Anyone file their taxes yet?

I used Turbo Tax and filed mine & my mom's on the 18th and my sister's boyfriends on hte 19th. They both got their DD on the 30th and I'm still waiting! At first it said the 30th then it changed to the 10th. GRRR.
I'm hoping to see it on Friday the 6th. I need new breaks for the car.

Here is what the wonderful State of California is saying about my refund. While I knew this was what would happen I still think it is absolute crap. If I didn't pay my taxes they would never allow me to get away with this.

"Your return has been received and processed, however, your refund cannot be issued at this time.

Due to the state’s persistent cash and budget problems, the State Controller has directed FTB to stop sending refund requests to the State Controller’s Office for payment. Refund payments will resume when the State Controller indicates there is enough cash available to make refund payments."

:crazy2:

I asked this on the other thread but am hoping someone can help if you use Turbo Tax and I paid my Fees with my Credit Card does it go through Santa Barbara Bank & Trust?

It should not go through SBB&T, only those who have their fees taken out go through there.

I am curious, what fees are you posters having taken out of your return? Places like taxact are free for federal and a lot of states have free websites also. I know from working at Jackson Hewitt that going through SBB&T is pretty costly and taxact is less than $20 I believe for state ....

lol we were posting at the same time. I have used Taxact for the last five years, the program is great in my opinion also!

I just checked the status on my NY State

Your tax return has been processed. A direct deposit of your refund will be initiated on (FEBRUARY 06, 2009). If your refund is not credited to your account within 30 days of this date, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. We are unable to take any action until then

Yay!!

So there IS hope for us NYers! LOL

Thanks so much for your post! I just checked mine earlier today and it said still processing! After I read your post I checked again; I now have a Feb 6 deposit date!:cool1:

I am thinkinng next year I will try Tax Act. This is my third year using Turbo tax and my first issue. I am confused about why mine is taking so long but as long as it come 2-10( or 2-6) I will be happy!

I used TT and completed it this evening. I am feeling very uneasy about it though, as initially the e-file transmission staus on TT read "failed" in that little arrow box at the top then automatically redirected me to the page they are selling the tax audit assist help, even though I'd already declined to purchase that. Anybody else have that happen after you e-filed and declined the extra audit program?

When I click on TT staus bar it says both are pending so I guess everything's fine but it's been several hours and last year I got an email from TT confirming that they'd sent and received my return before the later one stating it was accepted.

Has anybody gotten a received email this year or just the accepted one? If so, how long before you received that first email?
My audit risk factor was low so I'm probably just being paranoid but was really hoping it's be accepted by 11 Thurs to schedule for DD 2/13. Are they running slower than expected this year? :confused3

We e-filed with Turbo Tax on 1/18, it was accepted on 1/19. Turbo Tax said to expect our refund by direct deposit on 1/30. We didn't receive it, so I checked the IRS website and it said it was processing and we should receive by 2/3.
I checked it again today and now it changed to 2/17. I was very frustrated and concerned something was wrong so I called the IRS this morning and was told that sometimes they randomly select returns each year to go over more thoroughly for errors and ours was chosen--he told me to check Friday but if not it should be in our account by the 2/13. My fingers are crossed:) I've heard of a lot of people this year who filed early and seemed to be encountering delays:confused:

Well filed here on the 19th and my dte is the 10th originally the 30th then the 3rd then the 6th now the 10th. I did have a difference in ym calculations than turbos and tried to re calculate. I will not be surprised to learn that turbo had a glitch that the irs may find. I would however really appreciate some information. Frustrated but your post helped clarify thanks!

Mine was accepted on the 18th and it at first said I would have DD by the 30th. Then that changed to Feb 10th. I just checked today and said they found an error and that I would have the direct deposit by tomorrow.

So those that were told the 10th check today.

I just go an updated date on the "Where's my refund" site. It first said the 2/10 date but now it says your refund will be deposited on friday the 6th. It also said if I did not get it by 2/11 to call. I think most of the 2/10 will be this way. Here is hoping for everyone...:goodvibes

party: YEAH!! I just went to the IRS website and mine should be there tomorrow as well. That whole Feb 10th thing was weird. However, I do not see it as a pending transaction (yet) on my online banking webpage. Sometimes direct deposits will show and sometimes they won't. I may call the bank later to confirm.

We're still waiting on a 1099.
I'm actually looking forward to filing mine this year. Normally, I hate to see a refund, but this year we made a large, one time charitable contribution plus I changed jobs and had to pay back a hefty sign on bonus. I didn't want to mess with my withholding for one year's events, so for the first time we're getting a substantial refund. It's kind of fun!

checked mine this morning at it said it would be direct deposited tomorrow!!! My sons 5th Birthday is today and his party is Sat so what better timing. I can now get the tonka bike he wants instead of the boring red one at walmart

Okay, count my worries as paranoia. Taxes intimidate me. Just checked the TT site and it's showing federal as accepted this morning. I guess they don't send the efile received email and the second one to say it was accepted this year like they did in past years - or at least they didn't for me.

Mine was deposited today!!!! State and federal both went in this morning!! So apparently the IRS isn't just depositing on Fridays this year. Their site said it would be today and I figured, yeah right it'll be Friday. But, it's there!!:cool1:
