Anyone else not love Fantasmic?

If they replaced this show, I'd be furious. It's my favorite one and DH's too. He wasn't too impressed by Wishes (leeetle too innocently cheesy for him) and Illuminations is fine, but feels a bit standard to me.

Frankly, with the huge waits everyone is describing (and it's true, the waits are huge), I doubt Disney feels there is any need to replace it for the time being. There aren't huge crowds for shows people hate.

If I had to choose, it would be:

1. Specto and Wishes
2. Fantasmic
3 Illuminations

But I do love them all. . . and I make sure to see all three every trip!! :goodvibes

Do not care for Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine is the best of the 3, but nothing special, and Fantasmic we don't go out of our way for. We MUCH prefer Illuminations and Wishes.

. i think it's scary for little kids and once you get past the effects not much to ohhh and ahh over. i wouldn't miss illuminations or wishes but might rather go on tot or rnr while everyone esle is at fantasmic ;)

we do however love BD!

I liked the special effects and the prominant role of Mickey and the other characters who appear in Fantasmic. I enjoyed the WDW version, but agree that the Disneyland version is better. By the way, my BF was not too impressed with Fantasmic, so I know firsthand how people can have a difference of opinion.

I also enjoy Illuminations. As for Wishes, I really don't understand what the fuss is about. I found it disappointing.

I can't recall the last time I saw this, but it's been years.

It just doesn't do it for me. I don't want to sit for an hour in a stadium doing the wave!! SHEESH!

I will NOT miss Illuminations and see it at least twice on every visit. I also really like Wishes, but since MK is my least favorite park I don't always see it!

As for those of you that would get hysterical if something was changed... be prepared! At some point Disney will change these shows....

We watched once several years ago and once was enough. We did not think it was worth the wait or the crowds leaving the park afterward. Wishes on the other hand, I watch as often as possible.

I've seen it twice. I kind of felt it was the best of Disney and the worst of Disney all wrapped into one. All the impressive lights and fireworks and water-hoohah was certainly well done and they get a lot of characters in and out. But the story makes little sense, it doesn't really hang together and then they just kind of bring all these characters out in the end to appeal to everyone's sentiment and get this burst of emotion the show didn't really earn. The music at the end seems to want us to look back on the great show we just saw that never really happened.

I'll probably go again and it's fine and all but I feel with the incredible amount of money they spend to put that thing up every night they could really do a real show with a real story. Just MO, I'm not trying to be a basher. I guess I could look at it from another way and say, well it really is supposed to be a water/fireworks show and the "story" is supposed to be thin, it is just something to hang the effects on. I guess it depends on what you are expecting.
