Anyone else never use the resort pool?

I stayed in Pop Century for 8 nights/9 days and never stepped foot into one of the pools. In fact, we were at the hotel for a break in the middle of the day twice, and we just stayed inside or walked around. Anyone else not go into the pool at all or is it just me?

I've been to WDW 11 times in the last 9 years (or 12? I am losing count) and I've been swimming on 3 of those trips: 1 time at WL, 1 time in the quiet pool at YC and 1 time in SAB at Y/BC. I'm not much into swimming, as you can see. :)

DH took the kids to the pool once our trip. I'm not much for swimming these days so I just monitored them to make sure no one drowned. ;)

I could hear the main pool a lot but I never ever saw it! LOL

To Disney related resorts and Dw got into the pool at the WL one time on one trip. We have been in the hot tubs a couple more times though.

We are DVC Members and go quite often

On average we go to the Pools more times then days we are there , say 8 or 9 times on a 7 day trip. Very rarely is there a day when we do not make it down to the pool at some time. Midday pretty much everyday and some morning and evening swims sprinkled in.

We go an average of 3x per year, since 2003, haven't been in a pool once. I think that DH has been in the pool maybe once.

ASMu's pool is too shallow for adult swimming. Last month, DD and DD's BFF went every night (for socializing, not swimming :rotfl:); DS and I never even went close.

You're not alone. We...ummmm (I) :goodvibes always feel that we have to spend the entire day out at the parks for some reason.

This is what happened to us last November. We had arrived at MGM from the Boardwalk and my husband had just started filming the entrance when he saw that the battery had not charged at all during the night:eek: .

We had to make a decision...to either stay at MGM and not capture anything on video or take the boat back to the Boardwalk and wait for the battery to charge in our hotel room

We ended up going back to get the battery charged & the kids enjoyed the pool and slide. So I guess that it was meant to happen that way and I'm happy because the kids really had fun.

I have never gone swimming in a Disney pool in my 9 or 10 trips to the world. I'm not into the community pool thing either.

For me, it has depended which resort I was staying in.

We stayed at POP 3 times, 8 days each trip....I never swam there, even once.
That pool is just like our neighborhood pool...nothing special.

Since POP, we've stayed at mods. & deluxes. Those pools have slides/waterfalls and are fun....I swim at those pools!

I'm allergic to chlorine, so I rarely swim, I think in the past 5 times I have gone I have swam maybe once, DF and I might go swimming on our honeymoon in 32 days! We're staying at the Contemporary but if I go swimming I get a really bad rash all over my body and I get really itchy, and have to take benedryl which makes me VERY sleepy, so probably not. But hey you never know.

Besides the fact that I'm self conscious in a bathing suit, I think of swimming as something I can do at home. On this last trip we did get in the pool at POP once, but that was only because we took my cousin and he wanted to. I admit that it was fun and a nice break from walking around, but it's not something that I have to do!

In the past 13+ years i've only used the pool once which was last year at AKL.

Some people on here use the pools as a reason for upgrading to a mod or deluxe, but since we never use them, that is a non issue for me!

I haven't been in a public pool for more than ten years. I love to swim, but it seems like the solution has been to just add more chlorine to counteract an increase in "protein spills", and it's just not pleasant to me any more. I love to watch other people swim from my balcony, and a pool can make the room view nice, but you won't see me in the pool. My idea of an afternoon break is a cool shower and a nap.

I thought I was alone! I went in one of the quiet pools at the CBR 10 years ago, haha! I went to the one at the WL one night. Thats about it. I have no interest in swimming in Disney. I can do it at home.

In five Disney trips I have never stepped foot once in a Disney pool. We're theme park commados -- parks, parks, parks, all day, all night.

Now that I have a young child, though, I'm sure that will change! Pools were a big factor in choosing a resort for our next trip, in 2008.

We never swim we usually spend all day in the parks and then come back to our room and put in a movie and lie in bed to get ready for our next day at the parks.
