has anyone utilised the 30% discount you can get with the Dream AP pass?, and know how much it saved?

Im considering getting the dream for this discount but can't see other benefits we would use as, the restaurant discount is the same as the fantasy.

And we wouldn't use the EMH hours, free pushchairs hire, extra 10% boutique discount and free apertif at meals that also comes with it.

So really we'd be getting the better pass purely for the bigger disney hotel discount for next time.

Any points you can share to sway me one way or another would be helpful

I've never yet managed to get 30% discount at the hotel of my choice.
I've had the standard 10% discount a couple of times, but nothing more than that.

I know others have got better discounts than I have though, when the 30% AP discount offers get advertised it seems you do have to be pretty quick off the mark to be able to get that amount of discount.

The Dream AP discount on room only is the one thing about being a Dream AP holder I'm quite disappointed with to be honest - as the prices of Disney rooms seems to have gone up about 150% in the last year, whilst packages have remained steady, or gone down in price (if you count the free night/day, free kids etc, which you don't necessarily get booking room only).

I do use EMH (but you get that staying at an onsite hotel anyway), I have used the free left luggage, I do use the 20% shopping discount on practically everything I buy at DLRP, and I do use the 10% restaurant discount. My Dream AP has almost paid for itself with just those discounts, I got DD's completely free when I bought mine, and we've been 3 times on them, so I can't complain about any other Dream AP perk - we've certainly made the most of them :thumbsup2 !

sounds like you've fully utilised the discount then, it's just 50 euros is a lot of difference when you look at what we'll use it for ( compared to what we'll use it for )

We could enjoy some nice meal out on that instead :cool1: and make do with the fantasy. I'll have to live with the smaller % in the shops!

As we hope to stay on site next time we can use emh then.

It would be interesting to know just how many Dream AP holders have actually managed to secure a better discount than the 10%

Im sure we've had 20% discount with ours - we booked hotels 3 times with it and seem to have got good discounts each time. I'll try and work out how much later if I can.

Remember you only need 1 dream AP to get all the discounts apart from EMH so you could save by just getting one and make sure that person uses their pass to pay/book for things.

I thought the Dream AP had only 20% discount on one chosen day of the year? Or is it all the time? If its all the time then i'll be getting the Dream one.

I was going to get just Fantasy as I only want it for the entry to the parks and discounts. And seeing as I got room only on Expedia at the Santa Fe (with an expedia voucher and Quidco) for only £54 a night i'm wondering as well whether the 30% discount will be much lower than that amount.

Does anyone have any recent numbers of how much they paid for a room with the 30% off? Would be great to know :thumbsup2

Dream AP gives 20% off in shops all year round. I have to spend loads each time to keep getting more money off - it's quite exhausting.:rotfl2:
I have no idea what percentage I get off hotel rooms though, they normally just quote me a figure without saying how much I got off. I have noticed that the price has soared this year - the quote I had for 3 nights in December was about £200 more for the same room on the same dates as last year!

I have no idea at all how they price the room onlys.
Last November, first time I used my Dream AP to get a price, the Cheyenne was £47 per night. Expedia were charging £55 for room only for the same time period.

In June this year, the Cheyenne price had soared to £84 per night, and that was with the 10% Dream AP discount :scared1: !!!! Now, I will admit, I only phoned to check the AP prices about 3 weeks before I was going, and so these prices may have been bumped up due to the hotels being nearly full. The SL price for the same period was only £10 per night more than the Cheyenne. We ended up booking the Explorers because of the hike in prices - first time ever offsite, and was very impressed with the hotel.

For my upcoming trip in October, I phoned the very first day I could to book a room with AP discount (90 days beforehand). By that date, apparently all the 30% discount rooms had been booked already :confused3 at every hotel except the HNY. So I got 10% discount prices for the Santa Fe - £55 per night, and the Cheyenne - £72 per night.

so it looks like Expedia are doing good deals at the moment then, maybe fantasy is the way to go and next time Expedia my hotel !!! :)
