Anyone file their taxes yet?

I am still waiting for one of my Husband's W2 I am getting frustrated and of course they aren't online:sad2:

Well looks like I am not getting mine until at LEAST next week. Who the heck knows when it will come.

I want to pay off my trip!!! As long as it is here by March 8th, I will be cool.

Does anyone know...previously people were saying to wait till after like the 15th of February to file taxes because of this stimilus Obama is trying to put through. Is there validity to that? I really don't want to have to amend my taxes if something were to pass. Thoughts?!?! :confused3

Here's my OPINION on this...if something passes, it would be very difficult for it to be applied to 2008 taxes. That would require rewriting tax code, forms, software, etc. in the middle of tax season. I just don't see them doing that...

I'm waiting for both mine and DHs W2s, and other forms too. I'll be happy if I get anything by end of next week.

It really erks the crap out of me that I did not get my refund today. I wonder if Feb 10th means Feb 6th, Feb 10th or Feb 13th??????

I thought they only deposited on Friday?

I filed last night, online with Turbo Tax. My returns have already been accepted and my Federal is scheduled for deposit on the 13th. My state is likely to be an IOU....how pathetic is that?

We are going to the tax lawyer tonight. Ours have gotten too complicated to do on our own. Wish us luck!

I filed today!!:cool1: Boy did I love the fact that because we didn't get the total amount for our stimilus the first time we got a $600 credit this time.:cheer2: Paying off our trip as soon as we get it.

Filed last weekend and REFUND hit the bank today! I love direct deposit.

My electronic acceptance notice and everything else has said 1/30/09 the entire time but it didn't deposit today. I just checked the IRS website and now it's saying 2/10/09. That's on a Wednesday like Corjack said in a post below. I thought refunds were only done on Friday's? Anyone have a clue?

Thanks!
Carla

We got ours this past Wednesday. So it might very well get deposited in your account on Wednesday.

Filed last weekend and REFUND hit the bank today! I love direct deposit.

I filed on 1-19.....last Monday and mine is not coming until 2-10. I wonder why? Maybe it is something with Turbo Tax?

Good for you though!!!

Mine changed dates a couple of times. First, it was Jan. 30, then Feb. 6 and now Feb. 10. Our return was accepted on 1/16. According to the irs website, dh was supposed to be deposited, today, but it hasn't hit the bank, yet.

You paid your fee out of your refund? I learned my lesson from that last year. NEVER do it again!!

This is my 6th yr in a row doing it this way- and no problems until this year.

I'm glad and sad to see though I'm not the only one who expected it to be there today and did not get it today. I was so worried about it I was up at 5am to check my bank account. I counted it out that early because my direct deposit pay was there but no refund. I did check about 8 more times though. So, it's not showing up today.

For us the IRS website still says it will be deposited today and should be received by 2/3. The Santa Barbara Site (Turbo Taxes bank) says it should be deposite 1 week from today.

It would of been nice today- I'm alittle short on cash this pay period. Though nothing urgent, and we will be fine without. I have several small things due this week that are not normal- my dh has a doctors appt ($40 copay), my son's lunch card is under $5- so I'll need to throw at least $30 on that and we could really stand to do a stock up on bath and household supplies as I usually only buy them once every couple months). However, the bulk of the check was going towards a new TV and into savings- so nothing that really will not hold another week. So, I'm just thankful I was not counting on it for something I needed right now (car repairs or bills due now).

My state one shows it's processing but no further info is available, check back in 1 week. In yrs past it always showed that until pretty much the day before being deposited. Which is usually 10 days after the federal.

Anyone know for state we have a balance w/ them of $300 (ish)(this was an accurate balance due as of last week w/ interest and penalty) that I know they are going to deduct- which is fine because it hurts alittle less than writing the check to them. However that should still leave us w/ almost a grand left to us. How does that work? Will that hold it up a lot longer?

Update- we got our taxes done and are about $1,000.00 short of what we had hoped to get back to pay off 2 medical bills:rolleyes2 Will just have to keep making those darn payments I guess!

It seems like alot of us are in the same boat. Mine was due to post today as well. Ok, maybe the bank matters. I bank with National City. I called the bank who then told me to call the IRS. The IRS said instead of today it will post next Friday instead. Now that I think of it, this happened last year too.

Well, if they are like Va we hadn't paid our personal property taxes for 2008. They were due in Dec. Well we only owed 179.00 total and I got my state tax refund check in the mail and they kept double the amount out.

I called and asked what was going on and they said that since we have taxes owed in both of our names, they held the double amount. So we can either pay the 179.00 and they will release all of the money or let them keep the 179.00 and after 30 days they will send the remaining back to us minus a 25.00 fee and 4% charge.

Arrgghhh!!!!

I was going to pay it today with my federal tax refund BUT the dang thing didn't come in either.

I'm hoping it don't show up next Friday, I"m praying for Monday or Tuesday. I checked the IRS website and it still states that it's suppose to be deposited today.

Did anyone pay the tax fees out of the return? I used TAXACT.COM and we had them take their fee out of the return. Does that slow it down any?

Taking the fees out of the refund can slow it down. Instaed of the IRS depositing the money in your account the IRS will deposit the refund into a temporary account set up through the company you filed with. The that company deposits that into your account...does this make sense? Most likely the IRS deposited the money into their account today. Then that company will deposit it to you in about 3-5 business day (depending on your bank).

I would LOVE to do our taxes now. The newest tax deduction arrived Dec 23, just in time for Christmas, so we should get a pretty good tax return. The baby wasn't actually due until the middle of Jan, so she was an unexpected extra deduction. However, we haven't received any documents yet to do our taxes.

Think that will amount to a lot in a return? We had our 2nd deduction in september. I hope it reflects well on our return! :)

Well I got my email from HRB today saying that my refund was sent to the bank, now I just have to wait for the bank to post it :(
