what's the over/under on how many more posts before this thread gets locked?
Hopefully it stays open long enough for me to figure out who else to put on ignore.

Weight does not necessarily have anything to do with type II Diabetes. It is a hormone disorder caused by hormonal imbalances. I have a hormone disorder, PCOS, and Type II Diabetes. I weigh 130 and am 5'1". Certainly not obese or dangerously overweight. I have never been obese.Weight has zero to do with Type 1 diabetes. ZERO.
They are two different diseases with different causes and different treatments.
Totally agree - I know a few very thin people with Type 2 diabetes, though they are elderly. I don't know any young people with Type 2 diabetes who are also a healthy weight, but I know that there are some just from looking at the stats.Weight does not necessarily have anything to do with type II Diabetes. Tell that to my, near death, friend. She has never been overweight. She has juvenile diabetes. Tell that to my extra skinny mom and two aunts who were never overweight and all died complications due to diabetes. Weight can be a reason but not always. Please don't spread that thinking.According to Ohio board of health and National health institutes. . It’s treated as same now. In the field also in EMS. Both can be equally bad. Both can have or not have the need for insulin. Some can be treated with diet. Some can’t. It’s just not simple as type 1. Type 2. Used to be type one was juvenile. Type 2 was older. And no need for insulin. That’s not the case anymore. Weight. Has ALOT to do with it.
This. I am not sure out exact quarantine date, I'm in California, but I am sure if will end up being June. Living in a rural area is very different from the city. It is frustrating that the entire state is under lockdown like the city. My county has had 3 deaths and a 106 cases as of yesterday. I live in one of the largest counties, but we are very spread out. I am not sure what the complete answer is. I do know that you can't treat all areas the same.OP, I understand where you're coming from. I live in a very small rural town. Almost all our businesses are small businesses. In 400 square miles, there are 4 fast food chain places. Everything else is local restaurants, garden shops, hair salons, etc. We have 2 grocery stores for the entire county. Although our family doesn't have a small business, I'm very concerned about our friends and neighbors who do. I've been trying to order carry out dinner a few times a week. Normally, I cook at least 6 days a week. But I"m trying to support these little restaurants. And tipping an insane percentage to the person who brings the food out to my car. There's risk to everything in life. Our governor has a stay at home request in place til June 10th. Hoping everything around here can re open then.

As far as I know the uncertainty goes beyond that. The last I heard medical experts have not identified a serology test that reveals the presence of Covid-19, nor do they have a definitive answer regarding a person's immunity status, or length of immunity if present.
No one said you deserved to be locked in. I want this over as much as the next person. I don't understand why our areas are being treated the same. Even if they lifted some of the restrictions, I still would not be traveling to the cities. I honestly feel that by May, if our numbers remain the same, more rural areas should be able to go back to normal slowly in our area. Travel restrictions are still a good thing. As the cities start flattening, then slowly start lessening restrictions. I honestly do not see things going back normal until either late summer or late fall. The small amount of cases in your country is likely partially due to the lockdown of the larger cities. If cities are sheltering in place, people are not traveling from hot spots to smaller, rural areas that are less equipped to handle the situation.
As someone who DOES live in a city, it's very weird to see people thinking we deserve to be closed but those in rural areas don't. Our lives are upended as much, if not more, than yours.

In my opinion nyc was very slow to do things and then when doing things failed very badly. Public schools were open to march 13 - I know numerous parents who stopped sending their kids. And then only closed cause teachers threatened to strike.
Whether or not the response has actually been good, every governor at this point knows that if you want to get what you need from this president, you have to flatter the heck out of him. On the other hand, if you have a complaint about the federal response, that’s an easy way to have your needs buried.
The travel ban was not really a travel ban and did absolutely nothing to stop the spread of the virus, so what was he right about? But that’s not true. Even when the President places the travel ban on. Some folks called him racist. Etc. well now we know he was right. And. California Governor Newsome who is probably as opposite in political idiology as you can get even said. “ I’m not going to lie. The President and his response has been outstanding.” So there is an example of a someone that would disagree with that. Where we live. Things have been handled well. It’s mostly up the the states individually as to how they handle things though.
It’s not just a opinion it’s a fact. NYC has done a terrible job.
