I would love to know what the weather was like and what you wore;) I am trying to pack for 6 people right now, and the task is overwhelming. We leave in 3 days, and we live in really cold MA. So I really don't want to pack 2 different wardrobes for 6 people IYKWIM... any help would be great!

Our first family vacation to WDW! Feb 12th-24th!

We just got back on Sunday and the weather wasn't too bad. We didn't bring heavy coats, just sweatshirts/light jackets. You can always layer and take off/put on as the day goes on. We did pack 1 pair of jeans and I wore capris, no shorts. But the kids wore shorts everyday.

Just look at the forecast for Orlando on accuweather.com before finally deciding what to pack.

Have fun on your trip!!

ok, I just got back last night and I don't live very far from you....If this coming week is a bit warmer then last week you will be lucky, cause it was cold! Mornings were chilly, needing a sweatshirt or sweater to start the day. If the day was getting into the 70's (which last week many didn't) you can get away with shorts or capri's/jeans a tee and a sweatshirt layered. then as the day gets warmer take off the sweatdhirt. Warmest part of the day is around 2-3pm. If your going out at night you may need jeans, slongsleeve shirts and sweatshirts to layer. I had several layers on and was still cold at EMH nights, It got down to the 40-50's. I know its tough having to pack for all different temps, I packed a couple each of tees, shorts, long sleeve, short sleeve, jeans and sweatshirts and used them all (then did laundry and started all over) Sorry, the temps are just swaying so much....Oh if your hands tend to be cold you may want some cloth gloves for late nights....

Just got back yesterday and I'm sorry to say -- pack everything! We were there Feb 1st to 6th. Feb 2nd Thursday was beautiful -- sunny and warm -- shorts weather. Feb 3rd Friday it rained all day but stayed warm until late afternoon -- ponchos all day. It cooled off in the evening. Feb 4th Saturday it rained in the morning but stopped in the late morning -- we were comfortable in jeans and long sleeved shirts. We needed sweatshirts in the evening. Sunday the 5th was cool, long sleeved shirts all day long and sweatshirts on and off all day. I even put on a jacket in addition to a sweatshirt on 4yo DS for MK evening EMH!

Starting tomorrow for the next 5-7 days - High in the upper 60's to 70. Lows overnight in the middle 40's. It will cool off very quickly once the sun goes down.

SO, do you guys think that if I pack a tshirt. a sweatshirt, and pants for each day, that that would be sufficient? Or should I pack another layer? We are used to severe cold. lol. This past Sunday it was 40 and sunny out, and everyone was walking around in tshirts. I was kind of looking forward to the water parks, but we wiil be there for 2 weeks so maybe it will warm up. Thanks for the info everyone!

Granted, your definition of cold and my definition of cold are probably not in the same dictionary! :cold:

Layers are the very best idea, like you said. Take a backpack and rent a locker to hold various unneeded layers until they are needed again. Like my grandmother always said, "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it!"

Have a good trip.

I'm from the cold North East and I'm sorry to say it, but 40 down there in the high humidity feels colder than the 40 up here when it's dry.
So, for this time of year I'd pack jeans, short sleeved shirts, sweatshirts and a windbreaker. Start the morning off in jeans, a T, sweatshirt and windbreaker and take each layer off as needed throughout the day. I usually tie the shirt/jacket around my waist, so no locker needed. I don't wear shorts unless it's over 80 down there. Up here I wear them over 70. :confused3

I got back on Monday. In the day you can swing shorts (even in the AM it isn't bad) but you will need a sweater (and probably jeans) after 6pm

I agree with Quickgold. We were there Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it was very cool in the evenings. Jeans and sweaters or decent jackets was in order.

There were no crowds anywhere except at the Magic Kingdom. We did AK first thing Saturday and walked right onto Expedition Everest twice and Dinosaur once. MK was more crowded mid day - but not bad - and EPcot was positively empty both Saturday night and Sunday morning. Again, MK was crowded on Sunday.

And bring lots of layers...

My friend just got back from Disney on Saturday (we too live in MA) and she had her two children with her and was under the same pressure to pack...her girls are ages 3 and 6! She said by day they were GREAT in capri pants and tshirts and at night wore jean jackets and or sweatshirts but she said it was def. chilly at night so maybe go one step further and bring coats. Her kids DID use the pool though during the day it was in the 80's! SO NICE compared to MA! Have FUN!!

We also returned on Monday. I'll agree - that temp drops once the sun sets so you should bring everything!
Weather was a real bummer too, but that's expected this time of year -- it had been forecasted for awhile that it was going to be in the upper 70's low 80's then turned around on us days before going -- anywhere from low to high 60's

Just got back last night after another magical trip! Went from 70 to 30 back here in PA :sad2:

Like others have said, it was a bit cool. I had thought we would be in shorts more but my girls and I pretty much did capris with layers of tees and sweaters/sweatshirts that we took on and off throughout the day. We ended up carrying around our fleece jackets for evenings (got a locker most days and just stashed them in there till we needed them) and we used them quite a bit. The rainy days at the end of the week just made everyone feel even colder because we were so wet but fortunately the whole vacation wasn't like that.

I had only one pair of long pants with me and I wished I had packed more for returning to parks at night. But as long as you have various layers with you, it will be fine. Keep checking accuweather.....except for the full day of rain last week they were pretty much right on with temps.

Have a great trip!!
