Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

There are new reports an Easywdw that say it's going to be stopped next week, but that's a rumor.

With everything being in such a state of Flux, it's best to make your FP+ reservations if you're staying onsite and IF you get Legacy FP, consider it a bonus. If you're offsite and want to do something crazy, like ride TSMM without an hour long wait, plan ahead!

"Quick question for anyone going with more then one family.
We are a family of 4 going with another family of 3. We have our reservations linked together. We were able to add each other to make dining reservations, but when it came to fast passes I was only able to make 5... (4 for my family and then one for the main member of the other family whose account we were linked to ) Now when she was able to make them she was only able to do 4 (3 for her family and one for me(the main member on our account)) So we called and disney said that it dropped each other members and they had to readd them which would take 1-2 weeks. So to get around this we made fast pass reservations and then the other would copy the fast pass reservations to each other family members. Is anyone else having this issue or have tried to do this to get around the fact that you cant make them all at once? "

I had this happen to me. 3 familes are going with us. we are linked and I could not make FP+ reservations for all of us. when I called and spoke with a very helpful CM I was told you only see the primary person on the reservation and any other adults you link. you cannot see or change other family's children's reservations. the CM told me the purpose of that was to leave the control of children's FP+ with their parents. so we had to go in and make reservations for each individual family then play with the times to make them match up.

Not sure how much to believe this but I had to call tech support today and the CM I talked to was very helpful with my issue so I decided to question more. According to him It was just announced December is still a testing month and we will still receive KTTW cards which will still allow us to get paper FP. Not after our FP+ s are used. Whenever we want with the old limitations still applied. Like I said there is a lot of info going around so I am not saying this is 100% thus is what I was told this morning.

And on wdwmagic the reports are that beginning Oct. 27, some resorts will stop issuing KTTW cards.

This info I heard tonight I, of course, take we a block of salt! But, I talked to a CM tonight, just asking a few questions. And the CM gave me the same info as you heard, jwilks56. He told me that yes, my 3 fp+ were limited to one park per day. I expressed my concern that I already had park hoppers but it didn't look like I could get FP's in the 2nd park. I asked about KTTW cards and if we were allowed to use them for paper FP. He said yes, of course. I said, well today I heard some info that sounds like they will be restricting the cards and may not be giving out KTTW's to all guests. First he said I should only believe what I see on the Disney MDX pages, lol. But, he also said they would give me a card or just be sure to ask for a KTTW card, anyone can get one if they ask. And he said the cards can be used to get paper FP, all thru Dec because they are still testing at least thru Jan 5th and have more bugs to work out. He said some people call it double dipping to help when they are park hopping. He said we want your trip to be magical and not to stressful concerning the FP's and magic bands. :goodvibes

We arrive 12-27, and just a few minutes ago I was able to access the FastPicks via the mobile app and make FP+ "selections". I use the term selections loosely because I can't BELIEVE the limited availability - for instance, it is telling me the absolute only ride available at 10 am on Saturday 12-28 is the Jungle Cruise. Really??!!

I wonder if my being able to access this right now isn't a glitch of sorts. I can't get it to work on the desktop, only the mobile app, and the only park I am given options for is MK.

When I try and go in on the desktop, it lists the parks but then tells me none of them are available for me to select from, something about only select tickets being available for this options.

All highly annoying.

We check in 12/27. I have been able to customize bands now. I tried to start FP+ selections but keep getting an error about dates on the website. On the APP I can select the day, select the guests and then it goes to let me select a park but under each park it says " Some Guests' tickets are not applicable" ???

We have annual passes bought and linked to each guest. They are not activated yet.

what do you think this means?

I also check in 12-27 and am getting the same error message and the message under the "Select A Park". I was able to make a few limited FP+ choices on the mobile app just a few minutes ago....which I am guessing is a glitch?

This is really annoying.

I have a solution for you. Go to your family and friends list. Make sure the one member of the other family is sharing all activities to you first. Then click add a guest.at the top instead of adding an email there is another option that says add a mutual their a mutual friend click this. There should be a drop down box with the one person of the other family. Select them. All the people in their friends and family list should appear and you pick one you don't have and it will say the other person controls them. Select them and finish and it will send an email to your main member asking to accept. Once they accept they will be in your list and you will be able to do fastpasses for all of them too, you will have to do one person at a time. Please note very important. The other main member has to have tickets linked for all hose people you will not see them even when your linked because you don't control them but you can do fastpasses still. Also the other main member needs to go to their friends and family list and at the bottom of the list select change settings and make sure to select to let the list public because if it is private you cannot do any of he above as well. Now one more thing make sure if you added the other members of her family that she controls that you delete them out of yours before you do any of this or you will have duplicates and IT will have to fix it for you. Your friend can do he same in reverse to get your family on hers as well noting the same important notes. It is confusing but easy once you do it once. Then one of you can do fastpasses for all of you at once at same time without copying.

If the rumours are correct, by the time we all arrive in December we may be locked out of using regular FP if we are part of the FP+ test. i.e. Disney may not issue us with KTTW cards at check-in and other loophopes are being closed.

if this is the case will people stick with FP+ or try to opt out of the test and just revert to good old legacy fast pass?

I don't believe the rumors for a second. There hasn't been any confirmation from Disney that they are even considering this move. Even the terms and conditions don't state that they are making guests choose between fp+ and fp-. In fact, there has been confirmation from CM's that KTTW cards will still be issued and we will still be able to get the legacy fast passes.

Your check in date of Dec 27th is outside of the 60 window. I think that once the 60 period is reached you will find that more things open up for you. :)

I agree with this but I wanted to add. When my60 days opened up my selections were also limited there were things like Fantasmic and ETWB that didn't open up til like 5 says after my 60 days.

I think that with all the reports of people not being able to get FP- times or them running out so quickly in the morning, I will stick with FP+ at this point. We are going the busiest week of the year and I want to be able to ride my favorites with as little wait as possible and if I don't get any others in, then that's ok. :)

100% agree with you. At least I get 3 FP. It could be worse.

I thought the source of the Oct. 27 date for no longer giving out KTTW cards (for select guests) came from an internal Disney memo?

I didn't hear that. But the whole idea of putting limits on the guests who pay the most money to come to WDW while giving off site guests huge advantages just doesn't make any sense at all.

I'm with you. So much in fact that I gave up $700 in value from old 2 day tickets I was going to upgrade when I got there and bought all new tickets to the tune of $1450 just so I could make fastpass+ picks.

It was a hard decision, but I.T. still hasn't been able to add them (7 weeks of waiting), they were only going to get me two days of fastpass+ until I got there. Who even knew what would be left when I got there? I paid so much for this dream Christmas trip and I was getting sick with worry that we wouldn't have access to old fastpass and there would be nothing left with fastpass+.

I can always use those two day tickets the next time once I have a better understanding of the system and maybe at a much lower crowd time.

In the end, although it pained me to add that much to the budget, I have finally relaxed about this trip for the first time in months. I have relative assurance that I can actually get my family on the rides we love when those Crowd level 8,9, and 10 days come during the last few days of the trip.
I had to cancel Hoop Dee Doo and a few others to recoup the funds but the extras just weren't as important. I couldn't go and tell my 9 year old who's so very excited that we just weren't going to get on Big Thunder or Test Track without a 3 hour wait, or worse... at all.
The joy is actually back in my planning now.

I'm getting the impression it's official. When it was posted here it was posted by "The Hub" which is the name of the Disney internal employee info system. I don't know or think it's actually from them, but the only posts on that user account are for this type of info, and they have been correct each time. It's looking pretty official to me that they are eliminating KTTW cards in some capacity starting on that date.

As far as putting limits on onsite guests, I think all of the reports and rumors of severely limited legacy fastpasses, and headliners being out of fastpass really early in the morning indicates that they are playing with the numbers they are leaving to be pulled manually. I think it's now the offsite guests who are going to have to make darn sure to be at rope drop because there are so few fastpasses that aren't going to be allocated for onsite fastpass+ guests. Just a theory but it makes sense to me. I still think we as onsite guests will have a huge advantage as it's looking like the lions share of the fastpasses are being reserved for us. I don't know how I feel about that and won't get into it.. but I do think come December I am going to be glad I went the fastpass+ route.
