Anyone from Jersey on the 11/2 Magic Cruise?

*******DCL has repriced the 11/2 cruise for categories 11 and 12. The price has dropped to $641 per adult in a category 11. If you are booked in one of these categories, call DCL or your travel agent. They will give you the better price!!!!!********

looks like my family will be the only people from Virginia on the magic Nov 2nd. How nice conference week must be for the school children. Our children will miss 9 days of school total----hey but the mouse is worth it!!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

psimon...since I booked, my trip has gone up over $1600! Don't worry, they won't INCREASE your price, but if you are in an 11 or 12, they will give you the adjustment, if you ask. Right now the repricing ONLY affects 11 and 12....and maybe only 11. I looked at the DCL website and it showed the category 11 for 2 people about $700 less than the category 12! Anyone in a 12 might be able to get moved up to an 11 AND get money back!

bratdeb: We are Virginia also. I made a list a few posts up of the people who responded here and where they are from. There are a few people not fron NJ....but not many!;)

Welcome Virginia Beach(bratdeb)! Don't worry- Jersey folk luv anybody that lives near the beach! See ya'll on the boat! Cheers, Gary

It's down to 2 weeks!!!:Pinkbounc My head is in the clouds, I accidently ripped OUR birth certificates in little pieces the other day.(Don't ask, cause I don't even know)Well after hysterically calling my husband, he went after work and grabbed the kids new ones. Mine is in an area I do not care to visit, so I mailed them a check, i.d. and hope its mailed out in a week. If not I guess I Will be making a trip. My husbands was safe, he put his in the suitcase already.

Oh my goodness...you've given me something new to worry about. I was just tithering about FORGETTING our passports. It never occured to me to worry about DESTROYING our passports.;) LUVTOGO......keeping my fingers crossed your replacement BC's come quickly.

I have just been doing this way too long. I have planned and done things SO far in advance that I've lost things. I ordered the Triptik months ago.....gone. I bought Fodor's Caribbean.......gone. Today I'll tear the house up locating lost items, undoubtedly burying things that were not lost! I guess it is time to haul the suitcases back out and start filling them again. We've had some frost in Virginia now so I think it is safe to throw in the suimsuits and shorts at this point. I hope Wal-Mart still stocks sunscreens because I forgot to stock up at the end of the summer.

Too much to do......Too much to do.......

No sunscreen at Walmart! They cleared their shelves of sunscreen a month ago. I never thought of sunscreen as seasonal. I also forgot to stock up. I am trying to find the sunscreen stick now and it nowhere to be found.

Sweetspot,

I work in a supermarket so I will check tomorrow to see if we have any of the sticks left. I like to use those also for under the eye area and nose. If we have them I will let you know,I can grab them and give them to you on the ship.

Maryann

Thank you LUVTOGO!! It's very sweet of you to offer but after I posted I went to drugstore.com and found the sticks there on clearance. I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner to look on the net for them.

The sticks are the best for under the eyes. My kids get burned there more than anywhere else and I am always afraid to apply the cream close to their eyes because it always gets in and burns.

My3kids: I didn't realize you were in Virginia. Are you far enough away from all that is going on there? I'm not thrilled about driving through on 95, I can't imagine trying to live day to day.

Less than 2 weeks!!

SweetSpot: Thanks for asking. No, we, thankfully, are not near Washington, but I'm afraid the sniper seems to moving more southward. We are no where near I 95 though, so hopefully all will stay safe here. For anyone traveling down 95, if you do have to stop for gas, please try to go a bit away from the immediate exit area. We are also driving, but won't hit 95 until South Carolina. (Of course if I could find my AAA TripTik I'd know that for sure!!)

Was there any concensus.....to lime green ribbon or not to lime green ribbon? That is my question.

It worries me that the sniper attacks are moving southward. At least here in Raleigh, we are far enough away from I-95 to be a bit out of the way.......but still......

I want to wear ribbons too. My3Kids, let's go ahead and say "YES" to ribbons! Then maybe everyone will follow. ;)

Hope you find that travel guide thingy...... :p

Yes, Eisai babe....the seriousness of the sniper and the ribbon question really didn't go together. Sadly, my brain really does jump around like that. If you hear the other southerner in the buffet line commenting on the wonderful fruit and in the same sentence asking just how something as large as the ship stays afloat, or a shrimp and scuba diving sentence, you'll pretty much have found me----lime green ribbon or not.:o

I thought I was done shopping ...now I have to get some lime green ribbon :)
So everyone...fess up - how is the packing going. I packed all weekend and I am still not done. What is everyone planning on wearing for departure day? We are coming straight from WDW and I am not sure if I want to get dressed up or if a nice shorts outfit will do. I have had all my outfits planne for the cruise for months...but forgot about the 1st day. Oops!
If I don't get a chance to post again...wishing everyone a safe journey to the ship. With all the trouble in DC area I know we can all use a sprinkle of pixie dust to keep us safe.

You're funny My3Kids! :p I really didn't mean you had tied the two together.....I had just typed the two words, and read what I wrote, which is why I put the "what a combination" part in there. My brain works like a jumping bean too! :bounce: No worries.

I've decided my crew will wear ribbons on departure day. I hope everyone here will wear one too, so I can meet this great bunch of people in person.

Can't wait! I'm soooo excited!!! :Pinkbounc

AnnaB: I've been gathering things for a while now and this weekend I finally got the kids completely packed. They were the hardest part of packing, coming up with 7 nice outfits to wear to dinner. I was so horribly anal about packing for them. I bought 2 gallon ziploc bags and after ironing and folding very carefully put a pair of pants, shirt, socks and underwear in each bag. Hopefully, I won't have to spend every morning coordinating outfits everyone.

I looked for the lime green ribbons a while back and wasn't able to find them. I probably looking in the wrong place. I won't be hard to spot. I'll be the brunette, first in line and overcome with excitement!

I can't believe the time is almost here. Lucky AnnaB's, she only has 3 days to go.

SweetSpot - I had to laugh. I too ironed and packed my kids clothes in ziplock backs to cut down on the ironing. Remember..our clothes will be in a suitcase a full week before we even get to the ship. At least I will be easy to spot...just look for the family whose clothes have permanant creases from the suitcases :)
I also pack their clothes for the parks in ziplocks. I find that in the mornings it really cuts down on time needed to get ready. I can toss the kids thier pack of clothes while I shower and get ready.
DH picked up his suit from the tailors tonight - so I can now finish up the pakcing job tomorrow. Not long now :) See you all soon!

We're in! Just booked yesterday for 11/2. Me, DW, DS8, DD4 will be joining all of y'all yankees! We're so excited! This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise (our 2nd Eastern).

Oh MY Gosh....the packing! I am the one who starts putting things into a corner months in advance and tells everyone not to touch because it for the trip. Well this time we have so much going on that while a year ago I was mentally planning what to take, now that it is upon us, I'm overwhelmed and lost. I don't even have the suitcases out yet. I think I've got the formal and semi formal nights under control for the kids but past that I'm a basket case. Our builder told me last night that he is taking out our laundry room next week and we'll be without a washer and dryer for a while! OVER MY DEAD BODY will he lay a hand on my Kenmore until we are out the door, suitcases crammed full of clean clothes.

 I need a vacation!!!!!

My 3 Kids

I am right there with you, except I still need to go out and get me some clothes, the over the door holder, snorkel gear, the kids Halloween costumes, swim shoes, and a few other important things. The clothes are piled in the corner for the kids and husband, the suitcases are out, I am off today so I will do a marathon day,I won't come home to I have everything I need. Then I need to find the iron, hope my birth certificate gets here in time, nail down a ride to the airport, blah blah blah....:p
