat the water up in the morning for a quick cup of Folgers coffee bag coffee, would get me buy til we went somewhere. Also worked great for a quick cups of hot chocolate for the kids or instant oatmeal and grits in the morning(if your a saver like me), the more I save, the more the kids have for the arcades and souverneirs(sp)!!;)
Hope this ramblin this morning makes sense and helped, just having my second cup and the kids are home from school today, I'm going bananas, but gotta love them!;)

Most of the time we don't, but the last two years the kids got them and I got one last year. We've stayed for 16 nights the last two years so it's not such a bad deal. Most of the time we just bring soda with us and drink it that way.

We've never bought them. Although we should have on our first trip. :confused3

We didn't buy them on our last trip, because it really wasn't necessary. We were concierge guests, and the kids just ran up to the lounge and grabbed a soda out of the fridge in there. My oldest always made himself a hot chocolate from the neat coffee machine. He was LOVING that.

My DH and I bought them on our first day at POP. Our room was not ready yet, so we decided to spend the afternoon at EPCOT and catch our 4:00 Biergarten ressie. We checked our lugggage, but foolishly thought our mugs would be safer with us. Well, after a big stein each of beverage at Biergarten, we left our mugs at our table at Biergarten! Needless to say, we did not buy another pair, and every time we bought a soda at the food court, we grimaced with remorse! In terms of value--if you drink a lot of soda, etc, it's a great deal. If not, the DDP includes a drink, so if you are planning to do the DDP, you might not need the mugs.

We bought them the first time because we thought we'd save money. We didn't. We ended up realizing they were a hassle. We had to wash them out in the bathroom sink (no dishwashing liquid - Yuck!), so we really had to keep track of the person they belonged to. It was a hassle to have to go back to the room to put them up after a meal so you wouldn't have to carry them around. We used them a bunch the first couple of days and then just didn't bother with them for the rest of the trip. They really just became mugs for the house. The next trip, my husband bought them before I could stop him ---so we have another set of mugs for the house. We only used them the first time. On all subsequent trips, we just don't buy them.

if staying at any resort other than FW camping....we buy refillable mugs.

when camping at that fort, it is just too much of an effort to get to the places where you can fill them and we usually have drinks a plenty at the campsite.
