Anyone getting worried about March Break Travel

Instead of closing all schools after March break here in Ontario, why couldn’t they ask people who have travelled to self quarantine at home to monitor for symptoms for 2 weeks. Do they think that people who travelled with these kids will stay home when schools are closed? They will go out to movies, shopping, etc. This will not prevent community spread.

Disneyland closed starting Friday.

My own trip has been hurt to WDW, there are so many awful things going on with COVID-19, but Disney parks closing absolutely kills me. So eerie.

Yeah we cancelled our Great Wolf Lodge trip next week. They were nice though and refunded the full deposit, despite the contract saying it's full deposit less 15%.

People need to heed the cautionary tale that is Italy and use the closed schools as an opportunity to STAY HOME. Be a good neighbour!

People in Ontario should be worried about March Break travel. The Minister of Health of Ontario has asked that anyone who does travel outside of Canada for March Break to self- isolate for 14 days upon return.

This whole thing is crazy to me. I went to California from February 28 to March 8 (5 Disneyland days) and I feel like I've come home to the end days. I'm glad everyone is taking precautions. It's just no one was talking about it seriously here when I left and then BAM it's all happening.

My work is mandating quarantines (work from home x2 weeks) for anyone currently on or taking vacations they can't cancel (I just missed out on that fortunately).

Seems like it's taking off very quickly.

My sister works retail. I worry for her (and others like her). The financial burden is going to be hard. I don't know if a lot of smaller places can survive being closed for 2 weeks (minimum).

for the insurance is that in regards to trip cancellation/interruption? Is that saying the out of province medical is not any good? I called Allianze yesterday who has the BMO credit card policy and the person I spoke with assured medical was still in effect?

Honestly they should ban travel. Cancel March Break, put us all back in school for the week (since we can't go anywhere anyway) and then give us a break later once this settles down.

I have been on hold with Allianz for over 2 hours trying to find out if our cards cancellation insurance will cover this trip. Sunwing finally came out with a policy and it covers any trips 5 days out.....we are 4 days out. I want to cancel and then will consider whether we drive if they don't shut down WDW which I think they will.

Manitoba has 2 more cases FYI. Came from travel and they are asking those who flew on certain flights in certain rows to self isolate and monitor. Chances are this doesn’t apply to anyone in here but just incase.

As upsetting as it is to have to cancel your trips its better in the long run. I am hoping this settles down by May as we plan on driving to Cedar Point for a few days. Has whats gone on today, made any of you think to maybe change your Disney vacation to a weekend away at say a Wonderland instead?

Yes. Ontario schools closing for 2 wks after the break. Now if I could just get ahold of Spirit to cancel our Sat flight

Finally got through to get a future travel voucher from Spirit. Phew. I feel so much better
