So even in the "good old days" of the early 60's there was still some serious planning to do!
I don't think it's anything compared to the planning today, especially if you want to avoid stand-by lines and you want table service meals!

That is one person's opinion. I think most would agree that Apple did in fact create new markets for MP3 players, smartphone's and tablets. What innovation? Which awesome new products? According to a 2013 Money article, "Despite its reputation, Apple has rarely been in the business of creating entirely new markets. Apple didn't invent the PC, the MP3 player, the smartphone or the tablet."
NOPE, true she is as honest as the day is long but, this is the expected response from the DIS. If it is anything negative about Disney it must not be true![]()
Networth said:Hey if you believe your friend good for you but call Disney and ask them what a wedding similar to your friends with 70 guests would cost I think you may find your giving your trust a little to easily.
Also who said I was defending Disney? I won't even have my own wedding, which if you read my post you would of seen. Just sounds like you need a hug![]()
At the same time, you have no idea what that 200k includes. You don't know how much they spent on wedding clothing (dress, accessories, hair styling, make up, tux, etc). You don't know if they paid for their attendants' clothes/hair/makeup (BMs or GM). You don't know whose hotel rooms they paid for, or where those hotel rooms were. You don't know whose travel costs they paid for, and what those travel costs were. You don't know if they purchased park admission for anyone.
That's a lot of information to not have, and then turn around and say someone is lying.
I do agree the fireworks charge was likely a misunderstanding and the cost was for piping music into a location that doesn't usually have it, but again that is likely a misunderstanding, and not the friend "telling fairy tales."

You don't, the plastic RFID tickets work fine. No one HAS to pay for bands.
Hi Networth! I had no idea. I just read on the Disney website that it was $12.95. Maybe I miss-read. Thanks for the clarification.![]()
Your welcome.
They only charge for the bands if you for some reason you really want the band. I don't know if you stay onsite or have an AP but than they do send a "free" band if you do either. Other than that I would save the money, I wish I could just send you some of my extra's lol.
maxiesmom said:Then why did you throw the 200,000 figure out there as if it was the result of Disney being greedy? If a wedding can be done at WDW for much much less, that cost is not from Disney being greedy, but from the bridal party adding on a lot of extras.
I believe your friend was not lying, but I don't believe the cost had to do with Disney being greedy. But with your friend wanting the wedding to be extra extra special. I'm sure 200,000 is an easy enough figure to get to outside of WDW if someone really wants to hit it.

Disney didn't create animated movies or 'dark rides', but was easily responsible for taking them to the next level and making them mainstream. Pretty much the same thing.
** Oh okay. I haven't read the thread about magic bands. Haven't been to Disney in about 2 1/2 years. Yes, we usually do get an AP. So we can still buy AP tickets without getting the magic band? Can we buy kids tickets without getting the magic band too? Sorry about all the questions just curious. Thanks again!

Frozen Party: if you pay extra for a meal, you get guranteed access to a fireworks event and a stage show. How is this considered a huge departure from the Fantasmic packages or Wishes dessert party?
Networth said:Yes but those costs are general and vary to anyone wedding, it's not particular to WDW. The post came off as the individual spent 200k on a wedding so Disney should throw in the music for the fireworks. How dare Disney charge extra when I'm already spending 200k.
I think your friend may be telling you fairly tails. I have been to 3 Disney weddings and even looked at one myself(no way, but that's another discussions). Your friend said they spent 200k for 70 guests that's roughly $2800 a head. Even with the largest wedding I was at in Disney they did not hit 200k and they had 230 guest, with plenty of extras (wedding pavilion, dinner in Epcot, characters at the wedding, stage coach etc). Also the up charge for fireworks was to have the music piped in to the reception space, not a charge for the actual fireworks. Just saying something doesn't add up with your friend.

Also what are people getting at that Disney isn't working on the other parks? We all know Pandora is coming to DAK with at least 2 new rides and a night time show. Also it is well known that something is going on at DHS there is just no announcement yet. I feel like the community burned Disney for announcing New Fantasyland in the planning stages that they learned their lesson and will try to take on Uni's approach of lets not say anything until it is 75% done that way we can say we built it fast and it is almost ready.
When you purchase your AP they will send you a band and a card showing your a annual pass holder. Any AP ticket you get, will get a band which you can customize through MDE (their website). As for the kids tickets they won't get a band.
Also remember you will get bands for anyone in your party (children) if your staying at any Disney Resorts.
So hypothetically say you buy 2 AP's and 2 5 day children's tickets, and your stay at the Contemporary 2 kid 2 adults. You would get a total of 6 bands. 2 from the AP's and 4 for each guest staying at the resort.
So far, since they announced Pandora in 2011 they've dug a couple of shovels of dirt and moved Lion King. This area isn't slated to open until 2016 at the earliest. DHS, who knows how long that will take and what it will be?
Universal has opened amazing new attractions annually for at least the past 5 years. Can you say the same for WDW?
