I know it has happened with me quite a bit. I agree though that it has never happened to any of the Magic Kingdom rides. I think they are so good at appealing to our inner child that we will always love them.
Lunch looked very tempting. Seeing your photos, I almost wish that I actually ate fish. That Mahi Mahi looked delicious.
I love all the photos from China. This and Morocco are probably my favourite pavilions.
Corinna
Thanks Corinna. I hope to never outgrow MK rides.
That Mahi Mahi was delicious. If you ever decided to eat fish.....
Well! I heard "she's" a man!

Definitely NOT the Mulan I met. SHE was lovely.
Quite! That is a good shot.
Also, aside from some being very good shots, I was struck by the
total lack of distortion in your pictures in China, ie, pin-cushioning and barrel, and was wondering what lens you used there?
Jud
Aww Jud. You know how to make a gal feel good about herself!

Would you believe that I was shooting with the Canon 10 - 22 mm UWA lens? All that time on the road trip (without the trusty 17 - 55 mm) gave me time to learn how to get comfortable with the UWA.
For the close-ups, I was using the 50 mm/f1.8.

Jud the more I get to " know" you here the more I like you I see a Dismeet in our future I hope so, Ruthie Yes great picture of the
2 Princesses PIO and Mulan : ( LOVE those Mulan movies )
China is absolutely one of my favorite pavilions I am always amazed how many people never really go investigate it at all I find it a very peaceful place You took pictures of everything I never get tired of seeing for decades Thank you
The food and Tea is always a must do when I'm hungry I never tried the food at Singapore but you have just moved it up on our wish list
I went looking there for something special as it is the Year of the Horse but was disappointed that I only found 2 things A t-shirt I already have and a wall calendar that is very nice Ed managed to pull off a surprise and bought it for me and I still can't figure out how I didn't see him do it
In about a month I will have the kitchen/eating area cleaned up and decorated the way I want and then I would be very happy to show it off Happy to share it
Shame you didn't find anything at China/Epcot. You kinda need to find a Chinese shop to find anything for the Year of the Horse.
Looking forward to seeing your kitchen.
The food from the F&W Festival look very appetizing that afternoon for lunch. It is nice to see different food porn during the F&W Festival since I haven't tried those plates during my visit.
The China Pavilion pictures are very nice especially when you got the ceiling of the replica Temple of Heaven.
Nice update.
Thanks Bret. I was really pleased to have headed this way for those plates. The last time, I ate around Canada to Italy.
You hit some of the booths that we never made it to. The noodles and Mongolian beef sounded good. I like the China pavilion but haven't been in there for quite a while. Perhaps next trip I should make it a point to go in there.
Your pictures are great!
I'm really bummed to hear that the Norway troll is gone. I guess they got sick of everyone putting on the hats and posing for pictures without buying stuff. I'll be sad if Maelstrom is replaced with a Frozen themed ride but change happens.
Those noodles were great. I hope you get to try them next time.
Thanks.
I'm sorry that the troll is gone too. It was always fun to hang around there and look at the hats.
Oh yum! I don't think I should read any more PIO updates when I'm hungry
As a fellow Aussie you might be able to enlighten me... what exactly is a potsticker? (Referring to the chicken potstickers on the China menu).
And speaking of China, the pavilion looks pretty cool, and glad to hear it's fairly true to life.
So jealous you got to meet Mulan! Can't believe I've been to HKDL twice now and haven't managed to run into her yet.
Is there a meet and greet for Mulan in HKDL? I know she's in the Golden Mickey's show....but I wasn't sure that they did a M&G for her. Next time.
Im not a fellow Aussie but a potsticker is a Chinese meat filled dumpling. Sometimes they called them pan fried dumplings in the US. They are seared on the bottom hence the name potsticker. They are usually filled with a found mixture of pork/chicken, cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, etc.
I'd post a picture but I'm posting from my phone and it's tough.
Well I'm at home so let me help you out, perfect explanation of a potsticker Alison and one of my favorite foods YUM

Now I know what I'll be having tonight ( picture shamelessly lifted from the internet )
Zanzibar - You'll find them here as Shanghai Dumplings. I know you came to the DisMeet in January; but I don't think you stayed for lunch?
Boiled variety.
Fried or 'potsticker' variety.
Maybe next meet. Although.....we might have done dumplings for one of the meets last year?
Lol. Looking at the menu at the NZ pavilion, I'm not convinced any kiwi was consulted in the menu design.
That mahimahi at Singapore was delicious. As was the lemongrass curry they did. The 2 items were our favourite on any food we ate in all of Epcot.
Your family are right, the Epcot replica of The Temple of Heaven is very tasteful.
I wasn't so keen on the small replicas of the Terracotta Army however, and I can't quite put a finger on why I disliked them. I think perhaps they should have either made them really small and made a diorama-style display out of them, or made them full-size and had less of them. At the size they were it felt a bit like they belonged in the Small World ride.
I thought the NZ menu was tasty; but it wasn't very representative of the country.
I didn't try the chicken curry. I figured I would have better curry at home than at Epcot. Maybe next time.
The small replica's of the Terracotta Army? I guess I'm the opposite of you. I quite liked them. They were more like Chinese Dwarves; than Small World dolls.
Ok that pic is so stinkin' cute I just wanna jump in there and hug you both!!
Beautiful pics of the China pavilion. I really enjoy the film in there, too.
And great job on the lunch bites! SO much to choose from during F&W. I love the little paper "plates" that everything is served on. I've seen similar pics from the F&G food booths, so that's one of those silly, simple little things I'll get to enjoy.
.
Thanks LM. The paper 'plates' are a nice way to serve up the bites. Perfect size and everything.
Here's hoping you get decent food at F&G.
Great shots as always! Makes me want to go back to the Food and Wine Festival!!!
Love the picture and frame of you and Mulan!
Thanks Denise. I'd love a trip back for Food and Wine; although if the food is decent at Flower and Garden, that might be a good alternative.
OMG Ruthie! Those look so stinkin' good! I was planning on pork chops with stuffing and gravy for dinner tonight, now I might have to order Chinese Delivery!
Hope you got Chinese!
I just did ...well ordered and picked up YUMMY no delivery in Podunk

YUM! Wish I lived closer so I could have dropped in to share.
why are u confused ? That I am getting to like you ? or hoping for a Dismeet as a result of that ? Are you not likeable ? or just anti-social ?

PS
I AM likeable and have references
I can vouch for that.
