Anyone from Jersey on the 11/2 Magic Cruise?

I got over the door hanger at walmart. Think it was 5.99. You might want to try Sports Authority for snorkel stuff. Not sure who else will be carrying them now. Happy packing!
Cheers, Gary

These shoe hangers.....I could only find them with a coat hanger type of hook at the top. Is that what everyone is talking about? Is there a different kind that actually hangs over the top of the door while allowing the door to be opened and closed? Is there a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang my type?

I'm looking at the over the door organizer I bought from Walmart and It has
separate hooks to hang it over door. They are not hanger type hooks but "S"
shaped and are separate from the organizer. If you go to Walmart to look for
one its called 22 pocket overdoor organizer by Mainstays. Think it was $6.00.
Hope this helps! Cheer, Gary

I have followed this terrific thread since it began but I don't remember if there was a meeting place and time for all the Disboard people on this cruise. Is a meeting planned ?

I think a dismeet would be great. How about it everybody? We could all meet after the lifeboat drill ? Anyone else have an idea?

Hi Howard, We'll see you in 9 days!!!

Good Question Howard. Lets all meet in your room..(wink wink). Guess we need to come up
with a meeting place. How about main lobby after the lifeboat drill? Or open to other suggestions. I'm starting to pack snorkel stuff now. Something everyone may want to bring
are ears drops for water in ear after swimming. Seems my wife can never get the water out
of her ears after swimming (goes in too far)??ha ha, and drops are good for kids also. Don't want ear infections during cruise! Semper Paratus!(Coast Guard Moto) "AlwaysReady"
Cheers, Gary

Sure! I think that's a great idea. I don't have any better idea than the atrium for a meeting place. (Except for your room Howard) ;) (Hey, if not many people show up, we could call it a cabin party!) :teeth:

I haven't even started packing yet. We are moving the day after we return from the cruise, so we are doing everything we can to get the house ready now. I don't have time to pack. All I need is a swimsuit and a credit card anyway, right? (just kidding)

See you all soon!!

How about in front of scoops? Is it open then? This way the kids can all meet and have ice cream.

I think ILOVTOGO's idea is great. We'll be there at scoops after the lifeboat drill getting the kids ice cream. If anyone wants to come see our room you are welcome to drop by after the meet or any other time.

Maryann,
How are the kids doing, ours are busting to go already. Can't wait

We'll be at scoops also after the lifeboat drill.

Howard,

The kids are all ready to go, they have their red totebags from the travel agent packed with their goodies for the plane ride, they are just nervous about the plane ride(along with the husband )Kerri loves your little grandaughter, talked about her after the meeting! See you soon!Tell Renee we said Hello!

Scoops it is then. We might try something called Earplanes for the kids and wife when we are flying. They are Earplugs that help with the pressure difference when your going up then down.
I blow air through my nose while I'm holding it closed. That works for me. See everybody on board..Lets hope tropical storms are done for the year... Cheers, Gary

LUVTOGO: did the birth certificates arrive yet?

All packed, overpacked actually, but packed and ready to go. I'm sure I'm missing something. I hope everyone's packing is going well.

Scoops is a great idea for a place to meet! We'll be there. It will be great to have our kids have a chance to meet and find friends even before they hit the clubs.

Yes, my Birth Certificate arrived today, Yippeeee!! The kids have theirs, my dd picked them up last week. I have not packed one thing yet, I am going to figure out how to use the camcorder tonight:o The kids are going to a Halloween party Sat night so I figure we can pack a lot of things then without no interruptions!!!

Garyss7,
It's not the pressure I believe bothers them when flying, It is a 9-11 thing. They are just plain scared to fly now. We haven't been on a plane since 2 yrs ago, so I will be the strong one and get everyones fears to rest.( p.s.I hate to fly also, but it sure beats driving.)

Its a cabin pressure thing, not a scared to fly thing. Haven't your ears ever plugged up
when taking off or landing? Thats pressure difference between inner ear and cabin pressure.
Sometimes it takes quite a while for ears to "unclog" after flying thats why we're trying
earplanes this time. I'll let everyone know how we make out after trip. Gary

You're braver than me LUVTOGO. I hate to fly and after 9/11 truly don't want to ever fly again. We are driving from South Jersey which makes it so hard with Halloween being the night before we need to leave. The kids have to trick or treat, check out their candy, get showers and a little sleep before we wake them up at 3AM for our 16 hour drive. It should be interesting! At least we don't have to worry about ducking bullets as we travel down 95. I'm so happy for everyone in that area who can go outside without worrying.

One week from today and we are on the road... (for a very long time)

SweetSpot- your going to be one bunch of tired people when you get to the boat. Make sure
you switch off the driving and don't fall asleep at the wheel! Driving is still way more dangerous than flying, even after 9/11. Be careful and we'll see you on the boat! Gary

Sweetspot
How you feel about flying is how I feel about driving. I am better off in a plane then a car. I am one of those passengers that always has the foot on the brake, always worried about traffic, feel that I need to be control if I am in the car. So we would probably end up killing each other before we got out of Jersey!!! Are you driving straight thru? Be sure to stop at Cracker Barrell for lunch.

ILUVTOGO- I'll bet they'll be carrying empty bottles so they don't havfta stop.(lol)
Thats a long drive. We've done it a couple of times straight through to florida in
our van and thats as big as a room on the boat so the kids can sleep on the way
down. I do the driving thank you. wifey can read her books and I can listen to
Frank(Sinatra) the whole way down...All I know is I'm real tired when we get
there... Gimmie the plane... Cheers, Gary

We did it last year and it was horrible but like giving birth you forget how truly horrible it is and do it again. My DH does all the driving and we barely stop for bathroom brakes. Last time we ran into a McD's used the bathroom and took dinner back to the van to eat while driving. We were on a mission. (This year I might use Gary's idea and pack a jar... save a stop...don't think the DD would know what to do with it though.)

I pack the van with junk food, lunch and a tv/vcr with so many videos they never have to watch one twice. Unfortunately, we don't get to listen to the radio because we don't have headphones for 3 kids. Last year I packed Rugrat and Scooby Doo videos for them. I can't even begin to describe the torture of just listening to the noise of those shows. I've learned my lesson this time. No Scooby and a CD player with headphones for me.

I am dying to stop at a Cracker Barrel after all I've heard here but I know we won't stop. Once we are in the car we keep going. Getting out just prolongs the agony.

I couldn't imagine listening to Angelicas voice for a 16 hr drive, never mind Scooby Doo:p
