Anyone else not love Fantasmic?

We did it once and it was nice. Not as good as Wishes or Illuminations. I know I wouldn't wait the hour again to view it.

We saw it April of this yr. Had the Fantasmic package, ate at Hollywood & Vine(gross). The show took a long time to start, plus it got very windy and cold, the seats imo were bad. We would prolly never do it again, it was nothing special to us.

I think Fantasmic is way too long and just seems to drag on. The video on the water is cool for the first 2 minutes then it just gets old. If and when they replace on of the parks nightime shows it better be this one,cause I absolutely love Illuminations, the Spectromagic parade and Wishes which is my all-time favorite.

I was completely unimpressed by Fantasmic.

I like Illuminations and love Wishes , but Fantasmic is one I won't re-do.

Can't like everything, I guess.

MEEEE! <<waving my hands wildly>> It scared the crap out of my son. Way too dark and scary. The ending turned out ok, but it was an overwhelming show for him. I don't think we'll see it again anytime soon.

Haven't set aside valuable ride time to fit it in yet.

It seems to long of a wait for the show.

Plus my kids do not like loud noises. (even the 14 year old)

On our first three trips we missed Fantasmic (rain, sick kids etc) so when we went solo in August it was on our must do list. We did the dining package, and even with that we had to sit for half an hour and when it was over we both felt like "that's it?" I don't know what I was expecting, but it was just OK. We are going again in December with the kids since they haven't seen it yet, but I don't see it being like Wishes, which I can watch every night and not get tired of.

I don't understand how anybody that loves Disney could not love this show, IMHO We got home a few days ago from out trip and first viewing of Fantasmic and we all thought it was, well Fantasmic I actually had tears running down my face at the end of the show. I'm still not sure why I was crying, but for some reason the whole show just moved me.

I could have watched for hours, the movies projected onto the water, and trust me, the wind was blowing and we were on the front row getting a really, really ,really, cold shower the entire show but we all could have cared less.

It magically touched us and I will make it a point to see it each time we visit.

Detested Fantasmic and won't ever go again unless forced. Disliked the "story line", disliked everything about it.

Didn't do it last trip-can't say we really missed it.
They need to "freshen" up things-it is the same event it was 4 years ago.
2 hours is alot of time to waste sitting in the arena doing nothing when you pay $60. plus for a ticket.

They need to do something similar to the Shamu rocks show at Sea World just before closing which is upbeat and involves the audience to help pass the time away.

My reaction to fantasmic is exactly the same as this one. I cry every time I see the show, not sure why, but I do. This will be the last thing we do on our upcoming trip.

I like Fantasmic enough, but my heart doesn't break if i don't see it every trip.

We see it about every 3rd or 4th trip, I imagine.

DW and I finally caught it after 'missing' it for many years. After the show our impression was ok we've seen it, don't need to do it again, at least at MGM. We've seen it a DL and maybe because you're a bit closer to the action that made a difference since we liked it there. At MGM with the big theater and getting a seat in the middle you feel so far away and it's hard to see everything.

Too crowded so hard to get back to your hotel afterwards. Favorite is Ecpot and Wishes.

We saw it for the first time last year (DS was 7 and DD was 4) and we all enjoyed it. The only complaint I had was the wait - it was hard standing for so long and my kids got restless. This year we are going again and have the Fantasmic package reserved, so hopefully that will alleviate (somewhat) the wait. I probably would have been happy to skip Fantasmic this time, but my DD expressed an interest in going again, so....you know the rest

I don't care for it but DH loves it so we see it every trip. I think the story is kind of random at points - Pocohantas seems to come out of nowhere to me and I agree with the poster who said it's just Disney movies on being shown on water. I also think getting in and out of the theater is a nightmare. But I am a fireworks person. I love, love, love both Illuminations and Wishes.

I saw Fantasmic! for the first time last trip and really was disappointed. Maybe it wa because I saw it after the holiday wishes and my favorite, the holiday illluminations, but I thought it was pretty boring. So much of it was just videos on water screens. It actually reminded my DH and I of a show we saw back at Sea World in the early nineties--Posideon's Story or something. I would not see Fantasmic again. Too much waiting for a (imo) mediocre show.

Caveat: I would see it again if I was at Disney with my niece and nephew. They both love it.

DH and I don't care for Fantasmic. After a while the water screen segments bore me...they're too long and there's too much of it. I also don't care for the Pocahontas segment. I'd be willing to see it more often if it weren't for the seating...either pay for the dining plan to eat at restaurants we don't want to eat at, or wait for over an hour and then be stampeded like cattle either way after the show's over.

I prefer Illuminations to Fantasmic, though I think there could be more fireworks and less of the globe.

I LOVE Spectro and Wishes though and can see them multiple times each trip. Hallowishes was spectacular, IMO.

This sums up my sentiments almost exactly. I don't mind the Pocahontas section, but overall, I find the waterscreen segments are too long and occur too often. I understand though that they are probably used as opportunities for scene/costume changing, but they are a little on the dare-I-say boring side. I also totally agree with the Illuminations thing - the globe features on its own way too much - and the fact is the images on it are not THAT easily seen so you find yourself straining to see and there is nothing else going on. Also, the lack of the fire barge at the moment is disappointing. They need to update this show too. On the other hand, SpectroMagic - unbelievable, love it; Wishes - I think, the most spectacular fireworks; possibly only surpassed by the (seasonal) Hallowishes which was amazing.

Enjoyed it the first time. The second time it was "been there done that." Don't think we will go again.

To someone who asked "How can you love Disney and not love this" - people love different things about Disney and Disney vacations. Some of us aren't into the "syrupy stuff" - we cruised and I really don't like Disney Dreams - which most people love, far too sentimental. Fantasmic is less sentimental, but still sentimental.

What we enjoy about Disney is spending time with the family. We love the educational stuff in Epcot. I love paying attention to the logistics of how they pull off running it. I like being on vacation in a place I know well where I can expect a certain quality to the experience. I'll admit to a sentimental thrill seeing the castle, but that is how far sentiment will take me at Disney.
