It's Just Normal Routine Around Town here
Over the last couple of weeks, I've been out and about town keeping pretty much a normal routine.
I don't always need to stay on the safe and narrow.

I've been known to go a little off the beaten track to enjoy a few of our alleys and laneways in Melbourne.

I always make it a point to look up every now and again. You never know what you'll see!

The back lanes do offer colour that you don't normally find in the fast lane.

I was even reminded that you can take it easy anywhere you are or whatever the surrounds may appear to be!

I've been very good at only window shopping. There will always be something that I WANT to buy…..but truth be known, there’s nothing that I really NEED to get.

Well....with the exception of food.
We are rather blessed in having a decent market in the heart of the city. The Queen Victoria Market has been operating as an open-air market since 1878. Before that, it was the site of the Melbourne Cemetery. Over 50% of the seven hectare space is dedicated to food stalls.
I tend to visit the market on a fortnightly basis with friends. We pick up our meats....

As part of my normal routine, my friends and us go to breakfast afterwards. Breakfast is usually my favourite meal of the day. Afterall, you can have something savoury.....

I have to admit; this countdown to September still seems like an awful long way away. But there are days when I count my blessings for 'normal routine'.

Love the market....
I am so looking forward to the Markets in Spain.
The markets look wonderful! I've seen something similar in Boston, but not here. Maybe at the place where you guys hit straight off the plane in LA, but I've never been there so I don't know what it's like.
You're daily life is a lot more interesting than mine!
I'm with Alison, your daily life is way more interesting than mine too.Great shots. The markets look great. The food looks yum!
I haven't seen anything similar in LA yet. I think there's a similar market in Seattle and Faneuille Hall in Boston. And when the Farmer's Market is out at the Ferry Building, there's something similar in San Francisco itself.
Hmm....might be interesting to do a little research to see what other markets are available in the US or where the fresh food is sold.
Faneuille Hall in Boston is what I'm thinking of. We don't have any permanent markets here unless the Grove is like that. You've been there, I haven't. Isn't that sad!
Our Farmer's markets are temporary. They bring their own tarp and tables and stuff and after the market is over you wouldn't even know they had one there that day.
Those look very tasty, I hope that they will be small enough so that I can have one of those, some potato salad, cucumber salad, tri tip....
