Hi Paul. We live In Hamilton Twsp ( the one near Trenton). Only Jersey would have 2 Hamilton
twps! (lol). This is our 2nd cruise but 1st time entire group(Inlaws, cousins)are going. We had a great time on last cruise (2000) and hoping hurricane season is long gone by the time we sail. This is our 1st time having teenage daughter (Kelly) going to Common Grounds so we'll see how she makes out.. Her cousin is 13 so he'll be in common grounds also. See you on the boat! Cheers, Gary

Gary, I've told Jessica she will have at least 1 semi-local girl in the club with her. She was glad to hear it.

I had posted a survey to ask about the age distribution of kids coming on the 11/2 cruise. Surprisingly, the votes leaned toward the 5-7 age group! Check it out, and vote if you haven't!

See you in less than 4 weeks! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I am so excited. The documents arrived today. It was amazing because we are never home during the day. My son became ill while at school and I had to leave work to pick him up early. A few hours after we got home, the Fed Ex man arrived with our documents!! I could not believe it!! Now I will not have to make a special trip to Fed Ex to pick them up. And my son is absolutely fine, running around the house playing. Can't wait! 3 weeks from Saturday!!!!

I'm so happy for you!! One less thing to think about. Now we all get to obsess about packing. Let the list making begin!

Yeah Joanne! Were your flights good ones? So glad you got your information.:D

my3kids, Yes, our flights seem to be ok (arriving in Orlando at 11:30 am on Nov. 2 and departing at 1:30 pm on Nov 9).

Next time, I will book the air myself and will plan on arriving in Orlando on the day before the cruise. Thanks to the great information from everyone on these boards!

Joanne

See you on the boat Joanne! Try to rest up before plane ride. When we went on cruise 2 years ago disney booked us on early flight and the kids (9-12) were beat by dinner time because they had to get up so early. This time we booked coming down friday night so everyone will be rested on saturday. (I hope) Cheers, Gary:D

Any more November seconders out there? Seconders.....I think I just created a new word! Blame it on bein' southern!

I can't believe how close we are now. My guest room looks like a small hurricane has just blown thru...I have stuff everywhere. Now I just have to fit it all into our suitcases :)

Last year we were on the 7 day'er at this time of year and it was full of New Jersey families. Seemed almost like an exclusive cruise for the State of New Jersey (only kidding).

Another non-New Jerseyian here; Minnesotans! We, myself, DH, DD11, and DD6 will also be on the Magic Nov. 2. Has anyone recapped this whole 9 or 10 pages to figure out how many of us there actually are going from this board???

It finally stopped raining here, and I have to say might be time to put the shorts and tank tops into the suitcase! Its a little chilly also!!What is everyone planning on the kids to wear in the dining room at night? Is it no shorts for kids also? My 7 yr old has plenty of dresses, but my 9 year old will not wear them! I figured a pair of black pants and nice tops? Still have to get them shoes for dinner and formal night. Have a Good Day! Maryann

scsagh:

From what I have gathered following the post there are a decent amount of people on this board on this cruise and you are definitely not the only one not from NJ. From what has been posted your kids will have plenty of people their age to play with.

lUVTOGO:

I just started packing yesterday also. I have to believe the weather here is finally going to Fall so the shorts are packed. Packing for dinner is the hardest part. My DD7 was easy because she has plenty of nice dresses to wear. My DS's are more of a problem. I bought them nice pants and they will wear polos and nice shoes. For formal night I bought them dark pants, white button downs and sweater vests with ties. I couldn't get myself to buy them suits that they would wear for 2 hours and never again. I think I'm the hardest one to pack for, I want to bring everything just in case.

Cool. Looks like we'll have a good showing on the Cruise...We have to remember to be
on our best behavior so the non-Jerseyians don't get the wrong idea.. lol Cheers, Gary

My3Kids,
How cool are YOU!! Thanks for going through and finding all those names! I was sitting here thinking (when I read the suggestion to put all the names together) "no way would I have the patience for that"....:) Who's wearing green ribbons so we can identify each other?

As for dressing my DS12, we are going to buy him a suit (which will fit for about 2 weeks) for formal night, just because this is such a special trip for us. (Lots of reasons why it's special, none of which anyone would be interested to know. ;) ) Normally, he will be in long pants, and a shirt with collar.

I can't believe we are finally getting so close. If I start packing now, I'll be full blown crazy by trip time. I have to make myself wait a little more time and get a little closer to trip time. It's killing me!!

lUV2GO, My son (7) will be wearing black dress pants and button down shirts with a tie for the formal and semi formal nights. I bought him inexpensive black dress shoes, since I know that he will only be wearing them for these 2 nights. The other nights he will wear button polo shirts and khaki pants with his black sneakers.

I have clothes everywhere that I plan on bringing for all 3 of us. The challenge is deciding what to bring without bringing too much!

Joanne

Hello All....my DS(9) will be wearing dockers most nights with a nice polo shirt. On the formal he has a blue blazer and tie. My DD(6) will be dressed better than me. SHe has a new dress for each night.

A friend of mine just returned from the Western. Se said she packed way too much and on sea days never got out of her bathing suit.

As someone who just packed for a 3 night getaway for the 2 of us and took 4 large bags, I know packing is going to be an issue at our home! We were planning to take my mini van to the port, but I'm fearing I'll have to take the mini van with husband following behing in a UHaul with the other 30 bags that wouldn't fit. I'm just really not very good at making choices.

I'm hoping to have a suit for my 12 year old, but not a tuxedo. My DH will bring his tux, however. My younger son will likely wear a blazer with tie and khakis. If I don't get a suit by then, then older ds will wear khakis a blue blazer and tie with loafers.
