Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Beautiful sunrise pics, those are definitely more important then running.;)

Another great DIS meet at Cape May and I'm loving that you DS is still wearing his hat.

Great morning pics. You made the correct choice getting your camera and strolling around. You captured very peaceful settings. It is a choice I wish I made more of. You know I am more of a night person.

I have not eaten breakfast over at Cape May yet. It has been along time since staying over on the Yacht Club side.

I will start uploading those pics so I will be ready when the time comes.

I had also stopped sending the rest of my castle projection pics because of everything going on in my background. I will have to pic up where I left off soon. There are some really good ones still to be sent

Gorgeous sunrise photos! I for one am definitely glad you went with the photography option over running :thumbsup2

Brekky looked like fun too!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh melted my heart to see all you guys together at Cape may. What a beautiful post! That really must have been a great experience. Tears in my eyes..

Walt Disney World – Hollywood Studios 03 October 2013

Wake Up! Wake Up! What a Wonderful World...........

The colors of the rainbow

...............

As usual ALL your photos are just stunning, but I really, really love this one! And I'm a runner but yeah, good choice out there strolling with the camera this morning. :thumbsup2

.

I love the sunrise photos. Cape May breakfast was a real surprise for me. We did this for the first time in December and loved it. What a shame though that they did not have a table big enough for all of you.

Beautiful sunrise pictures, what a lovely way to start the day :)

Bummer about the table situation, usually they're so accommodating. Love those character outfits!

Thanks Scott. Nice to see you back here.
I needed a break from reading tr’s and writing mine.
I have not been to Raglan Road in years. We found it too noisy in there but the food was good.
Looked like a pretty night to sit outside.
Nice castle pics.
Fantastic Wishes pics.
Nice pics around Beach Club area.
Too bad they couldn’t push the tables together for you all.
Now I want a Mickey waffle. LOL
Love the group pic.

I can't believe that you got up so early! Fran walked me all around DTD after our meal and they messed up on the bill and we sat there for at least another hour before we could leave. I'm not sure how late we got home, but my legs were killing me and we got home real late.

I'm pretty sure that we stayed in bed until the last moment before showing up for Cape May.

Here are my pics.

Gee- you make me want to go have a Diz breakfast with Diz friends! Been a while!

:)

Jud

What are you waiting for? Get some scheduled in! :thumbsup2

Another great DIS meet at Cape May and I'm loving that you DS is still wearing his hat.

Thanks. DS really loved that hat.

The Dis Meet was a lot of fun.

It was a great early morning walk.

Excellent. Your pictures are great. Thanks.

Brekky looked like fun too!

Thanks. I think I spent my time wiser than DH. He was all sweaty after his run.

Thanks Paula. Shame we didn't connect in October. It would have been nice to meet you in 3D. And we could have had some DisMeets ourselves.

Good pick. That's my favourite of the sunrise set as well. :thumbsup2

Corinna

Actually, I think they did suggest pulling the tables together. But that would have meant that the people in the inside would not be able to come and go to the buffet.

Yes, it is a surprisingly good breakfast at Cape May.

Awesome photos (again)
Thanks for sharing

Thank you. :flower3:

If I recall correctly, they were accommodating and we could have pulled the tables together. A round table would have been better; but I guess it was fine.

I love the beach outfits too.

Great Dismeet and great pics.

I agree with LegoMom3; my favourite is the lighthouse pic.

It's a trifecta on that lighthouse pic. :thumbsup2

I've been enjoying your TR.

Thanks! Raglan Road was noisy; but we didn't stay long enough for it to be overpowering.

I want a Mickey waffle too. Sadly, it's going to be a while before I see one again.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing.

I'm sorry that you had to wait that long for the bill. If I'd known, I would have stayed with you guys rather than leaving you to have to deal with it by yourselves.

I remember you saying that Fran walked you round DTD in your TR. I didn't realise that you got back late. I suspect you may have gotten back later than us!

Yes, I can't believe we woke up that early as well. :faint:

Finally caught up on your latest update after I was in SoCal this past weekend. Great pictures of the sunrise at the Beach Club. The Cape May breakfast looks very nice and a very good DISMeet that morning.

Welcome back, Bret! Thanks.

Glad to see you posting again and I trust you had a great trip in SoCal.

Hi PIO

I cant find my pics from our night right now. I have looked thru 2 laptops. I have the castle show and boo to you parade but not our photo walk pics. Have to search the external hard drive backup and see if they are there. I know i named the folder just dont remember the name.

No worries. Take your time....I still have to write up the 4 days between where the TR is at; to "our" night. That will take me a month of Sundays!!! :rotfl:

Fast Pass Plus....and Minus

After that MONSTER breakfast....

....we said goodbye to everyone. We had a park to get to and I will admit that we took the lazy option....

....and caught a Friendship to Hollywood Studios.

It's just as well those letters are up there. This gate is starting to look like California Adventure in SoCal....or is that the other way round?

We took a leisurely stroll up Hollywood Boulevard.

How leisurely a stroll was it?

Let's just say that we stopped at not just one....

....or two photopass photographers.

We stopped at all three photographers down the boulevard and got a couple of frames taken.

The photographers down Hollywood Studios were pretty sharp this morning. I almost didn't post the above 3 pictures because you could clearly read DH’s name on his birthday badge. He likes his privacy; so we compromised and blurred the boundaries a little.

You may have noticed. I was pretty calm, cool and collected and there was absolutely no stress on my face, is there?

In previous visits, I'd been the one breaking out in sweat and bolting down Hollywood Boulevard to claim a Fast Pass. Not today.
I think this is the morning that I really appreciated the FP+ system. Knowing that I'd already locked in 3 rides, it was definitely a smug little me taking my time to our first stop. Yup. Most definitely a PLUS feeling.

You may have noticed that DS had taken off his Luigi hat by this stage. But I knew how to keep a hat on him.

Hats are important. Especially on a bright and sunny day!

I've always liked this hat. Maybe it's because every time I look at it, I only see stars.

For the record, we got to our first stop at 10.50 am. Our return window finished at 11 am. I had booked this FP+ for a little later in the morning because of breakfast.

That feeling of smugness lasted until I got to Toy Story Mania. From plus to minus in a matter of seconds!! The. ride. was. down.

Yup. The ride was down!!!! Closed. Gone fishing.

I was definitely feeling Minus! Minus! Minus! There would be no leisurely strolling in the FP line for TSM this morning for us. Pluses and Minuses indeed!

On the plus side - there was a CM hanging around outside the ride with a hand held scanner and a tablet. He checked our Magic Bands with the scanner and pressed a few buttons on his tablet. I was told that we could come back later in the day and get on the ride. I remember asking what our return time was and he told me anytime.

I've long learnt to trust my gut and my gut was not feeling good at this point. I definitely had a sinking feeling and no, it had nothing to do with the huge breakfast I'd eaten. I double checked the details with the CM and he distinctively told us we would be fine.

Shall we shake on it?

Yeah. It remained to be seen if my stomach was right or if the CM was right. And I knew which one I was betting on.

Still On the Odd Astronomical Star Tours

Does anyone truly plan for an attraction being down? I have to admit that I hadn't quite planned on the eventuality of TSM being down in the morning and it threw me.....a little.
That gap left us roaming around the Streets of American aimlessly for a bit whilst I regrouped my thoughts to figure out how to fill in some time.

We used to do the Power Rangers Meet and Greet here and it was a decent enough use of this space. Now, without the Power Rangers, I don't really get this space. It kinda feels like there is something missing here. And as this is going to be the last year for the light show, perhaps Disney has plans for this space that we don’t know about yet.

As it currently stands, it's just a pedestrian walkway with not a lot to hold us here. But it served its purpose. The long way round allowed me time to checked my MDE app; and to find where I could be of service to Disney....again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Star Tours is one of those attractions that is a firm favourite in my family. My boys experienced the V2.0 re-boot of this attraction in DLR for the first time at the start of the trip and were looking forward to the encore. It really wasn't hard for me to figure out where we would be heading to after we found out that TSM was down for the count. In reality, it took me all of a nano-second!

I'd deliberately taken the long walk round to see if the Streets of America had grown on me somewhat. Nope. I still found it a bit of wasted space.

Happily, a nano-second was about the length of the wait as well. I was surprised to find that there was no queue for this attraction.

DS was definitely happy to travel light speed again.

Aside from the gold robot, there was hardly anyone else around.

There were definitely not many humans around!

Those of you that have read the Disneyland part of this TR will know that I made a point to note that I had gotten the same sequence for the first 3 out of the 4 elements every time I'd gotten on v2.0. This was definitely the case - twice - in November 2012; and it was the case again when we got on the ride in September.

Guess what?

Yup. We got the EXACT same sequence for the first 3 elements.....again. I don’t even want to calculate those astronomical odds.

Really.....this is getting to be beyond a joke!

Someone needs to re-program the randomness function of this program for me! And FAST!

The updates are full of wonderful commentary, the pictures are breathtaking, and the food is making me hungry!
