sweet! we'll just have to have one big birthday celebration! so, what roles are you interested in? i'm thinking maybe hospitality or merchandise!

oh, i'm emily by the way!

hi everyone!! my name is Megan and I'm not 100% sure..well ya i am, lol I want the BBBoutique Hostess(sooo bad!!)..my parents always said if i didnt go into education i woulda gone into beauty school so if i dont get that role I can still do your hair when I'm there haha :) If not that I think my next options are Character Attendant, Vacation Planner, Hospitality, and then Full-Service foods..lastly rides/attractions.

i'm also kinda nervous b/c i know of 2 ppl that did the program, my suitemate did it 2 yrs ago but went with 2 friends from college and my roommate is doing it this fall and is going down with a friend from college so i guess i'm flying solo on this one but if i can meet great friends on here i wont feel as nervous!!

Hows everyone planning on getting there?? my mom said she'd like to fly down and i'm thinking how the heck am i going to pack in 2 suitcases?! lol i guess i have time to think that one over.

I'm Carla and I'll be 21 by the time the program starts. I'm hoping for Recreation. I really want to do waterslide attendant! I'm also checking off Hospitality, Full Service F&B, Attractions, & Character Attendant in no particular order yet.

I'll probably be driving down alone from SC, but I'm not worried about not knowing anyone. I'm super shy, but I also absolutely love meeting new people and finding new friends (they usually have to speak to me first though :X). I went 8 hrs away this summer without knowing 1 person, so I can do it again. When I'm working my shyness goes away though, and I can laugh and joke with anyone even if I've never seen them before in my life.

I think my first choice is hospitality, because its my major. But I think i'm also going to check merch, attractions, housekeeping, BB boutique (because that sounds soo fun!) and character attendant. Does anyone know if you have to take that swim test for recreation, like you do for lifegaurding? because the sheet says you could be assisting guests at waterslide operations... so I wasn't sure about that.

ya i was wondering that too b/c it said something about strong swimmer but for the boat rentals and pool they have lifeguards there that have taken the swim test so i have no clue lol. i wanted to do recreation b/c at one time it talked about the kids clubs were included but now its not so i'm going to shoot for something else.

The CP is a great experience. A good site for starting is www.wdwcollegeprogram.com (the main site). If you have any questions, I can try to answer them for you (I have done 3).

hey Joanna, are you doing the program again this spring? Thats so exciting that you've done the program 3 times! Have you taken any of the courses they offer? Did your school recognize the hours for credit? I'm going to talk to a career counselor this week.

Most likely I will not be doing the Spring program. However (depending on when I graduate) I will definitely be down for Summer 2008, and then either Fall 2008 (which would take out the Summer, if I finish in May) or Spring 2009. Hopefully you got that.:)

Yes, I have taken one of the courses. My first CP I did the Hospitality Management course, which was very interesting. And yes, my school gave me credit for the first 2 CPs (not the third one, which was just over the summer).

well its happened, i'm officially living on my own!!! my parents are letting me stay in their 3 bedroom condo at a ski resort thats 1/2 hr from my student teaching so its nice but soooo quiet bc ive lived at school for four years including all summers so I was used to being at school and this is a change. Mom and Dad just left and I don't know what to do with myself b/c i dont have friends around to go see lol. My mom of course was crying and i reminded her what she would do if i did the CP and she said "cry the whole way back to pittsburgh". lol. Ne ways, good luck to those of you that are starting school this week. I start my student teaching tmw!!!

Hi everybody!
I'm considering applying for the Spring 08 CP:cool1:, but I'm hesitant because of my circumstances. I would like to hear some of your opinions-- so bear with me as I try to explain this...

I went to a college that had accelerated programs, and Internships were NOT part of the curriculum. Because of this, the College received permission from the proper accreditation boards, to allow Graduated students to eligible AND officially participate in any Internship style program.

Now I've inquired about the WDW CP to my Career Adviser at the College, and she replied that I would be eligible, and she would be happy to draw up the necessary paperwork.:woohoo:

The only thing that really bothers me is would I still meet Disneys CP requirement of having to be currently enrolled? I believe I meet all of the other requirements.

In case any body's curious, I went to Full Sail in Winter Park, FL for Computer Animation. One of the major reasons for my interest in the CP is that I want to explore other opportunities that could be available that do not necessarily have to do with Computer Animation ( I'd like to keep all options open ). Plus, my Instructors always said to have something to fall back on in the chance that I'm not successful with Computer Animation. I may find something at WDW that I really like and want to pursue, but ultimately I would like to make a career out of Disney.

Jeez....I wrote a lot.:teeth:

uh. This anticipation is killing me!
are any of you guys planning on taking any of the classes? I've been e-mailing a career adviser at my school, and i found out I can't get credit for the classes, but i still want to take one. Prob. hospitality.

The Hospitality Management class is good. I took it during my first CP and enjoyed it.

Who else is getting tired of waiting for the e-presentation to go up?

Me (and I'm not even applying!). The new one is a lot better then the one they used to use.
