Another SAB afternoon....without pictures

Did I mention that it was a hot afternoon? Well, it was.

After the DisMeet, we parted ways. It was a lot busier at Epcot that afternoon and as I was feeling hot, I decided to head back to the resort and enjoy an afternoon by the pool. Seems like DH and DS had come to the same conclusion.

I came across DS heading to the Flying Jib as I walked back. This is about the only picture I took of the SAB area this afternoon.

DH had found some chairs in the shade and had curled up there with a book. I headed back to the room and got changed. I did bring a book out with me, but I spent my time going down that Flying Jib and lazing down the Lazy River. In all, I think we probably spent over 2 hours enjoying the pool this afternoon. It was a great way to relax.

Around the World with a Photopass

I know some Dis-sers do wonder about whether Photopass (Plus) or Memory Maker, as it's been rebadged to, is worth the price. There is also some debate as to whether the CM taking the pictures are photographers or if they are just CM capable of pressing a button.

For me, I've had 3 trips to WDW and I’ve purchased the product and service all 3 times. I will accept that the CM behind the camera makes a huge difference as to whether you end up with a good shot or not; but as the main person taking pictures in my family these days, it is one way of guaranteeing that I do end up with pictures of myself in the frame.

Let's just say that I got some use out of the Photopass Plus today. Okay. Let's just say that I got full value out of the Photopass Plus just on the pictures I claimed today. Afterall...I had claimed all the ride pictures and the princess meet and greet. I definitely think that I pretty much got full value from my Photopass Plus.

I also found a few photographers around the World when I was walking back and forth today. So, these pictures are now my memories of my time on this day.

When at Norway.......

When in China......

Somewhere near Germany.

On the Epcot Chunnel.

I walked back to the resorts with Wanderlust; so we also grabbed a shot together on the Epcot Chunnel bridge.

My boys also made use of the service. So, I know they went pass China.

And France.

And judging from the hat that DS acquired, they did some shopping in Japan!

Yes. I think I definitely got value out of that Photopass Plus.

The first Werthers picture= licking the monitor I will admit it

Ah the Dismeet seeing the people in 3-D, out of the box :goodvibes

You may be re-selling me on the Photopass/Memory maker really nice shots My favorite ? DH and DS with the I Love my Dad border REALLY a memory there

OK gotta go will catch up with you later or next week

Oh the food, it looks so wonderful, and being on this stinking detox makes everything more wonderful looking!

Torture!

The pictures are lovely as ever, and the photo of the two "princesses" was very cute!

The Carmel Chewy bar is my favorite in Karmel!

Ahh thank you for making me feel better! Would it be bad to divulge that I am of Asian descent...

That's okay: I'm an "American" and I don't know what a hot dog is.

But then again, does anybody???

:rotfl2:

Mmmmmm, Karamel Kuchen. Somehow we missed out on going in there on our last trip. We had only one day to get through food and wine, and I think that was why we didn't get to some of the yummy's that aren't there on a regular basis.

The afternoon break is a great idea in the heat of Florida. Especially when your resort is only a short walk away!

The treats at Karamell Kuche look very nice and good to eat. If I do like eating chocolate that would be something I would stop when I go back to WDW.

It was nice to be able to meet with more DISers during your trip and the group picture is great.

To take a break in the afternoon is always a good idea especially when in Florida.

Photopass+ is a nice way to get more nice pictures during the trip and I might think about it one day.

Very nice updates.

Mmmm Karamel...it is divine. Sad no Stolen like Palo's brunch though! But that sweet smell omg as a sugar addict it's just amazing.

Your photo's are great! Love the one of the lads. How nice to meet up with your brothers and sisters back home. Out of interest why is September/October a popular time for ANZACS to go AWOL? Is it the weather back home that drives you exploring distant shores?

lol re Wethers pic. Me too! I loved that I love border also..good job no photobombers...

Why oh oh why must you be so cruel posting those gorgeous photos of those sugary delights?!?! Oh how I loved karamel kuche when we were there. I still remember trying to be good and only 2 'treats' to share. It didn't work! We ended up going back multiple times!!

Oh it's so nice that you get to meet up at WDW! Bet it was great to be able to get to know each other better in 3D. It does seem odd to travel so far to meet up with your countrymen yet on some ways so natural too.

I'm going to hang around you more often. You have a way of making me feel good about myself!

The children have about 2-3 weeks of school holidays in Oct/Sep, it is low season in the Disney parks yet weather is still decent, airfares tend to be cheaper than the peak Australian long break in Dec/Jan. Add to that the fact that most schools are amenable to parents taking kids out earlier for breaks adds to a much better value trip! Hence the popularity :)

So no, it's not the weather that drives us away from home. Sep/Oct is actually a really lovely time to explore the land down under!

It is quite strange. Despite my German heritage, Karamell Kueche leaves me absolutely cold. There is nothing there that tempts me. I love your Photopass Photos.

Well, I thought I'd learned my lesson, and did in fact have a yoghurt before reading your post. Suffice to say, the yoghurt did not cut it! I think I have found a reason to go to WDW :rotfl:

Great job with the photopass plus. I'm looking forward to getting more use out of ours this time around, especially getting some great family photos with my parents :goodvibes It's a shame it doesn't cover RunDisney, I'll have to pay for those photos too!

I think it makes total sense to organise a DisMeet at Disney, even if you do live 9000 miles away :rotfl:

And an afternoon at SAB sounds like a wonderful relaxing break.

Good answer Shushh.

Most NZ and Australian schools have 4 sets of holidays. Here in NZ we have 2 weeks during April (Easter), July and Sep/Oct. Then we have 5-6 weeks in Dec/Jan.

As Shushh mentioned, Dec/Jan is an expensive time for flights, and the parks are very busy during late Dec. Plus, Christmas break is a lovely time to stick around home, go bush-walking and visit the beaches.
July would be a great time for us to get away, but it is peak holiday period over there.
Easter is also expensive.
That leaves Sep/Oct.

PIO, that was such a great Dis Meet. I wish I could say the same about the pics of me :rotfl:

I have the couple of Photopass pics we had taken and will post them when I'm next on the PC.

Ruthie - I hope you have a great time in NY and with your aunt. Catch you when you return.

Thanks Brandi. I know what you mean. I have to LOOK at those pictures as well. :rotfl:

The afternoon break is a great idea in the heat of Florida. Especially when your resort is only a short walk away!

There were so many yummy's at F&W it's really hard to end up eating everything that you want. That's why I deliberately didn't focus too much on the menu's this year. At least I didn't know what else I might be missing out on this time.

I love the smell at Karamel Kuche. Hope you get there on your next trip.

Very nice updates.

We really enjoyed WDW very much this time because we deliberately headed back to the resort at the afternoon. It was rather relaxing doing it this time.

All the DisMeets that I had on this trip were a lot of fun.

Photopass + was great when we were staying as long as we were and did stop every time we saw a photographer.

Thanks.

Thanks Paula. That sweet smell gets to me every time!

I think you've seen the responses from Shushh and Wanderlust as to why Sep/Oct is a popular time to travel. It coincides with school holidays here and speaking for myself, it is nice to escape the winter of Australia and head north. Afterall, Sep/Oct is a great time of year to head to the northern hemisphere and enjoy warm weather.

lol re Wethers pic. Me too! I loved that I love border also..good job no photobombers...

That I Love my Dad one was so cute. I used it in another picture later in the trip.

I had every intention of heading back to Karamel Kuche again; but with F&W, it was pretty difficult to get back there when there were so many other treats on hand.

Thanks!

It is quite strange. Despite my German heritage, Karamell Kueche leaves me absolutely cold. There is nothing there that tempts me. I love your Photopass Photos.

Corinna

That is quite strange, Corinna. Do you have a sweet tooth?

Thanks. I was happy with the PP pictures from this trip.

The coolest thing ever...Australian Air Line

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3257947

The Lion King is heading back to the Melbourne theatre scene in 2015. It's been over 8 years since the last production. I'm definitely going to get tickets to go see it again. :thumbsup2

And an afternoon at SAB sounds like a wonderful relaxing break.

Karamel Kuche is good excuse to plan a trip to WDW.....but wait till I get to the last day of my time at WDW. There's more to tempt you and push you to going. ::yes::

SAB was really a lovely pool to spend time at. I know some people don't like the sand at the bottom of the pool floor; but I quite like it.

Hope you get full use of your Photopass when you get to DLR. :thumbsup2

PIO, that was such a great Dis Meet. I wish I could say the same about the pics of me :rotfl:

I have the couple of Photopass pics we had taken and will post them when I'm next on the PC.

I realised that I forgot to post my version of the Photopass picture that we took with Jade. Here it is!

Looking forward to seeing yours! :thumbsup2
