Anyone else tired of all the whining and complaining?

Only complaint here is I don't have more points!:lmao:

I LOVE our DVC. When we wanted free dining, we purchased a package. I always book as soon as I can, AND I always have a first, second, and a whatever is available choice! We may want BCV but if that isn't available ask for oh, say, VWL and if that's not available, I'll take anything that is! I cannot find a single thing to complain about with DVC. I LOVE it!

I don't mind the negative comments...as long as posters realize they are opening up themselves to responses from others. Sometimes it seems like all a poster wants is others willing to commiserate. But for the sake of all, I think it's fair to chime-in with a different viewpoint, vastly different experience or even suggestions for handling things differently in the future.

What does frustrate me is to see posts along the lines of "I'm worried to stay at ___ because of all the recent reports of bad housekeeping" (or whatever the topic du jour might be.) Usually "all of the recent reports" amounts to 2 or 3 long threads :headache:

Many (most?) gripes are certainly justified. But I think it's important to give a balanced point of view. Without trivializing the complaint of the person who received a filthy guest room, readers sometimes need to be reassured that there are HUNDREDS of guests checking in daily who receive pristine rooms. :wizard:

Just my opinion, but this may be partly due to the increase of the number of people that own DVC and the number of people that are registered on ths DIS. I remember when we joined that there were only about 150,000 dvc owners at that time , and the dis membership was probably around 50,000 to 60,000. Now DVC is over 400K and the dis is well over 200K. Even if the percentage of negative posts remained unchanged the total number of them would increase three to fourfold.

Despite the negatives that people bring up DVC and Disney continue to be my island of sanity in an insane world - a place where I can go and return recharged and refreshed. I don't sweat the small stuff, and I've had way too many good things happen to my family and I there to worry about the (very) few bad ones.

I guess I'd have to say that I'd not characterize any member's issues as "whining" or "complaining". Sure, there are some issues that I personally wouldn't be worried about. But OTOH, that wouldn't motivate me to trivialize the concerns of my fellow DVC members. If someone has expectations that aren't met, we (hopefully) all have the ability to determine how a particular issue affects each & every one of us without passing judgement on the merits of the poster.

For example, one member may be perfectly comfortable with cockroaches, while another might abhor them. No right or wrong, just different perspectives.

So no, I'm not tired of DVC members expressing their opinions here. Keep 'em coming!
