For those that have gone with cheer or other teams

Hello! This is my family's first time going as part of a cheer competition and I'm checking with the Dis experts here. We usually stay off-site at our timeshare but since that's weekend-to-weekend and this is weekday-to-weekday, we'll stay on property with the competition vendor's package.
Arriving 3/11 for a 4-night, 5-day package that includes 3 days of park tickets. Staying on Disney property, must the park tickets be used only on three of those days? Or could we extend our stay in the on-property hotel for two days, and go to the parks on those two days instead? In other words, are the tickets usually tied to the original package dates? My daughter's big concern is giving one of her daughters relaxing days before the competition because she's easily overwhelmed.

Haven't been to Disney with a cheer team, but our company has held a few employee Disney events over the years where they offered a package deal. My impression is that each company negotiates their own agreement with Disney about how the various parts of the package will work. Have also seen some older threads on that topic. Probably best to check with your vendor selling that package and/or see if their website posts specifics about the various arrangements being offered.

is it a Varsity event? I'm trying to remember this from last year and am fairly sure you have a period of time to use the tickets either before, during, or after the trip...like once you use the first one you have 10 days to use all 3 ticket days but you don't have to pick them ahead of time mostly due to this scenario. Just tried to find my info in my emails and couldn't...

I’ve never found the varsity packages to be better than what I can put together. Depending on the event, I will buy the spectator park tickets which include espn comp admission. We’ve been there quite a few times, and will be going again soon. Look at dvc rental, and also consider offsite with Windsor Hills or somewhere similar. In May we stayed in a condo with Vista Cay resort by Epic and drove in. In April we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which we picked up on Priceline about 3 weeks before we went. We had been scheduled to stay at POFQ before we made that change. We’ve also done swan/dolphin on these trips and just uber to espn if we don’t drive over.

But to answer your questions—the tickets are limited to a date range that’s usually about a week and must be used then. They also require park reservations to be made in advance. So you don’t have to use them on performance days.
