Fast Pass Plus....and Minus
After that MONSTER breakfast....
....we said goodbye to everyone. We had a park to get to and I will admit that we took the lazy option....
....and caught a Friendship to Hollywood Studios.
It's just as well those letters are up there. This gate is starting to look like California Adventure in SoCal....or is that the other way round?
We took a leisurely stroll up Hollywood Boulevard.
How leisurely a stroll was it?
Let's just say that we stopped at not just one....
....or two photopass photographers.
We stopped at all three photographers down the boulevard and got a couple of frames taken.
The photographers down Hollywood Studios were pretty sharp this morning. I almost didn't post the above 3 pictures because you could clearly read DHs name on his birthday badge. He likes his privacy; so we compromised and blurred the boundaries a little.
You may have noticed. I was pretty calm, cool and collected and there was absolutely no stress on my face, is there?
In previous visits, I'd been the one breaking out in sweat and bolting down Hollywood Boulevard to claim a Fast Pass. Not today.
I think this is the morning that I really appreciated the FP+ system. Knowing that I'd already locked in 3 rides, it was definitely a smug little me taking my time to our first stop. Yup. Most definitely a PLUS feeling.
You may have noticed that DS had taken off his Luigi hat by this stage. But I knew how to keep a hat on him.
Hats are important. Especially on a bright and sunny day!
I've always liked this hat. Maybe it's because every time I look at it, I only see stars.
For the record, we got to our first stop at 10.50 am. Our return window finished at 11 am. I had booked this FP+ for a little later in the morning because of breakfast.
That feeling of smugness lasted until I got to Toy Story Mania. From plus to minus in a matter of seconds!! The. ride. was. down.
Yup. The ride was down!!!! Closed. Gone fishing.
I was definitely feeling Minus! Minus! Minus! There would be no leisurely strolling in the FP line for TSM this morning for us. Pluses and Minuses indeed!
On the plus side - there was a CM hanging around outside the ride with a hand held scanner and a tablet. He checked our Magic Bands with the scanner and pressed a few buttons on his tablet. I was told that we could come back later in the day and get on the ride. I remember asking what our return time was and he told me anytime.
I've long learnt to trust my gut and my gut was not feeling good at this point. I definitely had a sinking feeling and no, it had nothing to do with the huge breakfast I'd eaten. I double checked the details with the CM and he distinctively told us we would be fine.
Shall we shake on it?
Yeah. It remained to be seen if my stomach was right or if the CM was right. And I knew which one I was betting on.
