Hey everyone!

I've recently got engaged and now I'm planning my wedding. It was my dream to have a Disney Escape Wedding, but my DF has a huge extended family and my FMIL really wants it to be at home... so now I've "mostly" given up on the Disney Wedding idea. We are having a Disneymoon though! :goodvibes Even though my wedding will not be in the most magical place on Earth, I want to incorporate Disney into my reception. Has any other bride had to forgo a Disney wedding for a home one.. and (if you are) how will you be adding Disney touches to your wedding? Thanks so much!

We are having a home wedding and a Disneymoon. We are looking at doing a 10 day stay at Disney with 4 park days. The other days are 2 at universal, 1 at seaworld, and 1 at coco beach. We haven't priced it yet so depending on that we may do a land and sea but cruising in September/October kinda worries me.

What are your plans?

We are also having an at home wedding with all of the disney touches incorporated. like you my df has a huge family! we are also taking part of of honeymoon at disney! We just booked yesterday!

we are also having our wedding at home followed by our honeymoon at disney. I wanted to have the wedding at disney like you but DF really wanted all his family close, although my family will have to travel 4 hours to the wedding. But we have agreed to have disney accents with the wedding and the reception. We are using some music from disney movies, naming/decorating the tables after a disney movie or a ride. It also helps that our colors are red, black, white and gold, the colors of the mickey outfit.

Our colors are red, black and silver and we are doing mickey pomander balls for the bridesmaids, we are also doing disney table names and a lot of other hidden mickeys for our guests who get it!

Yay! I'm glad that I'm not the only person on this board that is having a home wedding. I'm still really envious of the lucky people who actually get to be married in Disney, but my DF promised that we can have a 10 year vow renewal there.

Our colors are red, black, and white (Disney colors). I want hidden Mickey's in the bouquets. I love how the Disney florists add those in. I know that I want the wedding favors to have some kind of Disney theme. I also want Disney centerpieces, but our reception site provides free ones (so we'll probably just go with those because we don't have a big budget). I still have A LOT to plan and this wedding board is so much fun to read!

I'm in the same boat as all of you. I really wanted a disney wedding but the family was to big, so we couldnt afford it. We are doing a lot of Disney touches at the wedding though. Including mickey invitations, naming the tables after charecters and using stuffed animals of the charecter to lable them, a candy buffet for the favor that will feature disney candy. I'm also going to put mickey confetti on the tables and rhinestone mickeys on the bottom of my shoes for a little hidden mickey. We just booked out honeymoon too. We have decided to spoil ourselves. We are doing two whole weeks at disneyworld. We lucked out that when we are having our honeymoon is when they were offereing 40% off deluxe accomodations so we are staying at the wilderness lodge. I must admit, I think i am a bit more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding itself.

Your not alone! We're having our ceremony here in NC. Like you, just too many folks to ask to go to DW with us. We're inviting about 50 people, keeping it small & intimate. Then we're off to the BOARDWALK VILLAS!!! 277 days and counting!! :woohoo:

I'm in the same boat! I too think I'm a bit more excited for the disneymoon :cutie: Also lucky enough to have the 40% pin! Poly! Doing disney accessories for the wedding.

Us too, we're having TOUCHES of Disney. We have a pumpkin coach graphic, with our 2 initials inside it as our logo for all the napkins, invites & thank you's. We're doing DISNEY PRINCESESS as our table themes and going to have the DJ play Disney music from famous couples ie. Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin etc. while we eat. And of course, we will have our matching Disney Ear Bride Ears to wear for our last dance. I wanted touches, not overkill. Everyone knows we LOVE Disney and are DISNEYMOONING there as well. Very excited, but equally excited about our honeymoon!! :woohoo:

I also wanted a Disney wedding but having the thought of both sides of the family at the Disneymoon I decide to have a at home wedding. They would be stocking us the whole time at Disney! I am from the Houston area and decide to get married on a yacht and they provide all of the services like a Disney wedding but a lot cheaper. Just add as much Disney into your wedding, that is what we are doing.
