Anyone getting worried about March Break Travel

Disney refunded my Canadian Resident tickets (purchase in February directly from Disney) when I called on Tuesday morning. They said the refund would take 7-10 business days.
Were you due to travel very soon? I saw your last message on this and had my friend, who had Canadian resident tickets for June, call. They won’t refund her money. Could be it’s too far out. I’m thinking that our June trip is in peril too. Would be nice to get her money back and just repurchase for the distant future.

We were travelling in early April.

That is a very enlightening and yet scary article. I just hope we all make it through this thing in one piece.

I just read this article, and it mostly is about the US, but definitely affects us as well. It makes a lot of sense, actually:

https://www.macleans.ca/society/health/cancel-your-march-break/

Yes, that is a Canadian article written by a Canadian epidemiologist.

"“From a public health point of view, this is sort of like putting our collective faces in a wood chipper. We know there is already uncontrolled spread in the U.S. There was an estimate from last week that says 30,000-50,000 cases, so it’s double that now. So what you’re going to see is folks go down there, pick this up, bring it back all at once and reintroduce it to the community. I fear that things could really explode post-March break. It won’t happen immediately but it will happen all over the place, and by the time it happens we will be in a very deep hole.”"

So here now at test track and low crowds..only .good thing.
Other update..only refund dining plan after Monday..2 day of the 5 day ticket will need to be used before end of 2020 or cedit value towards later.
Thankfully we have been b4. So had no plans today. Up and out the door to epcot with no firm plans. Wing it..no fasspasses. Make the most of it.

Watching a live stream of NS Premier, Minister of Health and Dr Robert Strang. No cases in NS, have had 216 tests and all negative. Not canceling school. Extremely stressing self-quarantine. ugh. Lots of "assessing" going on. Essentially putting the responsibility on the public to prevent the spread.

Our local lab cannot detect a positive case, we still have to send to the national lab until we have the ability to do this locally.

Postponing cruise ship season, not indefinitely, just likely the start of it.

I thought of your family several times yesterday as I knew you just left. I am sorry things are working out so poorly. Your attitude is commendable. Stay safe.

🤦 Seeing as how NS is where our daughter's hospital is, it irks me to see them not being more proactive.

CBC is reporting that the prime minister is advising against international travel and "tightening" the borders https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-covid-19-1.5496367
They are looking at closing the borders. This has all moved so fast!

I'm planning to go to the store for my usual groceries, and worried about not being able to find anything on the shelves. Luckily I bought TP last week when it was on sale at Metro... so we're good on that for awhile :)

There seems to be plenty of food available. Just cleaning supplies and TP that are out. I was at Metro yesterday morning with about 10 other people. I heard it was a zoo last night, though.

I think it is the indoor queues. Six Flags and Cedar Fair are still open. Those are outdoor queues.

I bet the theatres close soon.

So the Education Minister in New Brunswick has hinted strongly that schools will be closed and that an announcement is coming soon. They're in meetings currently. My husband who teaches through Apprenticeship NB was just sent home with all students and instructors being told to be prepared to start teaching from home starting Monday. His department head acknowledged that it's not official yet, but that's the rumbling he's been hearing. They're just waiting for the final announcement from the province.
