Anyone else plan super far out?

We've got the August 2010 trip booked and the August 2011 and 2012 trips planned out in our heads. For August 2011 we're going to try to get a THV at the 11 month mark so we can bring DAunt and DMom with us. August 2012 we'll maximize our AKV points for a trip for just the five of us - now we just need to decide between CL, Savanna view or Standard view. That will determine the length of the 2012 trip.

We've got trips planned for sure for Feb. 2010, July 2010 and Oct. 2010. Not sure on 2011, but considering June 2012 for DL.

Looks like we're all in good company! I HAVE to think big picture or else I might not use my points wisely now and goodness knows they can't go to waste, don't have enough to throw away at all!

We always plan several years out. In June 2011 we are going to stay 6 night at the Beach Club Villas, 5 night on the Disney Dream and then move to Vero Beach for 5 nights to relax. We can not wait...

We have trips with commitments through June 2011 and a tentative family gathering in June 2014. Have to admit we're starting to think seriously about 2012 and Hawaii. Or maybe just a west coast trip to DL with some side trips to some of the national parks in California instead.

October 2011 will be my grandaughter's first trip to Disney World and I can hardly wait. We are planning everything out already and saving all of our pennies. She will be 5 years old when we take this trip and she is telling everybody that she is going to Disney World. This will be the best trip I have ever taken when I get to go with my little princess.

We also have several vacations planned. May/June we will be heading to BCV and VB. In summer of 2011, we are saving points and heading to Myrtle Beach for a family vacation including extended family. We are going to Hawaii in 2012. We were married in Hawaii in 2001 and put off our 10 year anniversary trip hoping to stay at the new DVC resort.

All the time!

For me, it's important to know how many points are needed for our vacations for the next 3 years. That way, I can tell when we need to buy more points.

However, in terms of plans for ADRs and which park to go to etc....I usually plan that out (or most of the time, I just use similar plans as the previous vacations) 11 mths in advance and refine it when the hours are out and ADRs are available to book.

Meriweather is planning an exchangers meet and it will be in December 2011. I can't wait to meet some of my exchange partners!

Some in my family are planning to do the half marathon in January 2012, which is only a month later. By that time, I'm pretty sure DH and I will stay in our DVC accomodations for the month of January and some of February as well.

We have nothing penciled in beyond that!

It's changed so much since the last time I was there (which was 1996) so it will be like a new place to me. We're just hoping we can get GCV at the 7-month window.

Yes. 1 week in Jan at BWV, 1 week in Oct at BWV or BCV, and Thanksgiving at HH until 2042. Every 3 years a week at Vero in early spring.

WOW! Christmas in a THV - what a GREAT idea. Oh no....

I know, right? Hanukkah is what we celebrate but we do notice Christmas as well as far as having a tree. Plus with My DD's bday being Dec. 21, we might actually save $$$ by going for all three. At least that's what I am telling DH. He told me last night he wants at least a full 2 days to relax and skip the parks so it looks like we'll arrive there Dec. 16th and leaving the 28th; I need 8 park days and one water park day and he needs 2 relax days and we don't do the parks on arrival or departure day.

What time of year was that reservation for?

This June; 13-18.

On avg we will plan from 1 to 2 years out. makes it so much easier to save up for a wonderful trip.
